and u also have less product on the dish

  • Bought a duo fiber brush yesterday and LOVE it. Thanks so much.Worked great with both my mineal amd liquid foundation...

  • At least spell his name correctly..

    *Koren

  • With all due respect, Koren has given us 2years of fabulously helpful videos & several months ago he debuted his new line of mu brushes so why shouldn't he be able to promo his own sale items. Hey, it's his channel after all. No one's forcing you to purchase his brushes. Personally, while his kabuki brush looks ultra-dense, my mineral mu brush of preference is a dense-flat top brush like the 183, 185 or BE's Heavenly Face brush. But it's nice to have to choices, isn't it?

  • BTW, being that it's small & compact, might very well make an excellent brush to throw in your handbag.

  • THIS VIDEO WAS GOOD INFO. THANKS

  • You are so helpful and thorough in your reviews and tutorials :D Thanks~ it makes it much clearer :)

  • Is it okay to use a traditional kabuki brush on non-mineral makeup (such as a compact blush)?

  • Yeah! I do it all the time! Kabukis just give you this beautiful airbrushed finish :D Hope this helps!!!

  • I love how he says 'Hey everyone'xx

  • seems liek the original kabuki side looked better lol

  • i love listening to him say "welcome back".

    it sounds so funny.

  • Did anyone else notice that he wasnt fair to the traditional brush?...

and he picked up so much for for the 1st than the 2nd!! jeez...

  • great video koren I'll be buying some of your brushes your great :)

  • Well, No Wonder I'm looking like the Sahara dessert! Duh! Bless your sweet, sweet heart & thanks!

  • Thanks so much for this video Koren. I love mineral makeup but have never been able to make my regular kabuki work for that perfect finish! Luv ya, Tima x

  • I think most people wouldn't just dip their kabuki brush into a mound of powder. They would probably swirl it in the powder. It's like you purposely put an excessive ammount of powder on the traditional kabuki just to make yours look better.

Too much like an infomercial for me.

  • I don't see where he dipped it in a mound of powder? He used the dish just like he used it for his brush....

  • what is the brand of this brush?

  • its his own line of brushes I believe. check out his site

  • how do you clean the brush?? and how often??

  • weekly, thats how often I clean any of my face brushes depending on which foundation I use and how I store them, liquid foundation brushes should be washed more often because bacteria sticks to them easier. clean it with gentle cleanser or baby shampoo.

  • Thanks for the tip!

  • Sorry! I absolutely adore the video and think your duo kabuki is amazing! I can't wait to get one. I accidentally rated it 2 stars, but I meant more!

  • will def get me that kabuki!

  • omg i want that fiber kabuki for my liquid foundation!!

  • An optical fiber is a cylindrical dielectric waveguide that transmits light along its axis, by the process of total internal reflection.

  • That's what I kept thinking. I understand what he's trying to say but he's got the wrong wording.

  • Koren i do love you but this was kind of to much of a comercial...

  • my thoughts exactly

  • It's hard to do a video about your own product without sounding like a commercial.

  • HIIII Enkore where can I purchase the brush?

  • Thanks Koren. Before I have no idea how to put my make up on. But i've learned a lot fro m you gurus, esp from you because you are so detailed in explaining things. Always looking forward for your next tutorial. *_*

  • That's an insane way to use a regular kabuki. I put a tiny bit in the lid then swirl it into the brush tap off and swirl it into my skin, that was ridiculous.

  • yup, i think my regular kabuki does a similar job

  • wow i want that brush!

the foundation looked so good when applied with it, am defo going to give this a try!!

    xx

  • Excellent video! Thank you!

  • WOW! it looks great! i cant wait to get paid, so i can order this :)

  • i find i dont get enough coverage if i use a duo fibre brush its just not as good as the traditional brush as it takes alot longer to apply btu thats just my opinion

  • Does anyone know where you can get those little petri dishes? thanks

  • not sure about petri dishes but i use the following:

glass candle holder, eyelash cases (once my eyelashes are finished) and my old sheer cover jar.

you can use anything as long as it can be easily washed.

  • Old CD's work too.

  • they're scars. it's not his fault!

  • its not his fault he has blemishes, no body is perfect

  • That was amazing, what a difference. Think of how much a person can save on product. .! I am saving up for your brushes. Thanks for the video........................

  • hey koren, thank u for sharing this with us!

I sitll have a question left, will any duo fiber brush work this way or is it just the kabuki?

  • Most duo-fiber brushes will provide that kind of 'air-brushed' finish. I personally use Sigma's SS188 for my liquid foundation, as i prefer the smaller and flat topped brush.

  • thank you very much from Italy!

  • Very informative ! Thanks ! I have one question. How does this brush compare to the 187 ?

  • is it alright if i only have liquid foundation on and no powder cuz that's how i usually wear foundation

  • hey koren i just loved this video but i have a question im am very very pale white and i was wondering if u know of any foundation that i could get that wouldnt turn me orange? thanks :)

  • lol im pale to and i always turn orange

i use light ivory and mix a lil baby powder with it it all i can do

  • i'm really pale too, i wear covergirl aquasmooth in 'ivory' it's their lightest colour and i find that suits my skin tone, or else i've tried the revlon colourstay in 'ivory' also. every other foundation ive tried is too dark. but two thumbs up for covergirl aquasmooth!

  • thank you so much...you seem so nice :)

  • but using a traditional kabuki brush you dont stick the brush right into the powder... isnt that why you tap it into a lid using just enough makeup vs stickin it inot the powder obviously picking up to much powder, the first place you touch your brush foundation/shadow/blush onto the face it always goes on heavier especially if your just sticking that much powder onto your cheek, its going to look cakey

  • Wow! I can't wait to get my hands on that brush! : )

  • Are you filipino?

  • OMG, Koren, you hit the spot with this video, thank u soo much for making it. I have a question. Is the kabuki brush so pose to shed? mine seems to shed , and i get pieaces of kabuki hairs on my face. got any tips?

Thanks so much for you time love ya :) take care.

  • thank you for sharing these tips :)

  • Thanks for coming out with these great brushes! I can't wait to get some!

  • Hi Koren!

Would you recommend this over the 109?

    Great video =)

  • what happened to the opening music?

  • Koren, Can I get the same benefits and even finish if I use this duo fiber kabuk brush in cream foundation?

  • im definitely going to buy this brush!! im amazed!

  • I noticed you're wearing a bandanna in most of your videos.

  • it's easier to see his face with out the hair in front of it.

  • hey i just noticed that too

  • I may not have any money right now ( MAC killed me lol) but when I get paid im going to buy some of your stuff..I intend on buying everything you have! love you xxxxx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I want this brush!!! but for the regular kabuki brush, the steps are usually dip, swirl, tap and buff.. u forgot to swirl, when you swirl the brush it takes the coverage less cakey! :)

  • Love your videos and your energy

  • running over to your store to buy one!!!

  • who makes the brush, where can u buy one and how much does it cost? Loved the video

  • what if you use a fast drying liquid foundation?...i usally wet a sponge too apply it helps with the blending but i hate...using sponges seems more time consuming?..could u wet the brush?..

  • What kind of camera do you use, Koren?

  • Great tutorial!

  • Won't the fibers clump together like the 187 you showed in another video?

  • Dude you are ah-mazing!!!!!!

  • Holy Crap.

    A duo fiber kabuki brush??

    Amazing.

    :D

  • Thank you very much!!

  • this quality is great ! this is your new camera right ?! NICCCCe

  • I'm impressed! I was surprised at how much of a difference there was between the 2 kabuki brushes. Thank you! Big hugs!

  • EXCELLENT! Thanks Koren. :)

  • You have beautiful eyes.

  • awesome! im buying one :) your so good at selling things, hah you sound like an infomercial.. but in a good way!

  • thanks for ur time in showing this tut. I also would like to pinpoint that aside from saving us money on foundation purchase that we also save time since a lot of us nowadays are women on the go and we just can't sppend too much time outting our make-up in the morning so thanks love for another great tut. :)

  • Ur so good at what you do !! love ur videos!!

  • So true- caking is human error! so many like to blame products and brushes when their makeup doesn't turn out how they want it.

  • intresting vid :)

  • EXCELLENT VID! really helps me with my application issues!

  • thnkx lot

  • wow i like you bruch

  • This might be a stupid question...but is there a special way to clean kabuki brushes or do you just clean them the same way you clean other brushes?

  • the same way. it is just a little bit harder.

  • thank you!

  • Looks interesting, but I have never picked up alot of product on my kabukis and also i would prefer a longer handle like Smashbox for my next kabuki. I do love Duo fiber though.

  • Awesome! Thanks Koren!!

  • HI there, I keep seeing messages that the video quality is bad, no pun intended but have you ever considered that the video problem is coming from your end ie: computer, internet speed? i do not have that problem i see it crystal clear.

  • i love your vidss:P

  • what should I use to prime my face before i apply mineral makeup?

  • i want to buy this kabuki but i'm from germany.

    can i order it?

  • Yes, his store ships international! :)

  • Koren its kinda hard to see the finish the brush does. I dunno why but the video quality isn't that great.

  • reload it, it should be clearer no it completes the process

  • Okay thanks thats much better!! =)

  • Haha!!! Okay! Thanx so much!!!

  • The quality of this video is very bad! What is wrong with your camera?

  • reload it again, should be clearer

  • Sorry, but I coudn't see any difference because the camera, bad quality!

  • it just finished loading so watch it again, should be clearer

  • is the duo fiber brush from mac?? or what brand is it??

  • its his store online look in the description box

  • the duo fiber brush is from his site. He sells that stuff and i think its pretty good.

  • No, I think the duo fiber kabuki is one of his own brushes. You can purchase them on his website (see information box at the right for the site).

  • But the cover is sheerer with the duo fabric kabuki brush no?

  • Yes. This brush is great for a lot of things but the coverage will be sheer. I always wear my makeup with full coverage because I have blemishes but for errands or whatever, this is great.

  • wow i just realised I have had a duo fiber kabuki from ecotools the whole time xD and now i actually know how to use it

  • What´s wrong with your camera? The quality it´s not as good as normal.

    Saludos

  • how would this work with cream foundation?

  • I'm glad u showed how to set the foundation I was putting on to much powder and I was buffing the powder into long, Thanx

  • What´s wrong with your camera? The quality it´s not so good as normal.

    Saludos

  • It just finished loading - watch it again should be clearer

  • does the pink kabuki from coastal do the same job as the duo fiber kabuki? just wondering?

  • Hi Koren sorry to say this but this comparsion is not objective..

to use less product with standard kabuki you can simply put less foundation to the lid (or whatever you use)and that way it doesn't get cakey at all..I don't say duo fiber kabuki is bad(especially to liquid foundation) but I wouldn't say this particular argument convince me..

  • i want that kabuki lol

  • This was great. I can tell you really like this brush. You are very cute with excitement, kinda like me and a new lipstick. I just recently discovered dual fiber and I really like them. I am oily t-zone and sometimes I have liquid foundation separation issues. But I do not if I use a dual fiber. Plue the coverage is AMAZING. I am SO getting this brush *clapping hands in excitment*

  • wouldnt a duo fiber stippling brush work just as well?

i mean, all the stippling ones i've seen are duo filber, so i'm thinking the woould work just as well

i use a stippling brush for mineral and liqud and it seems to have the same effect.

the video was very informative, but i still am going to stick to my stippling brush.

it seems to have the same effect.

thanks for the tip, it seems like a great thing to try. :)

  • When i put foundation over my expression lines, it gets into them sooner or later..

  • If you use a face primer like Smashbox Photofinish Primer, it'll prevent that from happening so soon!

  • Koren,

Thank you for making this video, I am having this problem with my mineral foundation. At work I noticed that my makeup was looking caked and I wasnt sure why. Im going to try the duo fiber kabuki brush. =]

  • its so nice im going to get it!

  • That looks interesting!

  • i hate how the handle is short

  • is there a way the kabuki brush can have a longer handle almost like the mac one??

    thanks koran!!

  • Coastal scents has a kabuki "on a stick" but it isnt dual fiber
