Sad to say I aree with you hueseph, I have watched other expert village demos and they have all been very poor and in one case dangerous. Having a difference of opinion or style is one thing but using people who have little knowledge themselves to teach ??! Expert village should either be renamed or use real experts!

It bothers me that "expert" village is so full of beginners. Hardly experts. Would you rather learn from a student or a master? There are no masters in "expert" village.

im 34 and i started playing flamenco yesterday!! i watched a gabriella and rodruigo tips video and so ive been sitting here going chika chika for hours, kinda got a triplet rhythm thing going fairly easily but it does seem like you gotta be doing it for years to actually be convincing. to cut a long story short; do it!

I'm 30 and I started playing about 2 months ago. I learned the first part of Asturias in about 2 weeks with lots of practice. Someone smarter than me could do better probably, but it's definitely possible to learn some stuff that sounds good.

I've been playing with Uke's for about 6 months with not so much practice in the last 3 months, and that helped.

If you do it, you will find that you can.

Flamenco and classical guitars have wider necks though. Practicing on a steel string acoustic will only make it harder because your fretting hand gets so used to smaller movement but when you change to a nylon stringed flamenco guitar you have to move more because of the wider neck.

you can certainly use rasgueado on E gtr as a matter of fact anything that sounds cool goes,but a classical gtr is more appropriate since steel strings will definitely slice through your nails especially on the up strokes,and a little bit of nails are what you need it to make it sound good.

You mean because of the pickups? I do utilise rasquado an the E-guitar. Well, I don't know whether a flamenco guitarist would call them proper rasquados; I'm not trained in this style, I'm just a guitarist feeling very uncomfortable with a pick in his hands and is fascinated with flamenco. I just sort of let all the things- the bluesy licks, the more jazzy phrases, the shredding and my sloppy flamenco\fingerpicking skills melt together hoping to find my style.
