Sounds alot easier to adjust aperture and ISO than trying to refocus every 10 seconds. Thanks for the tips.I will definitely try that first and try learn to manual focus sometime. Thanks man. Aww I have to say it again your cat is soooo nice!
aw your cat is so nice! Purrs so much! I am having some trouble trying to get the focus right on video (I tried both AF Live and AF face detection but as soon as my kitten starts moving fast it all goes downhill...)
Takes awful long to refocus each time(and that terrible noise!!)
Do you have any tips for shooting crazy kitten? Manual focus sounds great but I am a newbie and my eye sight is not the most reliable.
@nikkinghk Manual focus is the best way to focus on DSLR. You can get a lens with a USM motor, it will be faster and quieter. However, what you can do to avoid focusing all the time to increase your f. number lets say to f8. though, you will have to increase your ISO for that.
I'm so confused. I've been researching DSLRs for weeks and I was completely certain the the Canon T2i did NOT allow auto-focusing during recording video. I thought you could auto-focus before you began the recording, but not during. But apparently you can. Momoz88, would you happen to know, if you were to use an external mic instead of the internal one, would that reduce the sound of the autofocus motor in the recording?
@AllUrUtubeRbelong2me The 550d can indeed focus during video, however, it is not enabled by default. You will have to enable it. Regarding the noise created while autofocusing (AF) , it can be reduced by using an external mic, specifically shoot gun mic. Further, you can significantly reduce the AF noise by utilizing a USM lens, however, they are a bit pricy! But still, the best way is to use manual focusing.
@momoz88 About the manual focusing....I have a question. Is there some kind of visual or audible indicator when you are in focus, like a green or red light, or do you just have to rely on your eye to decide if you are in focus? And same question for still images.
@AllUrUtubeRbelong2me If you are using a canon compatible lens you will get focus confirmation through the optical view finder when shooting stills. However, I am not sure if the camera can confirm the focus while shooting video.

damn that's loud and annoying... is there another way to have it auto focus without it being all loud and what not?

@2isTheNew1 Attaching a USM lens may help.
