you click on replay mission on any mission and the difficulty modes should come up...go to fps mode ;) hope this helps

You have to beat the game on hard to get FPS mode.

How did you get a pistol on the first level?

I'm doing it on FPS mode which you unlock after completing it once. I mention it after the second quick time event
