The Swedes must be doing something right. I just read in the New York Times they have one the most stable economies. Seems like the build a pretty tough fighter jet too!
@IIDaysleeperII piss-poor or not they sell extremely well USA and Russia earn tons of money from fighter jets sales, while sweden gets dimes from leasing,wtf even in south africa back in 1999 you couldn't sell without bribing.
Even Luxembourg operates F16s.
I suppose there's always Malta,Andorra,Lihtenstein available for leasing.

America always apply political pressure and obviously the americans pack a heavier punch than the swedes when it comes too foreign policy and buisness. Guess they´re also better at lying and promising things that they don´t deliver.
@anaspapas Would be happy if Malta, Andorra, Lichtenstein decided to lease or buy Gripen. Small countries enjoying one of the best fightersystems out there.
Avesome plane that should be the fighter of choice for all european countries. I oppose the polish governments decision choosing the F16 for our airforce.
@mistbooster I'm not entirely sure but my guess is that Sweden probably could make the software themselves if they wanted to, but it's easier/cheaper to just lease an already made and fully functional system. I mean, they Do have the capacity to do it... Or there might be some sort of patent or w/e that stops them from making it.
