  • I'm not like you Bilbo

  • Rivendell <3

  • You know the greatest feeling that this music gives me? and I'm not sure why, but when I've had a really crappy day and I come home and hear this, suddenly the world doesn't seem like such a bad place anymore. I guess it must just be the nostalgia.

  • enjoy and relax

  • why arn't there any soundtracks in real life, would make life so much better..

  • The granduer of the Elves, the homeliness of the Hobbits, the recollections of times past, the hope for the future, the melancholy at the realization of what has happened and what must yet be accomplished, a shining light at the end of a journey, but above all the simple unspoken belief that there is good worth fighting for. How can so much be in one song, that is the mastery of Howard Shore and J.R.R. Tolkien

  • Someone take me to Rivendell :(

  • @Silvernymph7 same, and while we are at it, lets ride out to the Shire, now that would be the life :')

  • the second and the third books and movies are awesome...

but number one... is just number one:)

  • Welcome to Rivendell, Frodo Baggins!

  • I love how the Fellowship of the Ring and the return of the king are connected musicwise. FotR works like a bit of a preview of RotK, an Return of the King glances back towards the beginning. Beautiful work by Howard Shore.

  • The beauty that Howard shore puts in his music breath taking whether it's reminds you of good things as I do or the sound of the music takes you to a diffrent place it makes me feel like I can be so much better than what I am it makes me feel like I have a greater prepuce it shows me How far I've come and it tells me where I need to go. Just listening to one of the songs reminds me why I started reading jrr tolkens books and why I love the movies of the lord of the rings and the music

  • @ireallydontcarefor 'A greater prepuce' Made me chuckle.

  • i will never forget this scene in the movie

  • Really really pretty : )

  • Thumbs Up if Lord of The Rings Trilogy should be one film that lasts 10 hours at least!

  • The opening from 00:00 to 00:40 is one of most glorious and enchanting music I've ever heard!

  • The Shire music makes me feel comforted.

  • @locker300 Me too. No music soothes me and touches me more than the Shire music. There's just something peaceful about it that makes me feel like nothing is wrong in the world.

  • lord of the rings all the way

  • I want THIS at my wedding when my dad walks me to the altar *_*

  • This moment when Gimli and Legolas arrived at Rivendell, To know that they completed the fellowship and the quest begins. So many memories, when I read the LotR the first about thirty years ago.

  • The fellowship IS OVER

  • @911nigga911 Nothings Over

  • @911nigga911 It's only just beginning

  • @911nigga911 To quote Winston Churchill- "This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end....but it is perhaps the end of the beginning."

  • que de moments magiques...

  • @Larmoiwelt Enfin un commentaire en français ! >:D |D

  • @Grisou2907 Ils se font rare, ces temps-ci.

  • I am seriously considering clicking that god damned replay button.

  • This music is sorta like a dildo for my ears. Except, my ears do not have orgasms. And music cannot be shaped like a penis.

  • @jcacka18 Well that's...different.

  • Thank You Howard Shore

  • this is at the assembly of the fellowship :D

  • best fucking tune ever

  • :D

  • This makes my heart smile.

  • 0:40

    "Bilbo!"

    "Hello, Frodo, my lad."

    "Bilbo."

Bilbo and Frodo heartfully embrace. Bilbo releases a blissful sigh of relief.

Me - Quite a teary eye, heart-bleeding moment.

  • @AspergianMind : Kinda makes your head leak, don't it?

  • @AspergianMind

I sip my lovely afternoon tea, raising my pinky finger. I raise an eyebrow above my monocle.

    Me - Quite.

  • Chills all the way through from 0:00 onwards.

  • doing homework to lord of the ring soundtracks is nice, especially when you finish at 00:14

  • @templarknight3127 i agree!

  • soo beautiful

  • hats off to howard shore

  • @crudesicle at least a good move from the Academy that they honoured him with an Oscar...

  • Health and Mana fulled now!!

  • Star wars? hahahaha

  • @Ballantines1197 WHAT NO,NO ,NO , NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this is not the bad movie convention please go to the avatar page.

  • This song is used in The lords of the Online game! When you enter the Trollshaws...

  • beautiful ^-^

  • I hope The Hobbit has music as beautiful as this.

  • @florarulz101 Not fair. I just got into freshman year of HS, and the only time the HS played cool soundtrack was two years ago (Duel of the Fates, Across the Stars), and I wasn't even in HS yet!!! You're so blessed!

  • @JediDragonRider12 - i hear you. we hardly ever played "good" recognizable songs, all throughout my highschool band/orchestra career. We did "the patriot" for one concert, and fantasia 2000 for another. Both great, but everything else was things you've never heard of.

  • @TheCakeMaster102

Soulless people with an absolute hatred of everything existing.

  • Who else would love to live in the Tolkien world?

  • @menslady125 Don't you mean who else would love to live in the Tolkien world with this music playing as if from nowhere around you all the time?

  • @arcollier:

    Well, okay. That too.

  • @menslady125 Not really, I don't fancy being killed, raped or eaten by an orc or goblin.

  • @menslady125

As a Shadow, floating around and witnessing all the Wonders within that World, yes. As a real Human who is able to experience Harm and Death, no. Because lets face it: Tolkien's World is pretty damn dangerous.^^

  • @AdrianvonZiegler That's the beauty of it! Well to people like me. Valorous struggle against real forces of evil? Orcs, trolls, wargs, dark lords, Traitorous wizards. I'd take an axe to the head just for the chance to fight along side honorable and worthy elves and men. Feanor before he messed up, Earendil, Beren, Felagund, Turin Turambar, Fingon, Fingolfin, Tuor, Hurin, Huor, Gil- Galad, Elrond, Aragorn just to name a few :'). A lot of them had grizzly ends, but they were honorable and strong.

  • @Julius55555 Earendil is my hero and role model :) just saying

  • @AdrianvonZiegler How about as an elf? Or wizard? You'd be quite safe, if you just stayed out of trouble. Or you could be just a hobbit and eat your days away, happily smoking pipe weed and watching the sun set beyond the west, falling asleep under the great oaks, feeling the soft wind and hearing the song of the wood elves. ^^

  • @AdrianvonZiegler

i think unless you are like an Elf or something living deep in Fangorn or somewhere its pretty safe :p

  • @jmscarp1234 Well that all depends WHEN you're living there. If you're living at the end of the Third Age, where Sauron is making his war against Middle Earth anew, then you're likely in some pretty serious danger no matter where you are.

  • @menslady125 No, i want to feel reality but we can CREATE universes like tolkien did! and experience it from the outside in all its glory, we are life, we were granted something that no machines will ever have, the ability to create, understand; Creativity!

  • @menslady125 But only as an Elb, living 5000 years banging wonderfull women with long ears

  • @darthjump: I think you mean Elf.

And yeah...I wouldn't mind being an Elf...living forever and being pretty forever...

  • @menslady125 I call them Elbs because in Tolkien original they are called like that but yes thousands of years living that would be nice.

  • im learning violin one on this and its pretty hard but so beautiful

  • @florarulz101 we played this when i was in orchestra in middle school. some parts are hard but its all comes together and sounds amazing

  • @joyariffic hahaha thats where i am now im in 8th grade

  • @joyariffic same!

  • Crying right now.

  • @Hans1994yout I know right! T_____T

  • "Turns out my adventure was quite different than yours"

  • What the hell? The intro reminds me of E.T for some strange reason...

  • @enochjames *covers eyes*

  • i really don't know why but this reminds me of Ireland! beautiful music! :')

  • "Frodo was now safe in the last homely house east of the sea. That house was, as bilbo had long reported, 'a perfect house, whether you like food or sleep or story-telling or singing, or just sitting and thinking best, or a pleasant mixture of them all'. Merely to be there was a cure for weariness, fear and sadness."

  • @jcacka18 i just laughed so hard i almost peed. that's a good one! xD

  • I d just want for the first 45 secs of this song to go on for ever!!

  • this just makes me want to cry.. ;(

  • ooh i ♥ it <33

  • Mr Anderson...

  • I want this song to be my doorbell. That, or everytime someone enters my house, it automatically plays.

  • @thekraken57 and technically u will then be the lord of the "rings". TEHHEEEHEEHEEHEEHEE

  • @thekraken57 would you serve as much food as a Hobbit tho? lol

  • @thekraken57 that made me laugh like a crazy man. great post thekraken57 :)

  • @thekraken57 - haha, would be awesome

  • @thekraken57 hahahah u're crazy dude :D

  • @thekraken57 very humble boy ;D

  • @thekraken57 you're a genius

  • @thekraken57 thing is I wouldn't awnser until it's done :P

  • @thekraken57 That is so awesome! haha! You are a genius.

  • @thekraken57 I think I would go to your house just for that.

  • @thekraken57 haha that would be so cute!

  • "You're right, Sam. We did what we set out to do. The Ring will be safe here in Rivendell. I am ready to go home."

  • @hrkelsey sam: alright frodo, ill just pack my- Gandalf interrupting: Quickly hobbits! you must take the ring to mount doom! oh, and bring this gondorian, elf, dwarf, another gondorian, and 2 hobbits with you. sam: FOR F*CKS SAKE Frodo: come on sam! another adventuuuuure, yay! sam: -______- ...

  • i think i may by this soundtrack after listening to some of these

  • Me with one ear plug in: wow this is amazing!!

realizes i have only one earplug in, puts second one in

Me: HOLY SHIT!!!!!!! IM IN LOVE

  • 6 orcs got ears

  • @luckyeirekid Hehehe, I know , right!? Whenever I hear the 'Hobbit' theme, it makes me feel so comforted and at home, at peace. There are few musical compositions that can effect me like that. I bow to Howard Shore for the wonderful music, and J.R.R. Tolkien for the perfect story to unravel with it.

  • *Sniff* <3 Lord of the Rings...^_^

  • The best soundtrack ever made. I'd say it's even better than Star Wars.

  • 5 gangsta rappers disliked true art

  • Frodo is great...Who's that? Figwit ;)

  • My god i cant wait for the hobbit to come out :D

  • at 2:25..... its like smoking pot for your ears.

  • How can anybody possibly dislike this music(video..)??? Honestly!! To hate this video, u would have to have no soul!!!! To hate this music, is like saying u hate....puppies! Thats right! If u hate this video, u hate puppies.

  • @RookieDamn

    haha those damned Gingers !

Thinking they can dislike every thing because they dont have souls !

  • @eak120 Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @eak120 (just to let u know, this my second account) hahaha (rookiedamn's)

  • @RookieDamn They obviously pressed it by mistake. It is impossible to hate this song. And even more impossible to hate puppies.

  • @RookieDamn It's just that those dislikers aren't fond of having many meetings.

  • @RookieDamn what if i like this video and i hate puppies?

  • @RookieDamn I like this soundtrack,

    but i hate puppies/dogs.

    eh?

  • @RookieDamn

    =)

    absolutely agree

  • @RookieDamn and lolcatz

  • On the "trilogy or not" discussion: It was Tolkien's publisher that split his novel into three parts (though you can find single volume copies if you look). The Hobbit will be split between 2 films, but I wouldn't consider "the Hobbit, part 2" a sequel. On similar reasoning, I consider LOTR (the novel) one 'book'. Call it a trilogy if you like though! A rose by any other name...

  • LORD OF THE RINGS IS NOT A TRILOGY GUYS......GET OVER IT....

HOWEVER, DO ACCEPT THAT IT IS AN EPICOLOGY INSTEAD!

    =]

  • @haridalankan Umm.. It is a trilogy...

  • i like how they made sauron a big threat but he wasn't overpowered in some gay way

  • Try watching any one of the lord of the rings films and then play the elder scrolls, it's the closest game you will get to a fun experience similar to lord of the rings. Just my two cents (;

  • @GUNSwithPOWER IKR???? cant wait for Skyrim to come out.

  • @lemmingsuicide1234 ALL HAIL SKYRIM!!! ALL HAIL THE NORDS!!! ALL HAIL BETHESDA SOFTWORKS!!! AND MOST OF ALL, LONG LIVE TODD HOWARD!!!

  • @GUNSwithPOWER no LOTRO is the closest game you will have a fun experience similar to Lord of the rings xD

  • I'm going on an adventure soon, one over some huge rolling hills and countryside near my old school, it will be epic.

  • the thing i love about Howard Shore's LOTR music is, that all the tracks from the three soundtracks sound like one piece. like one piece for the whole saga. amazing work! <3

  • I'd be anyone who got to interact with Elijah Wood. Or Orlando. Or Viggo. Mmmmm yummy men!

  • The music really made this movie into more than just another movie for me

  • I cry almost every time at 2:25 :)

    beautiful.

  • imagine putting lord of the rings in the new Elder Scrolls game: Skyrim, or something similar, i would jizz

  • Frodo: I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

Gandalf: So would anyone who would have to live to see such times as these, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide, Frodo, is what to do with the time that is given to us.

  • @MrParadoxofTime Easily my favourite quote of the movie!

  • This song made me want to cry.

  • I guess that 5 people didnt make it to the meetings?

  • 5 people put their thumbs down just to get theRing off. xD

  • OMG.... I LOVE THE PART WHERE LEGOLAS ARRIVES

  • 5 people pushed the "Dislike-Button" !?

    ....how can that be? o.O

    I'm speechless

  • Tolkien was really a LORD

  • 0:55, always makes smile. It gives me hope, whenever I need it.

  • @evannalynchje well said, i couldn't actually agree more, it brings a smile to my face :)

  • I think this is my ultimate favorite on the soundtrack. :D

  • stuned into silence, there are no words for this and it doesn't need any, the music speaks for itself

  • This is beautiful.

Really, I had no idea that the people singing at the beginning was a 12 year old boys choir... It's still very beautiful and amazing :)

  • @ShireBaggins123

it's a boys choir? do they have a name or something? I could swear I was listening to beautiful women..

  • @alexandresan Maybe ,deep inside, you are just a sick pedophile =) No, I also thought I was listening to beautiful women, or at least women ;)

  • This one song sums up all of Lord of The Rings so beautifully... It is perfect. Howard Shore is a genius.

  • What is the first theme called? from (0:00 to 0:40) ?

  • @Musicnoteboy88 I think it's just a little melody to show the wonder of Rivendell :)

  • Just hearing it makes me think of Tolkien

  • A!Elbereth Gilthoniel ! silivren penna miriel......<3

  • This soundtrack is one of the most amazing things that exists

  • Lord Of The Rings is my favourite film of all time and will always be, Tokien is my hero in some ways, he inspired me to write, infact my own story is set in Middle Earth, it's such a heaven, compared with this Earth... If only it were real....

  • @blackwolf409 its real in your heart:) well it is in mine...just never say it doesn't exist
