Nice production. I just wanted to say that you kicked ass with Buddy's band, were one of the first guys I ever heard to use RotoSounds (I'm assuming), your tone was ridiculous, you played so well on the 'live' double album, and were so far ahead of your time. All of that still holds water today, a mere 40 years later. Yuda Man. My compliments and regards.
Yes, it was David Hull's ancestor, Isaac, who was America's first naval war hero (besided John Paul Jones, no relation to the Led Zeppelin bass player). Among other things, he was involved in America's first war after the revolution: An invasion of Libya.
Charlie Karp's grandfather, an American admiral, was the commander of a number of ships during the D-Day invasion at Normandy during WWII.
I have reason to believe that this David Hull is a descendant of Isaac Hull, the commander of the U.S.S. Constitution during the War Of 1812; one of America's first Naval war heros. Both Hulls were from Connecticut, both of them moved to the Boston area. Isaac Hull actually lived in Newton, Ma. for awhile; ironically, the same neighborhood where Buddy Miles used to live when David was in his band.
Ironically as well, who is also descended from an American naval war hero is-
Such good taste. Now I know what happened to good rock...., it got better. Clever lyrics,. excellent tune, Video produced with off-beat (but right on) humor and creativity. A real pleasure to hear. .. a refreshment for these ears. Modest yet formidable showcase of an underrated multi-talented guy. Deserves to be heard worldwide.
I saw David with James Montgomery and James Cotton...didn't know he sang solo. Good song and he's got a sense of humor. Love the "special effects" and use of hardware, plus he's got lyrics in the CD case. \m/
I am having a problem with this tune. I can`t figure out what I like better, the song or the video. So nice to hear real music again. Great work lads...I mean I could hear Al Green singing this. How cool would that be? Fabulous.........
I love the video...Esp. the caulking trombone! You and I are gonna confuse the hell out of people though...we'll have to figure that one out. Maybe we should join forces.
Really like this, Brynn, thanks for turning me on to it, just my cup of tea! Fun & simple, fresh video, great sounds, nice Hammond in there, and above all, very nice song! All the best to you David and Brynn!
WOW! What an original......especially the setting and props! The music is great and I'm sure will be a hit. Congratulations to you, Brian and David! Great job!
Happy Birthday Dave! Great job! Can't wait to hear the rest of the disc. I'll be e-mailing the link, posting on facebook etc. Let's get the air play it deserves! Peace brother!
David, this is catchy as hell and really nicely produced and performed, nice work.
