I agree with you i went there for two semesters and couldn't afford plus like none of there credits transfer at all so basically you are washing your money down the drain
I'm going to this school now, and i Have to say I do enjoy the school. I recognize that shitty dorm (which actually arent to bad besides the fact its an extremely dry campus)
He has valid points granted, but some things that are needed to know; the school is obviously a for profit school so you should of know what you were getting in to. im questioning my going here as well but i enjoy the school far to much.
one last thing, if you aren't learning anything than it's you. a teacher teaches you one subject not the whole major. pursuing a degree is a job itself. not to be judgmental here, but you sound like you gave up on school the first six months you were there.
one last thing, are "you" even paying for your education?.
well i have a question for you. you sound "surprised" by everything your saying, but how much research did you really make before entering the school in the first place?. and also, paying $2,000 a quarter for dorms is nothing compared to actually living in an apartment and paying $550-$600 a month. add that up, it's double what your merely collecting in debt and you were there for a year. you had plenty of time to change your situation.
I was trying to go online and it was high as hell and the ppl was acting like they wanted my money and getting mad and shit I said hey, Cancel my admission!!
@XRvd15X Just go to a normal college that offers graphic design. It's a lot cheaper or if you want you can just try to teach yourself how to draw and try to land an art job when you are good enough. A lot of artist don't even have a high school education. My one friend who is a teacher she's proud of me for doing so well without having any teaching and she's an art teacher she even said that art college isn't worth it so I wouldn't go to it I almost went but too much money.
unfortunate. I am currently attending AI of CA- San Francisco. AIP is the main AI....more like corporate AI. FYI: the school is for-profit. I am currently studying Media Arts and Animation with a plan of transferring to GAD with a supportive focus on programming. For programming classes, I am definately sticking to my local junior college. A lot of people do leave AI for the cost....dont get me wrong, its EXPENSIVE. Good luck! Hope for the best!
"In hopes that students from these schools might be able to submit their information into an online database. Just go to the Campus Progress website and click "for profit colleges" then scroll down and click "submit your story"
It is Expensive everywhere you go and tuition increase every year in October. Actually, is more than 8 hours now for an automatic failure. It is all about the learning styles that are emphasized where the U of Phoenix is OBSESSED with reading and writing an OBSCENE amount of material. Forget the meal plan. how about covering the books' expenses in tuition!
I truely feel your pain, dude. I was a former Tute-Rat (still one in heart.) What they failed to tell you, was that Alleghney Hall has a curse upon it. Sure, they're convently located next to two cemetaries;between three rivers, and that it sometimes snaows for some reason in July....
100,000 dollars for a bachlor's degrees its spread out over 3-4 years. If its 4 years that's about 25,000 (3 years: 33,333ish) which is a normal tuition rate for most private schools. Since its private you should EXPECT the high cost. No offense but your argument is invalid.
@thesexysnake10 His argument is valid. Ai is scamming kids into 150,000 debts with no way to pay. They just want to lure people in for the government loans and grants. employees have come forward against them. the company was telling their employees to get in anyone and everyone. They're open enrollment. Employees admitted the fraud and now the government is suing their parent company for 11 billion dollars. his argument is valid as ever.
@mikehext Yeah I figured that out a while ago. Hence why I decided to check out other schools instead for Film. Didn't know they were being sued though. I think I'll pass that along to my friend Brenden who's going there.
@thesexysnake10 For most people, the price isn't the main issue. It's the fact that the education you receive just isn't worth 25 grand a year. I went through a couple quarters and didn't learn shit. AI is a terrible school
I left the Art Institute for the exact same reason. I was going for my Bachelors in Graphic Design, but after a year I realized that I wasn't learning anything new in class. I knew more than my teachers, and I learned more by finding information myself compared to what the teachers taught. It's too expensive, and it's smarter to freelance in the Graphic Design world, rather than trying to get into the cutthroat professional world and not make a great salary.
Sort like when you realize that you really enjoy drafting and space planning and are stuck in the Interior Design program that has a lot of other Bullshit elements that you really don't care for.

@FLIPINOM4D Heh... It better just be a figure of speech. Anyways, why would you even go to the college if you couldn't afford it? It's an easy prediction to make; whether you can afford it for the full four years or not...
