@DafniElissa Always remember to relax your arms and shoulders and use the most natural fingering you can. I studied this prelude years ago and it's already hard for a male cause you need a lot of strenght in your fingers overall if you have a damn-hard-keyboard :)
@miliona1re I definitely have a damn-hard-keyboard!! Yes I do all that you advice me to, but I'm glad when it hurts 'cause it means my muscles (of the fingers and hand, not arm or shoulder!) are "working" :)
The best interpretation along with Gilels :-)) Weissenberg is one of the extraordinary artists who performed in the tradition of Rachmaninoff the pianist, along with Horowitz, Gilels, Moiseiwitsch, very few others. Richter is in my top group, however his interpretative style is mostly not Rach-like, not until late in his performing career.
By far my favorite interpretation. Weissenberg is my favorite interpreter of Rach pieces. He is rivaled only by Richter in my opinion. Amazing pianist!!!

@DafniElissa I was playing it at about 66 for crotchet. It's a Maestoso so there'sno need to run.
If your keyboard is too heavy you can ask a technician to make it lighter like ,in part,I did.
