so...how do you know when you've been shot or when you've shot someone else? when you see them face to face? this really is pointless. trust Americans to love war so much they want to pretend they are in one.
@MultiSpazzo They do not do this to feel like they are in a war, they do this to remember their ancestors that died in WWII (besides the 18-21 year olds, they are here for the former :P)
@Lio2102 ah, dont mind me, i was feeling particularly grumpy that day, i really ought to keep off youtube in such circumstances. who am i to tell people how to remember these brave souls, and moreover, who am i to tell people how to have fun! fair play to the lot of you! love from Glasgow, Bonny Scotland. ;-D
@thewulfone "Ignoramus". love that word. I am not one, however. If you read all my comments you'll realise i apologised for my grumpy comments and as such have avoided the label of 'Ignoramus'. So there. You big smelly sock.
So since there is no projectiles, do you guys just drop whenever you want? I know that the losing team drops more, but how do you know when to "die"? Is it just random?
PHEW!!! I made it for a whole 14 mins before I peed myself laughing at the one fat german whining about medics shooting germans!!! LOL!!! Some nazi owes me some new shorts!
Do SS and Regulars fight together? i wana do Waffen SS reenacting, but idk if im only allowed in certain reenacment. theres one in reading in june, i live real close and i wana reenact as an SS soldier maybe this year, but do they allow SS at that one or this?
I praise the renenactors who actually try to be realistic, sure its to have fun doing it to but come on....walking around a battlefield? how did both sides not suffer large casualties at such close quarter fighting at certain points. unless i didnt hear the audio or i missed something?

@polkbritton No I think you're right. MP-28s were side-magazine mounted. Of course, just like in war though, one could always pick up a fallen enemy's weapon, though it's not recommended ad you'll never know what condition it's in.
With what kindof Ammunition are they shooting? And how do opponents know they are beeing shot and out of game? I am playing airsoft battlegames, but we know when we got shot^^
Comical how the addition of an SS license plate instantly grants any soft skinned vehicle armor and firepower of a Tiger II as well as invulnerability at a reenactment.
What is the age limit on this reenactment group? There are no WWII reenactment groups around my area, just American Civil War ones. If you could respond I would really appreciate it.
sound is a little out of sync but it was still a great video. i was a GI for this one. for the Allied attack, we were out in the open taking out the tank. i believe you guys were up the hill quite a ways. great battles though. Germans put up an amazing fight.
I'm disappointed about the sound sync issue, but I'll resolve this prior to the next upload.
Many thanks for your input.
My goal is to show the enjoyment of the living history part of an actual battle in the field to bring additional recognition to both the reenactor community and those who would like to participate.
no problem. i had a lot fun this year. last year the weather was terrible, so we didnt get out much. i was really impressed with the video. the sync doesnt bother me, i just thought i would let you know if you didnt. see ya next year! i was Regt HQ this year and will be next year as well.
@williamkisse I like your concept of bringing attention to the reenactment community. you should do something that focuses on a regular infantry unit such as the 99th ID because there are just so many rangers and paratroopers its rediculus
@ronaldweasleyfan55 Ur totally right. I reenact in New Zealand and all the units are Rangers, 101st, 82nd AB, 1st LSSAH, Falschrimjager, Gerbetsjager. the only regular units are the NZ Battalions. lol quite often its all the fat guys who go for the elite. Luckily tho here in NZ a vast majority of reenactors are aged from 17-26 so things are changing and we get to see more more younger fitter soldiers who look and act like the real thing and just want to imersse themselves in ww2 4 the weekend :)
@ginjaninja1988 the unit i reenact is from the most decorated company of ww2 in the US army and were key in the defense of elsenborne ridge and the sourounding areas and barely anyone knows of them or cares. thanks to band of brothers and saving private ryan. and with the pacific coming out there will be a lot more marines!
@ronaldweasleyfan55 The 99th? They had a black shield with blue and white checkers? Thats really cool, I like the idea of reenacting an ordinary unit. I reckon you find that the men who served in the regular line units paid a far bigger sacrifice, saw far more combat and were in far more danger than ur average 'superhuman' Paratrooper and Ranger which most people thanks to the mentioned movies think won the war on their own. lol Nice to hear about ur unit. Do u guys have a website?
@williamkisse Hey Bill, great videos. I'll be at the GAP in 2012, be fun to meet you out there. Which unit are you with? Too bad about your dad not being able to make it up there any more, I so enjoyed his stories on youtube. Say hi to ole' Sparky!

PURPLE PARKAS, Tricks are for Kids! FARBOLICIOUS! Wow, all that shooting going on and guys just standing around. SNOW Cammo with no snow, OUTSTANDING. FARB, FAT, and "FIFTY Something" reenactors w/ beards, rubber soled boots, one guy taking cover behind a bush, this is why I do the public battle.
In 55.21 you can see the kraut walking doen the road with a SS Supply Room PPSH 41. I have one and it is an awesome SMG full auto blank firing only. Chuck stopped making these after a run of only about 65 weapons in the mid 2000s. SS Supply Room is now Military Precision. They make MP-40s and short barrel Thompsons. All full auto blank firing only. Prices are a little steep. The MP40 and Thompson are going for around $3000 each. Good thing is they are not considered guns so no class 3 is needed.
The GAP has always been a mistery to me. I haven't been able to go due to military deployments. Thanks for the long video, I hope to see you there next year.
Not sure what unit this is (Heer Jaegers?), but they need to stop tree-hugging. Battle just looks like a typical clusterf@#$... no aggressive attacking or counterattacking.

Well this is a very good question indeed. A tank kill is confirmed in 2 ways. By the allies or by the axis. Unfortunately sometimes the axis is too busy to know when they are hit. I got 2 confirmed hits by the allied forces. I will show you how my bazooka works in a reply vid when i get new rocket motors. first hit was about 200 yards. max range for a bazooka. second shot within 90 yards.
