  • Looks like a rabbit but for the long tail..

  • Rabbit lol

  • catdog

  • I have done some research on this, I saw that most of the prints were thought to be a large Puma, but seeing this, and some other videos out there, what if it is a pride of black lions? That is my theory anyways. Big cats have been spotted there since 1988. The "mane" on this and tail don't make me think it is a boar though.

  • boar

  • IF the vid is kosher I reiterate what I said here a long time ago...this COULD well be a LARGE feline [hybrid...lion/cougar/panther etc.] ..with a sheep KILL flung across its back, this being their method of securing their kills especially when alarmed as this one appears to be. I wish 'BofZ' would come forward & tell MORE about this interesting vid which I find to be the most convincing of ALL similar. WE have BIG FELINES here in West Cornwall ~ wife & I & friends have seen them. FACT.

  • surely a boar look at the hench shoulders.

  • its obama

  • Wild Boar, there are loads of them up there.

  • I first saw this video on Fact or Faked and the first thing I saw was a male lion running at full speed. I wouldn't be surprised IF it turns out to be a big cat, after all a lot of them were released by owners who did not want to get permits or relocate them to zoo's and other places.. I keep an open mind about this one, just because Dartmoor is so big and has more than enough game for a big cat to sustain itself.

  • WILD BOAR !!!!!!!

  • It looks like a big rabbit/Hare

  • I went to Dartmoor on 3 occasions in one week for a holiday. The first time i wen't it was foggy and thats when i was told of the legend. Despite seeing the ponies, horses and cows i looked from the highest rock formation on the moore, but could not see anything unusual. When i returned home i researched this beast, and found some evidence very convincing. I believe something is hiding in Dartmoor, and i will go back to Dartmoor again and again until i find something relevent to the beast.

  • @JackassJunior627 what evidence was this?sounds interesting mind sending the link

  • @TobyBindon Well i can't find the link i saw it on a documentary about myths and legends, apparently a boy got clawed by some large animal as he has the scars on his face to prove it. These scars were to wide and deep to be a dog or small cat. Plus mauled sheep carcasses, audio growling sounds, footage of large glowing eyes and apparently a large cat skull found on the moor. Do you know where i can find more footage of the beast???

  • i think its a jersey devil

  • damn thats big

  • Its Manbearpig :o

  • WOW. thats cool

  • still looks like a dog running full tilt to me, something like a newfoundland. here is a video that shows a dog running in slow motion jdikR_mxp6I in the show the dog they recorded wasnt running full speed.

  • It's something uncommon, would love a really clear picture though

  • It's a stag or something like that. Just look at the way deers run. It's the exact same motion as this so called 'beast'

  • that's a druid in cat form

  • that is a manbearpig,no doubt, i have saw thousands and hundreds of them ...

  • I live in cornwall and a friend of mine see's large cat's neally every day walking her three dogs - they are frightened of the dogs so dont come near her - also my dentist who lives on the moor saw a large cat walk across his flat roof in the snow he climbed up and took an impression with dental clay ? I have seen it and its larger than a mans hand - this looks like a lion - well caught

  • I thinks Maria is right, its a pig lion hybrid... known in South America as roarpigs..rare but not unknown, some of them spit fire...some can juggle skittles...mostly they are friendly as they mostly dine on unicorns & mermaids....beware though!

  • pig + lion

  • To me it looks like a lion. Personally, i think it only appears dark because of how out of focus the video is

  • oops COD Black Ops glitch, hellhound into real world lol

  • Looks like an huge pig

  • i'd have to go along wth maybe a hybrid it looks like a mix between a wild boar and a lion!

  • HOLY SHITCAKES, BATMAN! O_O

  • looked like a solid black lion if anything, which really dont exist

  • What if dis is sum sort of strange hybrid?

Like a male lion mixed wid a boar?

Hmmmm.... This gives me da creeps...

  • It can't be a boar because of its legs and can't be a pony so I think it's something unexplained. Maybe we'll never know but for now I guess that we just have to wait.

  • dude it kindq looks like a wild hog?? idk im drunk :O)

  • @novaface it is.

  • Well its no pony it has a diffrent tail but also it isnt a boar because it moves too fast and have too long of legs it cant be a lion cuz its not native and im sure it isnt a black lion because those are super rare my guess is a lion broke free and matewith a boar and made this

  • Wow what a surprise, another blurry paranormal video. Usually the blurry videos are reserved for the flying saucer hoaxes, but every now and then one of these show up. Just like all the blurry videos of big foot and the loch ness monster, HOAX!

  • @bdkalltheway yea funny how they're always blurry aint it lol

  • If just based on the gait, I'd say a lion. But how many lions run wild in England?! Much less a black lion

  • Wild pokemon.gotta catch it

  • Boar*

  • The way its running there is no way its a bore

  • it might be a dartmoor ponie

  • It still looks like a boar, plus it's not that big considering it's zoomed in

  • Recorded with a cinnamon bagel dipped in goose fat.

  • It looks like a lion

  • So u was out filming shots for a video competition and took a video of this..... I take it you didn't win then. maybe next time you should use a camcorder and not a calculator.

  • I hunt boars with family and I can tell you now the following:

    -that is a BOAR!

-Boars can run in cat like strides

-boars have hair that can look that as a black lion

-Boars aren't hard to see in fields

    -That is a BOAR!

  • @DarkStar6161 You fucking moron. You dont hunt boar. You are some nerdy little anime bitch. I wouldnt expect someone of your age and intelligence to Definitively say what animals can do what.

  • @Khameleon808 who doesn't hunt boar? why do you think American Pitbulls were bred for? to hunt boar.

  • @GothicGhostBat I was talkin Darkstar. I dont give a shit about pitbulls really. I dont see where they were even in the convo

  • @Khameleon808 because the way you put it, it sounded as if you meant NOONE hunts boar, and I was pointing out that people do hunt boar, and that was the reason that the breed of dog were bred.

  • @GothicGhostBat I would never imply that no one has ever hunted boar. Just not your average 14yr old white blonde haired anime fangirl. But who knows. Even if she had, she is still not qualified to tell me what this is in the video. The aspect ratio is off so any "analysis" people do on the body type will be skewed because of the incorrect dimensions of the video. So yeah. I am not an expert on boars. I AM an expert on video however.

  • @Khameleon808 ahhh, okay, sorry about that. But thought it looks alot liek a boar, it would have to be a huge boar, which is possible, but idk, about how much boar roam around in England, and the size they grow there.

  • @DarkStar6161 Why dont you post some videos of you huntin boar instead of videos of you singing stupid ass willow smith songs? I wanna see you chase one to where its running like a cat. This video is actually a fake and you guys are arguing over something that was added later. I dont doubt that there are animals we havent seen. But I can prove this video is a fake and had its aspect ratio stretched.

  • @DarkStar6161 u believe its a boar unless u examine the animal itself u cant say wat it is or isnt

  • really big rat

  • If I saw gaint black lion , I sure as hell wouldn`t chase it.

  • thats just 1 of those pig that are big dont know the name but there black

  • Why in the name of holy Christ didn't the cameraman chase after it? For the sake of discovery if not for the sake of a less blurrier quality.

And why only film it for a few seconds and then stop? There have been sightings of big cats in England and Scotland for years, and Hell even in the TV show they found carcasses and heard low-pitched growls, but something tells me this particular clip was faked.

  • with the blur of the camera it could just be a running black rabbit that seems like it has a long tail.

  • Oh and I love when it is snorting like a hog...I can tell it's just a poor quality video of whatever you want to see. Sorry side is I want to find anything paranormal before I leave this world beast, ghost, ufos but there is nothing paranormal abour this video accept how blurred your lens is.

  • To say an animal can't do something..as you claim that a boar can't move as a cat is your mistake. You must understand, hence, open youre mind to the fact animals will adapt. Ever see a house cat turn a knob to open a door? Yeah I have and my parents told me "a cat can't open a unlocked door." Well they were wrong. How about a dough with rather long ears. You really think body parts can not come in different sizes and lengths. Think about it, I presume you are mistaken.

  • hmm...

definately not a boar, the movements are to much like a mixed between a black panther/tiger/cheetah. espesially with the hinds higher than its torso. it could be a new species. kinda like the okapi, first thought to be myth then it became real.

  • A wild boar..what's so special about it? The tail? Somebody has put a tail on it. : )

  • Comment removed

  • Yea im sry guys, for the past 2 weeks i really beleived in the animal. But now tht i look at it real close, it looks lik a regular boar, just in a bad camera view. And im pretty sure the recorder knew tht also. did u notice tht u cant see the animals head?, and tht mane ur seeing is the boars fur. better luck next time

  • the hind is higher than the torso... meaning......... probably not dog nor boar nor horse or lion or w.e cuz the hind is higher. That explains the way its running as if to kick something behind it. but ... theres not many animals built like that so...........????

  • yeah, people think, how can it be a boar? Legs on a boar compared to this creature are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY smaller and stubby-er. Can't be a pony, the body is too big in the front and smaller in the back. It's more of a lion, but not a lion. It looks alike but moves differently. Not a dog, come on.... Really? Why is it impossible to understand we may have a new breed of creature. Or that the folklore may be true.

  • @911child The reason why it can't be an unknown species is that you need very many animals to sustain a species, and that would have meant that thousands of skeletons, remains, feces, fur, all sorts of things would have been found both now and earlier in history. Stories of lone, mysterious animals that never leave any evidence are usually myths like "Bigfoot" or "Yeti" or "Nessie". : )

  • its a wild boar.

  • ok the beast has been compared to the 3 animals it is most accused of being a wild bore, a pony, and a black lion the way the animal moves did not match any of them the most similar was the lion.. i honestly think it is an animal that has yet to be discovered .

  • Now That Ive seen it.. it looks like a plain old boar.. just the camera was shitty, made it look off.. SORRY SKEPTICS

  • Awesome, And Im not ignorant to say America is best, Not for nothing, but England's landmass really hits me, Im fascinated by it, and with unknown creature sightings as well. So this is a double awesome video.

From what I would see, it looks like a miget Lion.. Like I see the tail, it resembles a big Cat tail, and has a mane.. maybe a Pigmy Lion or something? Or just something else hmhm.

  • I'm going to go with the Hell Hound idea but it does look like a black loin

  • This made me abit alarmed .....I wish to see more like this

  • *Pokemon battle music starts*

    Wild Shiny Suicune appeared!

    Trainer sends out Pichu!

Pichu uses camera! It's super effective!

    Wild Shiny Suicune fled!

  • @ipokefan4 Shut up, and stop being a dick.

  • There was a special on this and the scientist concluded that it was a very large lion or panther. They compared the gait and only a lion matched it. They were astounded.

  • Was this not a reenactment?

  • ITS A SUICUNE!!!!!!!!

  • I hope, it's real!

  • Does look a little like a lion!

  • i agree with swiati, boars dont have the anatomy to run like this...it is probably an unknown animal yet to be discovered? i dont know, i cant explain it tbh...its really awesome though :) i am from the uk and its kool to know we have creatures noone can explain or find lol i hope it is something mystical ha ha i love the mystery of it :D

  • hell have a pet, I don't. I get a brother. A brother!!!

  • Haha seriously its hopping like a bunny....

  • america is the worst country in the world, we go by the land of the free, though that is truely a lie, so right off the bat our country is fake

  • Another case of an UBO: Unknown Blurry Object.

  • A wild Houndoom appeared.

  • Not many hunters amongst you guys, huh?

Just a freaked out wild boar...

  • @Magnum442604 Yeah, because a wild boar has a mane and a lion's tail....

  • My first impression was wild pig,but after quick research i think its some cind of cat. Pigs dont run like this at all.Ppl that say its a pony?WTF ARE U BLIND?Its deffenitly something unknown addapted to the area

  • kien sabe ke se pero deke es mas grande ke un leon imasagil lo es ademas si es verdadero

    chupate esa

  • Have you all even heard this thing freaking roar O.o I don't think so my grandpa has recordings that I might put on YouTube but yea it's no pig, no pony. It's like a mixed growl between 2 big cats and another sounds like a squeak growl

  • Its scar from the Lion King

  • PIG !

  • Its either a horse, pony, or lion if a lion then it has a bad skin disease like menche

  • Its a pony, all ponies kick their back legs out as a defense as they run away from something they are frightend of.

  • Well damn, I told my ex gf to fuck off but I didn't expect her to leave the friggen country.

  • its like a black lion

  • maybe a black bull or a biiiig boar... that's for me...

  • Hmmm, once again a video of an unexplained creature is 'OUT OF FOCUS' Is it always the case that people who witness these things always happen to own shit cameras? Hmmmm?

  • @MegaFaery You try filming an hd video with your phone...

  • Comment removed

  • Looks like a black lion???

  • its my nan

  • this could be the offspring of two big cats. in the 1970's alot of english people owned exotic animals. but a law made them give up thier pets as they were a danger to the public so most went to zoos but the rest had to be put down and some owners couldnt bare to put down their pet so they set them free to fend for themselves. that was only 35 years ago. could definitely be a mixed breed cat

  • Its clearly a wild boar, they are built like that and can have long tails.

  • @0Jiimbo i dont think it is a wild boar. i saw this more clearly on the tv (fact or faked or something) and it looks to slender and agile to be a boar. watch a vid of a wild boar running theyre bodies are more rigid.

  • look its clearly the dog level on Nazi Zombies ...

  • I know what that is. Its Foamy the squrriel

  • Its a boar running over uneven ground!

  • it might be a buffalo

  • @sweetgirljaydie in dartmoor england, not a chance

  • thats a great camera you got the buddy!

censored the whole time, no matter how much its zoomed in

  • I actually really like this video, I studying animal management at the moment so I can be a bit peremptory about it!!!! X-D

It's movements are like that of a big cat, it's a shame you never see the front half of this... thing. I for one really hope this isn't a fake. I just wish the camera work was a bit better! May I ask why you decided to stop filming and not chase this thing to the ends of the earth itself!!!

  • it could be a black lion but it would have smelt him and im surprize the thing didn't notice him did you see fact or faked with the loud roar that aint no prize pig

  • its the black lion of the apocalypse! praise the lord we shall not be forgiven,

sell your melons and pray for tommorow!

  • they proved it wasnt a boar, they didnt know what it was.. so just stfu

  • blurry on purpose?

    it's just a random hog.

  • @spriteofbones Except hog's don't gallop like that when they run...they barely lift their bodies at all because their legs are so short. Nice try though.

  • I'm not 100% sure that's a boar. I'd have to look more closely at how even-toed ungulates like them run compared to an odd-toed, but most herbivores evolve a very leg heavy run. Their spine stays straight while their legs do most of the work rotating under them.

This animal runs with a definite curve and flex to its spine, more like a predator would. I also think I you can see a long un-boar like tail within the first 2 seconds. Honestly, it looks like some sort of mutated dog.

  • It is a wild boar, no doubt about it.

  • crap! its a wild boar, one of the few released a year ago, look if you keep posting all this spam and rubbish we wont get to see what everyone wants - that is real evidence of big cats in the wild in britain and there is

  • it was on fact or faked they think its a wild boar cross lion i think its a fukin manbearpig

  • I watched this in science...

  • It's Allah

  • i think that you have let your dog of its lead.

  • looks like a boar. but the tail is too long

  • Its Ian Huntley hes morphed into a sex ravaged beast stalking live stock across the moors Holly an Jessica just didnt cut the mustard, anyways long story short 3:15 kempton park trap 2 that beast i a favourite back it its a dead cert

  • to me it looks like a hell hound

  • Looks more like a black lion to me.

  • it's a fish

  • Its pretty convincing to be honest, I have recently been to Dartmoor and because it was foggy i was constantly looking for the beast

  • Lol.. its a hound lmfao

  • OH SHIT IT'S SUICINE!!!

  • It looks like a buffalo

  • The Great Beast Of Dartmoor is nothing but a cute and harmless dog named Troy.. :D

  • It's a Newfoundland by the name of 'Troy' hahaa, look him up. They are giant beautiful dogs and love to run and play :) It's blurry because it was taken on a cheap video camera, try filming something on a cheap phone camera etc, you'll have the same. But poor old Troy, he was just having fun chasing a bunny down a hole :)

  • showed this video to my friend before he went to dartmoor for a school trip he was scared lol he filmed everthing to get some evdience for the so called beast lol

  • For Some reason to me, it looks like a big wild boar of some type

  • @thenicholashuber its got a long tail...

  • Lions are rare in england ? they are only in zoo's you see a wild lion in england i guarantee you've wandered into a safari park

  • shit i live in ottery

    im goin to be eaten???

    lol

  • wild bore?

  • That is no cocker spaniel! Very interesting...

  • I have seen this on fact or fake

A qustion why the viedo is not clear!

  • Look up 'cocker spaniel 2 blind retrieves' on YouTube to see a working Cocker with a docked (short) tail hunting in grass. You can see that the same dog sprinting would break into a lope/bound and look identical to this video. Cool if it were a lion, but it's a small doggie.

  • It's a working Cocker Spaniel with an undocked tail. If you look closely, you can see the floppy ears bouncing up and down. Unlike show Cockers, working Cockers are skinny, muscular, very fast-moving and look like wild cats when they run. We have one and he looks identical to the video when he's running.

  • Looking more closely, I can see that the creature in this video is bounding, not running. The tail and the bounding motion would suggest that it is a lion, but lions are rare in England, and black lions are even more rare. I doubt this is a lion. Myabe it's another thing to add to the list of animals for cryptozoologists to investigate.

  • It's strange. It has the tail of a lion, but it black. I know a lot of wild cats were released a few years ago into the wild, but I have never heard of any lions being released into the wild.

    An interesting case.

  • ITS A FRIKEN THANATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • CGI Animation

  • doubt its a wild boar they can not run like that this creature leaps when its runs wild boar dont have long enough legs

  • It's a Dartmoor pony - the hill in front of it is disguising the length of it's legs

  • I can tell it is Sus Scrofa - an Adult male. Wild Boar are common in the UK, indeed they are now being farmed here.

  • hybrid of lion and boar

  • (ULSTER209)have yous ever watched fact or faked they done experiments on dogs and everything even a lion and nothing matched it its far to fast and far to big for any of them...it real alright they even heard it

  • @LOTN249 1- Fact or Faked NEVER do a proper experiment

2-This "black lion" was running full speed either away or to its target or prey etc

3-The lion they "used" in their "reconstruction" was overweight fat and trained and probably never had to run for its dinner in its life, of course its not going to look like the one on video

4- noone will know wot this is without seeing it again

5-why didnt the person filming go over and look for prints and tracks? why cos its CGI imo!

  • its actually a big hairy dog

  • fuck english people

  • @givemesomeheadho You sir, are a typically narrow minded American! If it wasn't for the 'British" immigrants, America wouldn't exist. Your country is only few hundred years old & you think that somehow, America is the greatest country in the world. You should get a passport and see other countries - open that mind of yours!

  • @KomplexTheory1 i'm from america and I take no offense to this

  • @KomplexTheory1 Every group of people has a few loud-mouthed individuals who seem to represent more of the population than they actually do. If you think Americans are typically narrow-minded, come visit us. We're not all (or even mostly) assholes, I promise you.

  • @ideasdonotlove See, Im American, Lived here all my life, And I still see other cultures and practices with respect, So I agree with you, we arent all narrow minded. :)

  • Look a lot more like a black lion to me!! And not to sure about there being loads of boars around here as i live on dartmoor!!

  • Apologies if this comment has already been stated, but I can't be expected to sift through a thousand comments.

Right, let's get one thing straight. This is NOT, I repeat NOT a hybrid of a boar and lion. Two unrelated species cannot breed to produce a viable offspring. This is not possible, so please rule this out as a possibility. I cannot believe the producers of FOF let that nonsense be aired. Lions and tigers, horses and zebras, dog, coyotes, wolves can interbreed as they are family related.

  • I personally think that it's possible it could be a type of hybrid of lion and boar. Looking at the first second or two of the video if you look very closely at it's head the shape is very similar to a boar's with it's length and the mane/body looks like a lion's. It's movement, it bounds like a lion does. It's colour could again be because it's a hybrid. . . OR!!! The myth is true and it's a personal agent of the devil that hunts the souls of the damned hahaha.

  • @sljc2011 im guessing u watched that TV show on it then?

  • @sljc2011

It's just not biologically possible to breed between the two species, so that possibility can be ruled out. A member of the cat family can breed with another...lions, tigers for example. A wild boar can breed with a domestic pig, but not pig with cat....just think about it....it wouldn't benefit nature, as all kinds of weird genetic mutations would appear. If you don't believe me, just read up about it. I cannot understand why the programme actually put this out as a possible theory.

  • You know, I don't see how this could be a boar. It's too slim, and boars can't run like that (I don't think). Lions aren't native to England, much less black lions. And why are all of you dismissing this as fake just because it's out of focus? Has it occured to anyone besides be that this could be something no one has discovered?

  • it reminds me of the pokemon zoroark

  • Wild hog. Play it a copule times the Mane is blare
