playable vintage recordings exist back into the early 1880's. I've got some in my collection of recordings. ;D

Movies were silent until 1920ish? This was recorded with a wax cylinder and added to the silent film footage.

Oh, the audio was recorded way earlier than the 1920'. IIRC, mid-1890's, at least. If you search the Library of Congress' site, you can probably find exactly when the original cylinder recording was made. The audio in this video came from one of those early cylinders. Either the LOC or the Edison National Historic Site in West Orange, NJ probably has the original source cylinder recording.

You have ballet dancers getting paid to dance, hip hop dancers to dance and your western swing performers getting paid. Soulds like you need to brush up on your english! We have famous native dance troupe and make real good money. why not use this to teach the uneducated person why we dance. people still think we live in tipis and are dances are of the devil. you have educators getting paid why not a native american cultural educator!!!
