lol, ive used my cell phone and social networking sights to do some illegal stuff, but the police have never showed up at my door? i think you people are just paranoid. i do believe that the government uses these things to keep tabs on people, but you guys are just blowing it out of porportion.
Not just cell phones - all phones are tracked thru Echelon - along with everything else. The clever part is making people WANT to be tracked, via sites such as Twitter. Anyone already participating in these things, however, will have no interest in abstaining from them:
"We want you Big Brother" - David Bowie
"He's making a list, checking it twice, gonna find out who's naughty or nice"
I salute this true Patriot. It warms my heart to know there are others who still value liberty over convenience. I just hope the constitution man uses proxy servers and coffee shops to upload his videos as they can trace IP addresses as well.
GPS doesn`t work like that. A (non phone) GPS is a receiver, not a transmitter. The satellites are sending out continuous time codes, all your GPS does is read the time codes and compare them with each other to see how far away each satellite is. Once it knows this it`s simple trigonometry.
If you`re going to say they put secret transmitters in every GPS, why use GPS at all? Why not just put the transmitters in engine blocks, as people have to actually register for new and second hand cars?
Do not have a cell or a GPS, never have. I am pushing 39. I'll call when I reach a land line and I will use a compass if I lose my way. Unfortunatly, most cannot use a compass. What will happen, if for some reason, technology is down or completely gone? Many, will be lost. Physically and mentally.
@SpringChatty hey that is a good point. I saw a clip about a lady who was stalked by her ex from software he bought. creepy. Yet I think it is wrong for government to do this using our cellphones. they have tapped suspects for decades but to sell cellphones to anyone and spy well that is not freedom.

Umm we still learn about the founding of America and all of that. Just thought I'd say that.

@Furyright No you don't, all you learn now are the basics, not the story, or the arguments and debates of the federalist and anti-federalists papers.

@TheConstitutionMan
okay. I just wanted others to know that anybody can do it, not just government and I think that is a very sad violation of privacy to all.
