I played with a guy that used electronic drums, Aleises or whatever it is. They sounded fine. We discovered it wasn't good to use music speakers with the accordian surround. The drums hit so hard it punched out the center of the speaker on a pair of Klispch Heresey's. Actually a cheap assed remarked Eminence speaker. The electronic signal is too harsh for music speakers. Home-type speakers work better, the foam surround gives and it won't punch out your woofer.
@jacktheripped This set is a newer set, all the sounds are delivered at the same volume, so I haven't had an issue with them. Plus I replaced my PA speakers back durring my touring days. They are plastic composit cones, so they really can take a beating. I got them at a cheap price, and they stood up to countless shows, drunk dudes spilling pitchers on them, and roady's hitting them.
