@Brittany20001000 breeding mice for my snakes is good for many reasons. First, of course the cost is less breeding than purchasing mice. And second, and most important, I know the mice are well cared for, and have good healthy lives before being fed to my snakes. My snakes have to eat one way or another, and I find breeding the mice to be the most beneficial in all ways.
@MsTriXtaa Thanks! Most / all are pets I keep for fun and care well for. Some of them I do breed and sometimes sell or give away their babies to good pet owners.
people complain about him breeding mice to feed them. in the wild, a snake eats baby mice...as pets, you by baby mice to feed. but they all come from the same place..silly people..
@reptilesinmybed Thanks for the smart comment! Breeding mice myself does a few good things. First it ensures the mice live healthy and happy lives until they are fed to my snakes, and second, it is less expensive then purchasing mice.
@Ivetterivers I usually keep 1 male with 2 or 3 females for about 1 to 2 weeks. Then I separate the male until the females give birth. After the babies are old enough to separate from the moms, I give the moms a few weeks to themselves, then put the male back in.
DONT USE THAT SUBSTRATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! u should use repti carpet. the stuff ue using is terrible because the ends r pointy and might stab them. and if they try to eat a crickett, they could miss and get that stuff inside them. and dont use stupid bins, the heat wont get through as good as a terrarium with a screen top. if u love them u would buy them the right stuff.
Honestly dude? You breed your animals and you just use the babies as food for other animals.. What kind of nature is that? Breeders with any intelligence would sell the babies or keep them as pets. But using them as food? Are you sick? Do you get joy out of this? I know the newborn babies don't. Oh and I don't think it's too comfortable having a drawer as a cage..
@hex00002 sell mice? yeah, what money would be made off of that... very little... the reason I breed feeder mice and rats is because it is much less expensive than purchasing mice/rats from stores, and also, i know they get proper care and are healthy when they are fed to my snakes. makes perfect sense.
@earthling1984 That's true indeed for me however it's very hard to understand why someone would feed mice to a snake. Snake's don't like people and don't do anything all day, while mice are really sweet and cheerfull. I loved my rats and mice and if mice's and rats would eat snake, I would give it them anyday. Besides poor mice, they get babies and imediately loose them. that's just harsh..
@TrichbeeT its his pets id rather be fed to a damn snake than put in fucking animal testing and have needles and poisons stuck into me every damn day of my life.
Nice pets bro but you seem a bit abrasive. I found myself cringing at the way you handled some of them, and I practically envisioned the dollar signs in your eyes as you spoke about breeding each species. Some of their cages are way too small, rodents need air circulation in their cages and their respiratory systems can get screwy if they are enclosed in tupperware as you have so proudly displayed them. Maybe try caring for one pet before taking on 300.
@dissendiums do remember, the only thing this world cares about is money. That isn't me, that is everyone in this world. As for my pets, I care greatly for them. I would bet they get way better care than most pets do in 'single pet homes'.
i have a quick question is it a possibly that if i breed mice for my 2 bearded dragons that i can stop feeding them crickets and just give them pinkys, because i really dont like the crickets?
@UnhappyBook Adult Bearded Dragons cant eat alive mice cause they may have parasites. Some say that bearded dragons can only eat frozen mice that have been thawed to body temperature.
Awesome video, I really want to breed a few small rodents when I move out for a bit of cash but I'm not sure what kind of set up would be best, any ideas? Thanks :)
@leethaxxftw yes. they eat mainly insects. but do some research to see what other people or sources day, because i haven't owned one, although I know what they are.
I saw both of your pet room videos and I absolutely loved them..... I would love to have a pet room! I already have a few reptiles, rodents and marsupials to start off with! Awesome video! :)
I wish my hubby would let me get as many animals as you have, lol. I love animals soo much, but he's not much into them. I am lucky he let me get my two turtles last year and agreed to let me get two hamsters and a leopard tortoise for Christmas this year.
Earthling, i am wanting to start buying exotic pets whic i live in florida where most are legal. But, when i t come to taking care of them is cleaning out their cage uncomfortable. Or is it easy to put up with? Thanks
to be honest when i first saw your videos i was like what the fuck this guy is fucked up breeding rodents and other animals but then i realised it was actually a very nice thing to do because you are self sufficiant aswell as this brings somethhing new to the hobby. i am tempted to start this but i don't think its within my league to clean out cages all the time but i respect your view on life :)
@monsterenergykid78 I clean my beardies cage about once a week, and I never notice any smell from them. leos need a temp in their hot spot of around 95
I'm a little worried since it seems like they don't have a lot of ventilation. I have a DIY cage too with a bin but I cut put the top and used wire mesh. You can also do this for the sides but I'm very clumsy so I didn't want to risk it.
