  • A wonderful production! I miss being active in small theater like this. Sadly it is becoming lost to TV and ignorate fools that only look at the bottom line when counting the beans. The Director picked this play for our last play of the season and for the communitry threater. The last night we invited all the past preformers and others to wear costumes of past productions and did a final parade which ended with the children doing the Good Night song again. Then stage then went dark.

  • Cool! :D

  • I haven't seen this version since I was so young that I don't actually remember going to the theatre to see it! Thank you for posting it. Love the sound of the man's voice who plays Georg! And though I miss "Something Good", he did have some of the most adorable lines when he confessed he loved Maria.

  • You're welcome. I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

  • Stunning and amazing! I am glad I took the time to watch the whole thing!

  • This is helping me get into character for our school production. I am Mother Superior, so I keep watching the scenes she is in. But it is helping, so thats for putting it up on youtube!!

  • Great. I like hearing how the videos help people. Good luck to you.

  • Thanks!

  • A wonderful production and it was nice to see its strict adhearance to the stage musical and not the film version. Too often directors feel compel to change the play and bring in elements of the very famous film - don't get me wrong, I love the film (it is my favorite) but the play is a little different and it is nice to see the songs performed that were cut for the film. Nice job all around.

  • wow! So, i'm glad i stumbled upon this! Very nice job well done...good!

  • yeah, I just wanted to echo WILTALK and thank you for posting the whole, original musical. It was like getting to see it in a theatre. I've only ever seen the movie and then on youtube there are lots of numbers from the musical but I've always wondered how the stage version differed in the script and the songs. There may be better productions out there but I must say, you all did a fabulous job and sounded really good together - ok the nuns have issues but I can forgive that :) Anyway, thank you

  • thank you and why do the nuns have issues?

they were actually all very nice and fun to work with

  • Thanks for putting this on You tube in it's entirety enjoyed it. It helped me get my Sound of Music Fix. Haven't seen it for a while.

  • Glad you enjoyed it and... you are welcome!

  • i was in this production we worked very hard on this and no lines were not messed up

worked on this for 8 weeks and did 11 performances. i would appreciate it if someone wasn't finding the bad in it.

  • was this obsp off broad street players?

  • No -this was community theater

  • Could have fooled me it was so good. Seriously, this production is a credit to the art of musical theatre - that you don't have to have lots of money and flashy sets and professional singers/actors to transport the audience to another time and place. Kudos community theatre group!

  • Suisse was not such a place of refuge at this time, in fact there was nowhere in Europe that was neutral or safe from the Nazi Kidnappers.

    .

    delightful

    cheers.

  • Fabulous stuff. I really enjoyed that show.

  • thanks i'm glad u liked it i was in this one

  • thats really good! it had tto be very hard to do! thanks!

  • glad you liked it!

  • how long did it take for the production to come together??

  • 6 weeks

  • wow!! that must be long enough!! usually for school musicals like mine it would take about 2 months (including the next month performing in the show).

  • Now that you mention it ... it might have been two months. I'm not sure. All other plays are 6 weeks but I think the summer musical might be longer.

  • actually my school musicals take 10 -12 weeks to come together

  • This was a great show.

  • Thanks. Glad you liked it.
