  • Try lake erie my best is 7pounds and 5 ounces

  • @Hopdity3 7 pound 4 ounces here nothing like it

  • why would you fish for small mouth with a tiny rod. if you would catch an actual big one your rod would break.

  • @TheSixburgh Because at this particular lake, smallmouths only grow as big as this one in the video.

  • Also whoever was trashing her for using a net, you keep right ahead not using your net :p Ive lost tons of fish for that reason alone, nets are very handy and you should use them for anything besides bitty panfish

  • Live bait fishing isn't a sport. And using a net to land smallys isn't sporting.

  • @mzyzer19 No live bait was used. Don't assume.

  • @fishingwithrod That's exactly what I said and live bait fishing isn't a sport. And I didn't assume anything the video says that live bait was used.

  • @mzyzer19 No where in the video did it mention live bait was used, and it wasn't. Watch it again, pay attention, and, don't assume.

  • @mzyzer19 ...... Are you kidding me? Live bait doesnt make fishing "Non-sportsmanlike" lol... Theres always someone on youtube who has to be negative.. Live bait is sometimes THE best bait you can use, especially in cold water when the fishs' metabolism has slower down they hit live bait and not soft plastics or crankbaits.. give the girl some respect, it doesnt matter if your fishing plugs or jigging minnows, fishing is fishing and fishing IS a sport reguardless of the bait used.

  • haha for once a girl fishing!! awesome

  • @madakopee haha lots of girls fish

  • @bigkranch yah man r u in oregon?

yah im there too and true that river has some nice smallies

  • Sweet! If you're ever on the west coast, check out the Umpqua River. Smallies are everywhere.

  • @bigkranch what size range?

  • tighten the drag.

  • it wasn't that big, it's just that the drag needs to be tightend

  • that smallmouth looked about 18 inches to me. nice fish!

  • Great job landing that fish you guys!

  • Great place to live. Would you happen to know a Grandpa bud up there? like late 60s and retired Vet

  • Tighten your drag! Tighten your drag! Im a bitch! You all sound like little kids repeating that.

  • why did you use a trout net

  • good vid. But you should really stand up.

  • i agree tighten your drag

  • Nice fish I have seen bigger but tightening that drag would make the catch alot easier....

  • with the drag loose gives a better fight

  • Tighten drag!

  • TIGHTEN DRAG ...GREAT VID TIGHTN DRAG

  • tighten your drag

  • w00t not many girls liek to fish lol awesome !

  • use larger line n rod no reason this should have been a 4 min video

  • man I wish i could my old lady to fish with me like that...

  • NICE!!!!!

  • good fishing

  • Nice work with ultra light tackle !!

I don't know what all the criticism if for.

If you used a surf rod you could bring the fish in easy, but fishing is a 'sport', no ?

  • maybe just maybe she has a lite lb test

  • think your drags loose enough?

  • i wish i had a girl that knew how to fish as was actually willing to touch it.

  • @walleyeguy2011 if you had a girl willing to touch it period then you'd be happy...lol just messin around

  • nice fishing i catch some on our bass pond, pretty big smallmouth

  • Tighten your DRAG

  • Your drag is to loose. should of had that fish in days ago...LOL

  • Good stuff Rod im presently developing a new fishing channel and id like to add you to the fucking awsome fishing channel let me know if you have any problems with that good fishing to ya

  • Len,

You are 36 years old. You should have learned an adult vocabulary by now.

  • Ok 1 u had a light takle set up thts y ur pool bent and 2 ur drag needs sum work..lol..

  • a stronger rod would improve things a lot

  • tighten drag it will help you alot!!!!!!1 nice job!

  • nice! but your drag need to be tightened up cause that sound is annoying. lol nice fish

  • When bass fishing, nets are for fairies - lip that thing right in the boat already, geez!

  • at least she caught one, bass fishing is different to any other fishing,i envied her a lot

  • there seems to be a few uneducated people here. so, to clarify:

    1. yes, that is the correct way to hold a bass.

    2. that is a light weight spin casting set up. a tighter drag would have busted the line instantly.

    3. the reel's handle can be on either side.

    you're welcome.

  • lol tighten your drag! lol but hey, it doesnt matter! atleast youre having fun!

  • 1, you need to reset your drag

2,was it live bait or fake

    3,were was it

    4,thats really that big

  • what bait did you use

  • Shrimp

  • lmao im not the only one who uses shrimp!

  • I noticed that she was holding the fish by pinching with her fingers. Isn't that the wrong way to hold a fish?

  • It depends on the fish species that you are holding. When holding a bass, the mouth grab would be the best way. Their spiny rays can do some serious damage to your hands. When holding a salmon or trout on the other hand, the fish should be cradled with both hands instead of the mouth grab. The only way that people should avoid using is to put the fingers underneath the gill plates, which may damage the fish's gills.

  • nice fish

  • beautiful fish to, i love all bass, great game fish, rock bass especially, pound for pound rock bass fight the best

  • way to loose dragg

  • first off all

u have the reel on the wrong side

its on the right side and its suppose to be on the left if im not mistaken

and your drag is so loose that u cant even reel in teh fish without it takin out a huge amount of line

  • you can have the reel either way

  • are u stupid? how is the reel on the wrong side? first off yea ur right the drag is pretty loose but the reel... are u a fucking moron? idk if ur blind or just born stupid but theres nothing wrong with the reel.

  • you are an idiot. if u are left handed usually you use the handle on the right side.

  • first of all,

you can have the reel on either side

shes using light line that would break if her drag was to tight

  • you can use the crank on whatever side you want. Im right handed and mines on the right side. Ive tried doing it the other way like the real comes but I hated it and switched the side the crank was on

  • were u vertical jigging?

  • Yes

  • how exactly do u hold a bass?

  • The best wait is by using your thumb and finger(s) to grab the mouth. Watch out for the sharp spines on the fins.

  • Make sure you guys watch the other bass videos too! We'll be putting up some new ones in a couple of months from now. =)

  • i like largemouth bass better but smallmouth bass put up a good fight

  • Definitely, smallmouth bass can be a lot of fun on light tackle.

  • your a good fisher women but realing against the drag will cause a birds nest in the real. good luck out there

  • while im sure shes a great angler, it was making me cringe watching her reel against the drag while fighting the fish. That usually makes some terrible line twist.

  • Actally, there are now shrimp in the great lakes, and so im sure the bass with be eating them. They came from the Mediterranean sea coming through the ballast tanks from boats. Anyways how big was that fish and im wondering if you guys caught any other type of fish using shrimp?

  • The shrimp that we use are simply deli shrimp that you could purchase from a supermarket, not freshwater shrimp found naturally in lakes. We caught yellow perch as well as cutthroat trout as well with the same bait.

  • interesting and thanks for the response...happy fishing!

  • You're welcome. Also, if you look through my videos, there are two more clips on smallmouth bass fishing with tubebait that were posted about 7 months ago. Enjoy. :)

  • Shrimp?? In freshwater?

  • deli shrimp, similar to the ones you find in a shrimp ring at supermarkets, is a popular freshwater bait in British Columbia Canada. It is typically used for rainbow trout in put and take lakes, but we've found it effective for bass and yellow perch too. A good alternative for entry-level fishermen who are looking for consistent action.

  • is she drop shotting or what method is being implored

  • During this particular outing, she was just fishing by using a piece of small shrimp on the hook. Usually, we are drop shotting with 4" tubebaits.

  • cool, I'm always glad to see it when a girl kicks my ass fishing. Tell her I said post more, and keep up the good work.

  • Thanks for the support. There will be more videos of Nina catching fish in the future for sure. :)

  • she needs to learn how to fight a fish- no offense.

  • She's much more skillful now when it comes to fighting fish. ;)

  • not bad not bad at all. where is this at???

  • St Mary's Lake on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, Canada.

  • lift and reel!

  • nice smallmouth!
