Looks like Mercedes had it in 1978 but the first standard ABS in a mass producted car wasn't until the 1985 Ford Granada MK 3 according to wiki

i don't know if you notice, but the scenes insides the vehicles and outside are not taken inthe same place, because u can see some trees when the scenes are shooted inside the vehicles and the trees are not here when the scenes are taken outside :)

A second later it goes back to his usual leather jacket.

@avpd15 - I'm guessing that KITT must have meant that he needs a good enough distance from the truck to use Turbo Boost, but Micheal decided to stay in reverse the whole time.
