  • I hadn't noticed how many when I took that. That was taken from the end of the Yurakucho Station platform, which is just one station past Tokyo Station, so there's a lot of traffic on several parallel lines there. - LHS

  • Is this several days compilation?

    Nice footage.

    What software do you use?

I mainly use Adobe premiere elements and plain Windows movie maker.... as for players I use Media Player Classic, this player plays just about anything. It's bundled in the CCCP download.

  • Yes, it was taken over three days - the 6th, 8th, & 9th - I think.

I use VideoStudio, but it won't play it, and also Media Player Classic won't play the Ricoh camera's files (the picture freezes and there is no sound). So, I tried "VirtualDub" which plays the files fine and edits them, but the sound is bad when uploaded to YouTube. But since it's also bad on the files I uploaded directly from the camera, I think there's something about Ricoh's AVI files that doesn't work with YouTube? - LHS

  • The best format for youtube is H.264 Mpeg2. Video size is completely up to you.

Try exporting the edited clip(s) to that format or much easier WMV, both these formats work just fine when uploaded here. ^^

  • I know MGEG-2 (that's the format I use when using an HD camera), but don't know what H.264 is...

Say - how is the sound on this video from your computer? Does it sound okay? At first, it sounded really bad on mine, with a strange echo and lots of distortion and static. But when I tried it later, it sounded okay - not great, but okay. "Okay" sound from a digital camera is okay - since it doesn't have a good mic and isn't stereo. Just as long as it isn't distorted... - LHS

  • H.264 is a codec used for HD video and such. It's gonna take a lot to expalin but there are a lot of articles about it so just look them up. ^^

Sound is just fine (as if i'm actually there) to and none of what you mentioned. It usually takes 30mins (nowadays) for youtube to show the video in it's full quality, so it won't look or sound good the moment it comes live.

  • Right - but what was strange today, was when I clicked on any of the files I had uploaded from my Ricoh G-III, the sound was distorted the same way in all of them! But when I clicked on other videos I've uploaded from different cameras, it was okay. So... there's something about those files, but it may have been something wrong with my computer too (too many applications open probably!) - LHS

  • Oh, that could be it.

In some cases audio stream of videos here vary from sytem to system, like this one vid where I and a few others couldn't hear the final note played but others can. O.o
