  • Injections with stem cells have not helped in treating autimmune conditions. The only positive cases have had their immune systems eradicated. It is not something that should be done or tried outside regular hospitals or very specilalized institutions.

It seems the best way to go but it is not without risk.

  • It's important to keep in mind that autoimmune ds ie, MS, IBD etc, usually does not repsond to stem cell injections. I've heard a positive claim or 2, but for the thousands that haven't had any luck, what does that tell you? A better model of success seems to be rebuilding the immune system with stem cell transplant after immune system eradicated - risky - PEOPLE HAVE DIED. NEWS FLASH - XCELL CLINIC IN GERMAY CLOSED - 2 DEATHS - GOV'T RAISES LEGISLATURE.

  • As an MD, I've studied immune reconstruction.. This is a bit different from today's clinical approach, of simply traveling to China or Germany, paying 25k and up and receiving your own filtered bone marrow, of course.. But the price is outrageously expensive and needs to be made affordable for simple IV and localised treatments, that's for sure..

  • You need to understand that Embryonic Stem cells DO NOT mean the destruction of embryos, IF they are cloned from a cell line.. Adult stem cells are fine to use, but the future will most likely reveal that BOTH have applications and limitations. Another serious issue is the overpricing. Stem cell treatments can now be offered at a fraction of the price, but profiteering is stopping this. If prices were reduced, multiple treatments can be sought, without disappointment upon marginal success

  • I love his daughter Jess!!!! Great girl.

  • This treatment can be fatal. People have died having this procedure done to them. Notice this clip says "Some patients have gone into remission". and "Not All patients have gone into remission." Meaning it did nothing for some people who had it done. And if it did work there is no guaranty that MS won't come back again soon after. This is going about it the wrong way. Especially if CCSVI is the cause of MS.

  • Is there a place to go to see the full interview?

  • I have had MS for 32 years. Will stem cell therapy help me, and if not, why not? If it will help me, how do I get in touch with the appropriate persons?

  • Search ClinicalTrials*gov . Dr. Burt is recruiting, and that website may have his contact information - or he is centered at Northwestern Momorial Hospital in Chicago and contact may be at his bio on that website or the college's. This treatment works by knocking out the old immune w/radiation and rebuilding w/your scs. Resheathing is extensive and 'replacement' unlikely - which is why embryonic wouldn't work. Beta can dedifferentiate, may work - also numbing pancreatic nerves (not stem cells).

  • He knocks the Immune system out with high doses of chemo therapy and then he loads it back in your system wth Stem Cells, It alos costs 100,000 dollars, it isnt cheap at all. No insurance either because its not coveed by insurance, its a clinical trial. Its not FDA approved yet, so insurance companies dont cover it.

  • This is in ClinicalTrials*gov, # NCT00315133 . Don't know cost, usually they are a few thousand for expenses, though. Some have been able to get insurance to pay for some in his lupus / crohn's trials because the process itself is not experimental - just for this condition. Regardless, it is something available today.

  • interesting..

  • That's Amazing!
