  • Wait . . . everyone drove to the Rainbow Gathering? I'm confused.

  • This is neat. I want to go to something like this. Can you send me details.?

  • Shalom

  • annoying video transitions :P

  • It's nice to see the Gathering through the eyes of First Timers! I'm glad you dug it. you've made some very beautiful videos. Thank You! I hope we see you on the east coast next yearn with your camcorder!

  • Thanks, I really enjoyed the Gathering although I was still recovering from my Hep C treatment and its many pains and tribulations. If I manage to trek outside the Southwest, it will be a miracle. Thanks for your comment!

  • how do you know when and where double rainbows are gonna show up?

  • Mother Nature shines her light on those who keep her sacred in their hearts.

  • @desertjournalonline well said

  • Peace

  • Same to you, Bro!

  • Beautiful place! And I hope it was just as beautiful when they all moved on....

  • It seems even thousands of people have little impact on the woods until they bring out their monster trucks and chainsaws or put three tons of fuel on their campfire. These are clearly not the way of the Rainbow.

  • Well said...

We have ORVers moving into our forest (Sequoia,) and they're prpbably the biggest nuisance of all.

  • Yeah, those people say they appreciate nature, but they only tear it up with their polluting toys, without thinking about the consequences of what they're doing. They do not use the land gently, nor do they even attempt to fix it before they leave.

  • @losthills Im from cuba NM where this was held. The mountains are fine, no damage done. Its a beautiful place and i had the privilege of growing up there. You can learn alot from those mountains that you cant learn in the city. I love it..

  • Parking was obviously a bit of a problem, but other than that it looks like an awesome event! What was the elevation?

  • 8,500' to 9,000'. The rangers directed me and many others to park three to four miles away from the gathering, but as I was unloading a guy from Chicago told me that there was plenty of parking spaces closer to the event. So indeed we got back into the van and found a parking space among many near the top.

  • Does anyone know if theres been any speculation on where next years gathering will be.Waiting to find out where the next one to be,reminds me of Christmas eve as a little kid.I has to take off a lot of time from work for this years gathering,so hopefully next year it will be a little closer to the east coast.

  • WOW!! Welcome Home! I hope you had a nice gathering! Hope the kids had a good time! See you next year! Love You guys! Thanks for being so nice in NM! And thank you for posting that healing circle footage--I really appreciate it! Lovin u!

  • This one is your compilation video. I like this.

  • Thanks, I actually was able to think it through a little bit and I got a trailer on my main independent channel desertjournalonline with links to all five videos on this channel. I used to create these web links and they tend to work well.

  • Thanks for the video.I just seen myself in your video,i'm the person in the redshirt pushing the little girl on the swing.

I had my own video camera with me,but didn't use it much because I was afraid the battery would die.

Do you bring extra batteries or did you have to walk back to your car to recharge it.I would appreciate some advice for the future.

  • Hi, my batteries are good for more than 100 minutes each. I always carry a spare battery with me so I have a total of 200 minutes, which is more than enough time to cover most events. In this case I spent the whole afternoon and shot only about 35 minutes worth. One thing that may help is keeping the LED closed so it doesn't waste precious battery time when you're in a crunch. I'm not sure about the cost of the batteries I use (maybe $40 or so) - but they're well worth the purchase.

  • w t h was that on the big horses right in the end of your vid?

    why were they there?

    were they stirring up trouble?

havent been since 1984 in n calif.

  • I thought it weird too that pigs ride horses.

  • ya gotta admit that's a nice gig tho, if you can get it. riding horseback all day in a spectacular national forest in new mexico taking in the scenery and ogling the flower children. they pay time & a half for overtime on that job, those guys are putting in as many hours there as they can.

  • Heck, I'd volunteer for the job, just to keep the heat away.

  • long time ago, at the first gathering, the cops arrived in a helicopter right in the middle of main meadow, they hung out for a while, talking to various hippies about that day's main event, a silent vigil for peace.. then they climbed back in their chopper and left... harumph... now you better believe there is big police presence nowadays and muchisimo money requisitioned for the policing of this uneventful event. they've got horses, night goggles, incident command teams, dogs. big moolah

  • Yea, capitalism has even crept into the prison system and justices are taking bribes to send our kids to jail and in return getting kickbacks. I do believe REVOLUTION is imminent, just not quite sure what shape it's gonna twist into.

  • Excellent documentary. Great adventure.

  • Thanks. I don't have the shakes nearly as bad as I did a year ago and I'm starting to come out of my shell, although some dental work would help improve my image on camera.
