HiveRadical, is your typical mormon. His videos are based on church supplied materials. the lds church is not true! Constant change of the BofM. Mormons claim that the Bible is not correctly translated...
So why don't the LDS faith have their SO-CALLED PROPHET-SEER-REVELATOR...translate OR repair all the fults of the KJV 'bible" that the church uses?
Wow, really? The word "work" is what your organization uses all the time to express the lies and manipulations that little jo created. You are just among the many of whom are misled and uneducated in true doctrine.
5) The assumption that all Mormons will reject you from their homes. I have served an LDS mission, I know very well what it feels like to go around knocking on people's doors for hours without being let into a home. The ironic thing was those were homes of "Christians." I would like to think that I would allow you into my home if you came by when I was available, but you've never dropped by.
The debate essentially turns into a "who can find more scriptures that support their views" marathon, and all such debates are utterly pointless because both parties leave feeling angry and justified in feelings so because of the hard-headed other debater. Give it up and rely on study and prayer, and respectful debate, not bashing.
Another annoying thing is how easy it is to have multiple opinions on what scripture means. You can go to 3 different churches about the same passage of scripture and come out with 3 different answers. You admitted to "bible-bashing" with a missionary because neither of you wanted to even try to address the scripture the other had used. The simple reason you did this was because you could not refute the scripture used against you.
One of the "Articles of Faith" of the church is that Mormons "believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly."Any Bible scholar can tell you that mistranslations are sure to exist in the Bible after it has been translated so many times and by translators biased by their respective religions. Mormons believe some scriptures to flat out be mistranslated (intentionally or unintentionally) and that these errors completely change the meaning of some passages.
4) Acting as though the Book of Mormon and the Bible don't match up. That is the whole point. Millions of people are members of the LDS Church, and millions of them have read the BoM and Bible multiple times, and are encouraged to do so on a daily basis (most will admit they have a hard time getting through the old testament, but who doesn't?). Don't you think some of them might notice if the teachings were completely different?
If you bring up the "genetic" argument about the native Americans, you haven't read the book of Mormon and/or don't understand that there are a variety of ancestors listed in the Book of Mormon that they are descended from.
3) The old (and highly over-used and under-researched) "archaeological evidence" argument. If you follow the book of Mormon, you'll find that the places Nephi and his family went through before coming to the Americas actually do exist, but I doubt you've searched for truth FROM Mormon sources (despite your wonderful quotes about accepting truth from all sources), as that might undermine those silly "irrefutable findings."
This comment by the Mormon here (above) is the typical response Mormons give to our attempts to discuss inconsistencies in Mormonism. Rather than accuse us of "misrepresenting Mormonism", why not give a specific example of what he/she believes is a "misrepresentation" of the Mormon faith? Why not show SPECIFIC facts and examples? Why "bash" our critical analysis if you do not have facts to back up your claims?
Now you're rather rushing to judgment. When you've a long series filled with such, and I have no assurance that my contributions will be kept here, I hesitate (a hesitation I'd hope you would understand) to spend much of my time to address specifics until I've achieved some level of assurance that I will have a voice and a chance to
And I must say that your haste to label me as 'typical' and not willing to do something that I've not really had any motivation, thus far, to do, is not encouraging. I have enough choices of arguments to respond to that I both can, and need to be, selective about where I engage and where it's
Can I have an assurance that you will not remove any of my posts and will allow me to post video responses? Feel free to look at my vids posted up to this point if you have any questions as to the caliber of dialog I engage in.
2) The statement "we don't call Mormons Christian bashers." Of course you don't, Mormons ARE Christians. From my good friend Answer. com, a definition for Christian: 1. One who professes belief in Jesus as Christ or follows the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus. 2. One who lives according to the teachings of Jesus.
If Mormons don't qualify as Christians then you don't either, and Mormons would rather not bash themselves, thank you.
1) You throw "Mormons" into one collectively brainwashed whole, where none thinks for him or herself. Just as in any other religion some are more tolerant than others, Mormons aren't perfect either (that's kind of the point of this life). People tend to find it offensive when they are lumped into an unintelligent group of inconsiderate humans, so please stop generalizing. You will sound much more credible and unbiased when you do.
That label has been applied in recent years to basically mean that whatever has been said is either offensive or contains some very blatant lies (they are offensive because either the person saying them does not check his/her sources or is consciously lying). How would you like it if I said that your religion brainwashes you and that it is founded by Satan?
Oh, and if calling someone "anti-Mormon" is a sin, I'm guilty. I have gone to conferences of my church where men have been out-side waving extremely offensive posters, telling everyone there we were all going straight to Hell, and being quite rude the whole time. I don't say that everyone outside of my faith acts like that, but those men (and women too, unfortunately) were most certainly "anti-Mormon."
Hello, Does anybody know who this lady is? I'd like to know to ask her a couple of questions.
Thank you!
