  • Not a bad tribute, mate - we're both too young to have seen The Clash live, but the spirit lives on. Your challenge - the one I'm holding you to - is to find new bands who have the same message, the same energy. I haven't found any, born in 1985. If you can find a New Clash, I'll devote my life to making them heard.

  • cool I love this song

  • Pic at 0:38 is not The Clash, that's some awful-looking Clash cover band. For some reason that's always one of the first pics that comes up whenever anyone Googles "The Clash" and it's not even them! Any fan should be able to spot that.

  • Green day are the wrapping on a chocolate bar as Joe Strummer commented on the Alarm.

  • this song cheers you up

  • I thougth I saw Joey Shithead in some of those shots.

  • Great first vid Andy. Well synced and interesting to watch. Thanks!

  • i want to thank my public library for having London Callling if it wasnt for them never would have found then =D

  • Still awesome after all those years..."what you need, what you got ?" LOL.

  • I love 1:58 so punk rock!

  • The Clash and its superb diversity of music. Just listen to that Scottish, English overtones.

  • This is good pal

  • @TheGriff45

I'm not even convinced by most of this "guitar rock" revival that had everyone so excited. To me, it was kind of like the second "Woodstock:, you know, the one sponsored by PEPSI (yer fuckin kidding right?). The exception I'll make among the revivalists is Jack White. That fucker has a real conviction about what he does. Even travels out the way to old-school analogue studios like Toe Rag. He's also a smart social observer, but doesn't get very political.

  • @TheGriff45

The mainstream has been well and truly secured by the clutches of the dollar-prostitutes. And they try not to get them riled up by things like "meaning" and "purpose" and "conviction" and "perspective". The less thinking they do, the more reliably they spend.

Did you know The Clash nearly sent themselves broke, in their OWN record contract, to reduce multi-vinyl releases at standard price? Con-VICTION.

  • @TheGriff45

Look a little deeper. There is good music being made.

  • r i p to the clash awsum band n seen em plenty

  • Awesome song. Yeah, good clip you made Andy. Just a bit more pics for it would have been good repeating them is no hit ;)

  • best band to ever be.

  • naw man, Queen was good. They started well.

  • best clash track!

  • they were punk but qa softer kind of punk but still a tight band

  • @RockerDude0459

They weren't soft punk. They were smart punk. While all the other punks were fulminating about an establishment they didn't understand, but hated, The Clash were skewering their values with a critical eye of searing precision.

The Clash actually had a geopolitical conscience, at a time when most punks weren't aware of what was in the fridge.

  • @ carlostn: Your musical education swims in a sea of retardedness. Your "shredders" are in no way "old school". The Rolling Stones, however, are. Old School is good. Mid-80's metal posers are bad, and NOT Oldschool. Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones, The Who, The Kinks, Queen, the foundations and frontiers for rock and roll and punk rock to this day, THEY are oldschool. Get it straight.

  • Great song and great start of the vid. You needed more pics.

  • written in the style of bo diddley

  • this is one of the best Clash songs ever, but come on, have more pictures, not just repeats

  • carlo u gotta love all da music lol

  • This is still one of the best songs around, coming loud and clear from the Best ever album - no denials.....

  • me gusta tu video, muy chido de verdad.

  • i love this band

  • i am a 17 year old and i listen to the clash, rancid,Ramones, and cheap sex all punk. and those of you who think green day is punk they're not. i have been listening to punk since i was six. always have always will.KEEP PUNK ALIVE GOD DAMMIT!!!!!!!

  • green day are so punk they could kick your ass no joking green day suck

  • they were never punk. i watched them on gilman street in the beginning during kerplunk.

you could NEVER put them in the same category of artists such as Dead Kennedy's, Black Flag, Clash, Pistols, etc and I bet Billie Joe would admit it too. still, congrats on their success, but they aren't my heroes or political social educators like the aforementioned

  • haha ramones ftw! i wana be sedated ;)

  • Green Day USED to be punk. They kinda fall in line with the Descendents and the Queers in my opinion and of course those two bands are better. I mean, back then they were punk like those bands; in the days of Dookie and Kerplunk and all that pre A.I. shit. They just sold out like a muthafuckaaaaa.

  • @onechoctawmoon im 17 and i have grown up on this music. When i was 9 and 10 i was really into the Tony Hawk game series and a lot of this was featured in the game.

  • @onechoctawmoon doesn't matter if green day are "punk" or not, what matters is that they write good songs. There's a lot of good music out there that isn't just punk, check it out.

  • @onechoctawmoon Green Day WAS punk. Listen to 39/smooth, kerplunk or dookie albums.

  • @Doom796 I agree, 39/smooth and Kerplunk were great albums

Insomniac and dookie are alright too.

  • I gotta thank my friend for turning me on to the London Calling album. This song is fucking awesome

  • yeah you gotta love all music peoples music taste is the reason why there is so much hatred going on these days if you like all music everyone will get along fine

  • yeah well i hate all the crap thats playing on the radiostations.. most people listen to fucking pop is disgusting and not conciderd music.. i wana punch ever pop star that says he or she was inspired by somone great like mj , the clash , bob dyaln , eric clapton etc.. FUCK YOU MOTHER FUCKERs.. to think that most of the good music comes from the 40's to the 70's and some 80's i mean seriously proper singing no editing in 21th century? naaah :P

  • Yeahhh. We have the technology, but we don't have the talent. haha Ain't it a shammmeee.

  • @guffmuff I agree I mean for example "Ke$ha" (wtf kind of name is that?) She uses all this autotune or whatever and /still/ sonds like crap, it's all electronic so you don't need anyone with talent anymore, and her lyrics include "just show me where your d*ck's at." If that's music I don't even want to know what music will be like in the future..

  • @carlostn Please don't breed. Please keep your retarded seed to yourself. Thanks, the rest of the human race.

  • "u say hip hop i say scorpions"

    - coupled with 'glowing tributes' to none other than dross-machines such as Def Leppard, Motley Crue, and Van Halen...

...maybe you shouldn't actually be saying anything, eh?

This is the mighty 'Bangers 'n' Mash' pal - listen and learn.

  • I don't think they performed this song too much live.

  • the clash lejos la mejor banda de todoslos tiempos

  • Best Clash song there is, imo.

  • yesssssssssssssssss

  • pleace lets make good music again, lets bring this back to life

  • I LOVE YHIS SONG

  • My grandfather heard this song and he normally never listens to music, but was intrigued by this song, and it's an awesome song.

  • Absolutely underrated. This song kicks ass.

  • one of the most underrated clash songs, love it.

  • Looove it^^

    Well done ;)

  • the video I think is cool at first... but it gets old to see the same pics over and over again... I wish you had found some more pics of the clash... their out there!

Great song though! Nice use of drug pics too... the clash were totaly out of control and this song is irrefutably about drugs.

  • cheers man

and haha yeh i know what u mean (about the pics) i was just pissin about with moviemaker for the first time to see what i could come up with, otherwise i would have put more effort into findin pics etc, but cheers!

  • I like these pictures

  • Nice video, and this is one of my favorite songs by the Clash :D

  • Very cool, actually. How did you do the opening sequence with the picture behind The Clash- Hateful title?

  • Cheers

ah i just had the picture, then put a title going over it (Scroll, inverted), and dragged it to "title overlay", that way it plays over the image. hope that helped, im not very good at explaining haha

  • hey, this was awesome! i love this song too!

  • Cheers!

    haha yeah its great
