I've had my Pro 600 for 3 years and *very* happy with it. Every time I hear about problems with these, it always seems to be from pushing it past recommended limits (check out the video with someone mixing dough at high speed - that's bright).
@kevininjc i'm one of those complainers but i used the recommended speed and i made bread about once a week with their recipie. and the machine lasted just over a year. my kid had the same problem, he just had hisrepaired and they told him to only use speed 2 for the bread recipie. so they were wrong and it cost me an extra 150 dollars to find that out.
I have the professional 600 575watt and they are really noisy...That bothers me,makes me think it is going to tear up...I don't use it much because I just don't cook as much as I use too,but I do love what all it can do...

My pro600 transmission failed after two months. Google it and you'll see many unhappy KA owners.

KitchenAid looks good, Cuisinart works good. KitchenAid used to be a good brand but has turned to crap.

I own two of these and they are worth every penny I spent. I bought all of the extras too.
