Heck I remember getting "K.Oed" in class about a minute or 2 AFTER an attack hit me.(wasn't in an illegal area -eyes, groin etc) True story. (and it was a light hit O_o ) After the effect kicked in I had to stop the fight. My opponent/classmate and I both didn't know what was going on.XD. My teacher examined me then gave me the explanation to what and how it happened. Martial arts can be a dangerous sport indeed.

@TrevorTrevorson generate more speed and power in the hips. the follow through is more powerful. as far as risking your back, the spin should be quick enough if they are able to dodge it you are in a the same position you were before you threw the kick. you can then follow with kicks or punches.If your stance and your kicks are thrown correctly your opponent should never be able to see which kick is coming. they can be fast enough to duck and counter by the time you are back in your stance.

I really love Tae-Kwon-Do... it has great kicks but I can't help but feel its a little weak defensively. I notice a lot of fighters with their hands at their sides. A good Mauy Thai fighter will chop down anyone with solid striking... I say, get as good at Tae Kwon DO as you can but also learn karate, Mauy Thai and Brazilian Ju Jitsu if you can. Also some Aikido wouldn't hurt. Stay safe out there people. Keep strong and be ready for anything. Bless.
