Many Muslims i know who entered arranged marraiges in earlier life are resentful bitter people who detest the freedom of others. Then again, i know some who have legged it away from their arranged marraige from Islamic countrys and never been happier in life and detest religion because of the hell they went through.
It's certainly not cultural in the U.K, where those guys came from. Infact it seems to be prominent amoungst fundamental religious based culture more than anything else. I'd also challenge wether it really creates happier people and a good society, it might create lower divorce rates but that doesn't immediately equate to a better society or happier people.

The scary part is that I can relate to these guys. In Pakistan people just go off to other areas for kicks when they get bored or for charity. I remember going to the most remote areas near the Afghan border during the 8th Oct earthquake. It could have been our group ending up in Guatanamo. Very scary thought.

"Just a story" or "just history"? The fat that the red cross never got unrestricted access to Guantanamo bay or its prisonners does show something is wrong... whether this story has a part or fiction or not, it's still based on some truth... And the truth here is apalling...

Again: vatationing or not, terrorists or not, no single human on this planet deserves this kind of treatment, however bad the crimes they are accused of are. Guantanamo cannot be compared to the Holocaust, but the lack of respect towards human life and international law is a fact. Who was talking about reassessing the geneva convention?

I'm still in tears as I write this. Wow! what a trial this guys went through. the Quraan says: '... for Allah does not love the wrong-doers, and makes men go through trials in order that He might purge the believers and blot those who deny the truth.' they came out stronger and better muslims. I really do make dua for this guys and every other innocent person still been improisoned in Guantanamo Bay.May Allah continue to bless Islam and all the true muslims out there.
