To be perfectly frank, I think Candombe is extremely annoying and not at all as sentimental as people say. But this has nothing to do with Blacks or even black culture. I just think that if you look at this form of art from a technical music point of view, it is nothing but a raw expression of intervals that are not in the least pleasant to the ear. But, I love tango and milonga, I think someone said they were derived from afro-latinos.
I understand your sentiment & theory, but the Africans used religion & rituals how they need to adapt to their lives & not how a person outside of their culture views it. The purpose why any people would do anything or projects themselves into existence is not based on what you would like them to do or to be. But on what is practical for a people to exist & to express what meets their needs for whatever their lives need as whole people or as an individual. Opinions are not culture, only Theory!
@radioclash9 There's no doubt about there being sentiment in this form of musical expression. I just personally find it annoying probably because I never saw it as a part of my culture (even though I'm from Argentina), so I can't relate to it at all.

La causa de que hoy no hay afroargentinos en nuestro pais es debido a una politica racista asquerosa. Fueron usados como carne de cañon en las guerras de la independencia (San Martin tenia regimientos enteros de negros, el sargento Cabral era negro) y en la del Paraguay. Puta madre... quien dijo que no hay descendientes africanos en Argentina... principalmente murieron muchisimos a fines del siglo XIX por la fiebre amarilla. Por eso hay muy pocos mulatos, ahora son una minoria etnica, aunque tmb hay mucho inmigrantes de Senegal y otros paises de Africa que tienen grandes problemas politicos y economicos... pero siguen siendo una minoria etnica. Perhaps, as I've said, early generic proto-human DNA is purely African (although not plausible) but your argument uses both a sentiment for equality--which I highly respect--and Biological fact. I do believe all people are equally capable biologically speaking, but at the same time we are, in many respects, different. Our origin cannot, as many traits, be categorized under one umbrella fact.

@radioclash9 I think there is a misunderstanding here. I mean that all DNA does not come from the continent of Africa. I am talking about the sort of generic categorization we have of all humans--whether they be of a certain race or even species. Although I do believe we all came from a single place, I think many species of proto-human were shaping their own biological branch within our species elsewhere. If you trace our species back to Africa, you will not find a HUMAN common ancestor.

That being said, I also think it is undeniable that different people with different cultures and sometimes different races behave in different ways. I am not a racist. Everyone has an equal potential, but you can't ignore certain biologial differences. I am not saying one is better than the other, but that they simply exist.

disculpame, quizas me este equivocando, pero en realidad esos tucumanos sean mestizos (descendientes de indigenas) y no aforargentinos... a veces los mestizos son de piel morena pero no son afrodescendientes... estoy en lo cierto?

Hula, ayer mismo le hice la pregunta a mi amigo y me dice que es que es de ascendencia africana argentina y que si bien es cierto que son un pequeño porcentaje. Pero si, son negros, no como Senegaleses, osea africanos 100%, pero negros claros como los de este video. Saludos.

Porque Argentina nunca foi um importante porto do esclavos como foi o Brasil. Alem disso, a maioria da comunidade afroaargentina foi morrendo nas guerras y com a vinda da febre amarela. Mas ainda ha muitos negros aqui. O tango, nossa musica, por exemplo... tem origens negros.

Si hay negros en Argentina - no muchos pero los pocos que hay ahora son mulatos. Parte del tango como se baila y todo vino de los afro argentinos. Si lees martin fierro el habla de un negro gaucho. Que lo hay si lo hay eso no creo que se niege.

Puta madre... quien dijo que no hay descendientes africanos en Argentina... principalmente murieron muchisimos a fines del siglo XIX por la fiebre amarilla. Por eso hay muy pocos mulatos, ahora son una minoria etnica, aunque tmb hay mucho inmigrantes de Senegal y otros paises de Africa que tienen grandes problemas politicos y economicos... pero siguen siendo una minoria etnica. No es un comentario racista pero hay muy pocos en Argentina a comparacion de otros paises.

La mayoria de los negros en la ARGENTINA,al igual que en su vecino Chile,desaparecieron no por EXTINCION,ni por MIGRACION,sino por MISCIGENACION,esto es,a traves de la mezcla biologica de mas de tres siglos y medio con el resto de la poblacion,principalmente la blanca,pero tambien muchos se mazclaron con los indios nativos,y con los mestizos (mezcla del blanco con el indio).Es un apena y una lastima que,la historiografia "OFICIAL" del pais, haya estado IGNORANDO esta circunstancia.....

Claro que,los mulatos a su vez se mezclarian en su gran mayoria con el resto de la poblacion,tanto los criollos,como los inmigrantes blancos de Europa (principalmente españoles e italianos),y,como ellos (tanto los negros,como los mulatos y zambos) siempre fueron una minoria demografica,los rasgos raciales propios e identificativos de la raza negroide,se fueron,con el transcurrir del tiempo "DILUYENDO" por decirlo asi,entre el resto de la poblacion argentina.Deberian de enseñar mas esto....

Blacks have been their for 500 years. Blacks & Mulatos created the Tango. They fought & died for Argentina in the Guerra de la Triple Alianza. No Black, Mulato, Mestizo, or White is pure. If you're talking about people in an evolutionarily advanced state of simple abstract and intuitive knowledge, than you're wrong. Australopithecus-Florensis (yeah i spelled it wrong) was the proto-human from which all others derived. Only it was found in Africa as a common ancestor.

Perhaps, as I've said, early generic proto-human DNA is purely African (although not plausible) but your argument uses both a sentiment for equality--which I highly respect--and Biological fact. I do believe all people are equally capable biologically speaking, but at the same time we are, in many respects, different. Our origin cannot, as many traits, be categorized under one umbrella fact.

All DNA is African. because let me tell u why. if Adam and Eve are real people what would their blood type be? or what would be the blood type of the first people on earth? there is only one answer; O positive. Do u know about blood? I have O positive blood. So I could be any race, in theory. but blood does not lie! A person with O positive blood is a universal donor and can give blood to any Race on this earth, but cannot receive blood from anyone except from the same, blood type. checkmate

@radioclash9 I think there is a misunderstanding here. I mean that all DNA does not come from the continent of Africa. I am talking about the sort of generic categorization we have of all humans--whether they be of a certain race or even species. Although I do believe we all came from a single place, I think many species of proto-human were shaping their own biological branch within our species elsewhere. If you trace our species back to Africa, you will not find a HUMAN common ancestor.

But you are trying to disprove something because something inside you is afraid. what u have been told or have seen based on the human reality of peoples daily lives does not determine their potential. there was a time when the Greeks felt the way you did about the Romans and their culture before the Romans actually realized the necessity to Hellenize themselves. @radioclash9 I didn't mean to ignorantly categorize the potential of different people. As I have said before, I think we are all humans and therefore equal. Period. That being said, I also think it is undeniable that different people with different cultures and sometimes different races behave in different ways. I am not a racist. Everyone has an equal potential, but you can't ignore certain biologial differences. I am not saying one is better than the other, but that they simply exist.

If human beings sprouted up independent as you say, they still would have a common origin! And that is what makes us Human Together. we all share a common Humanity, if we allow ourselves to dwell on the biological then how can we consider ourselves more than just civilized animals. we are smarter than bio

@radioclash9 Well sure, we humans are all equally special for our ability to conduct abstract and intuitive thought, but that doesn't mean we have to ignore cultural and racial influences. I think both aspects make up our humanity. This gives us our human preferences that distinguish us from animals. Biological doesn't mean in accordance to predictable tendencies that do not give justice to human thought--it simply means in a natural way. I shouldn't have used it as an umbrella term.

Nor do i accept that biological factors determine anything that can be intellectualized based on variations of humanity within cultural contexts that unify an entire Race or nationality of people. Man speaks any language because people need to communicate. Culture at its basic; is repetitive behaviors that are experienced or accepted by a tribe or a band of people as normalcy. Culture & Race are a choice, but DNA is not

So people form cultures and races without thinking otherwise because of its instinctive acceptance or pre-established normalcy within the greater human species. I had another perspective in which cultures and races are simply formed (by biology--be it premeditated or not) and thought that you were refuting the existence of self-created human differences.

yes, you grasped my point. You & I do not really disagree on much. Biology is not self-created differences. Biology is not conscious thought. But part of a natural cycle; like a flower germs from a seed. For example, Koreans used to use Chinese to write their language; the Hanja. But in 1443, their great King Sejong gathered scholars to create their own writing system that any common citizen of Korea could master. So language is a choice & conscious thought & not fate or biology. so we agree

if i chose to, I could live my life as a Chinese. But I am not Chinese or a Russian. I do not have to look like a Russian or Chinese to be Russian or to be Chinese, because culture has nothing to do with Race. And that is why being Black or African is not a Race, it is a culture. i have red hair, red skin, and Mongolian eyes from two Mongolian ancestors but yet, I am considered a mulato. Race is an idea, not the absolute truth. Now DNA is God's flashlight & DNA can not be explained in theories
