If you have OFFICIAL firmware 3.50 or under you can downgrade with Lumines, if you are above you MUST have a pandora or magic memory stick its the only way.

nope! You have to go through all of the 3.71 updates and then do this for the 3.80.

make sure you dont overwrite the EBOOT.PBP and make sure the 3.80 or 3.90 updtae is named UPDATE.PBP and not EBOOT.PBP ur getting that error becuase your running the official Sonyfw
