Thank you very much ! I have an Equium U400 and followed you instructions to repair the mouse button. It was very similar. You helped me stop breaking the case and to check I got all the screws out first without being impatient. I really appreciate your effort to post this.
i did everything the way you did. and was able to fix the left click button on my Toshiba Satellite L645D-S4036 and after i reassembled it the power button would not work, would you be able to help?
@X201SynysterA7X You must have forgotten, or not inserted one of the wires properly. It should be one of the wires that you unplugged after removing the keyboard. Tell me how it goes!
I have a problem with my toshiba laptop too but mines is a toshiba satellite l455-s5008 which looks just like urs and the problem with mines is the dc power jack port, do you have any vids that shows how to replace that? let me know thanks!
@rebels786 I guess because mine was only $320 brand new, things like this are expected for being so cheap. At lest nothing else has gone bad yet! Some people hate these laptops. I love mine!
Hey thanks for the video! I have the exact same laptop and had the exact same problem. I watched your video then got my tools and did everything with you step by step. The only thing I did differently was I used some gel superglue to glue my button back in place.
You did a nice job with the video, Keep up the good work, maybe one day some big company will hire you to do their Tech repair videos for big bucks !!
Nice work. I do have a question for you. I noticed on the right button, that there were two plastic retainer pieces on each side of the button (top and bottom). On the left button (broken), there was two on the top, but one on the bottom. Was one of them broken?
@MrKakridge78 No, I don't think anything was broken. If anything is broken it does not affect the operation of the button. Because I have been using it ever since and I have had no problems. Hot glue probably was not the best kind of glue because my laptop gets pretty hot sometimes. But as I said before I have had no problems yet.
Nice job ( : I did a similar repair on my cousins Toshiba laptop with the DC jack, which was separate from the motherboard and just held in by a thin bit of plastic on the base module. The plastic had completely snapped from the stress of general use leaving the DC jack free to move around.
Thank you

@luckyabe20 No, I do not have any videos on how to do that. I have seen some DC jack repairs on similar models that could be used as a rough guide.

A big blob of hot glue fixed it though.

Great job! You need a magnetic screwdriver!

@pcsben I have a magnetic screwdriver but I think that magnets can kill your hard drive. Correct me if I'm wrong.
