Great Party - stupid idea. It wont work. Its lunatic math. Do you really think new homes can pay 23% tax? Or that cancer patients, nursing home care, will pay 23% extra? To make 23% work, virtually ALL sales will be taxed, including RENT. But one by one, groups will get exemptions -- renters, new home buyers, cancer patients, nursing homes, the military, etc, -- all will get exemptions. So 23% changes to 40-50% to make up for it. You morons would be laughed at for 100 years.

Let me explain how this cannot gain new taxes from "pimps"(lol) unless prices go up, for those who still don't get it:

Let's say Pimpy McPimp now spends 50,000 a year on living expenses that would be taxed under NST. If prices don't go up with the "inclusive" NST, Pimpy doesn't spend more-- he spends the 50k still, and in fact he gets a "prebate."

So not only does he not pay any more-- he gets money back, for a NET GAIN for pimps.

If prices don't rise, this is a "Pimp Windfall"...

What company has a 20 percent profit margin? Average companies have 5 to 7 percent profits.  Wal-Mart operates at 3.5. Any company that runs at 20 percent profit will be killed by competition. That's the beauty of capitalism.

The current tax system is beyond fixing! Under the Fair Tax, people are taxed based on what they spend, not what they earn. That would make the US the biggest tax haven in the world and bring back all the jobs lost to other countries because of our confiscatory tax laws. Read John Linder's and Neal Boortz's book if you want the facts. And do a Google search for all the research compiled by economists. It's staggering.

The FairTax will double tax those who save? Whoever said that doesn't understand the FairTax. Actually, the current tax system double taxes savings. It taxes your income before you deposit it in the bank. Then it taxes the interest that you earn. The FairTax would tax neither.

The FairTax is by far the most researched and peer reviewed tax replacement alternative ever. I didn't understand the gentleman who thought it was bad that companies with a 1% profit margin would pay the same tax as a company with a 20% profit margin. Ya buddy, they will. 0%!! That's ZERO! The FairTax creates a positive business environment by eliminating, among others, the corporate income tax which ultimately only gets passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices anyway!

FairTax advocate, Neal Boortz is a not an honest or honorable man. The day after the Virginia Tech shootings Boortz blamed the students for their own murders. He fabricated the story of how they were killed and he falsely claimed that they did nothing to defend themselves. Several people died in their efforts to protect others.

The biggest tax scam ever conceived is the notion that businesses pay taxes. The only ones that pay taxes are we, the people. If a business's income is taxed, it simply gets the money back in 1 of 3 ways. Raises prices, lowers wages, or reduces dividends paid to stockholders (individual's like you and me).
