  • am buying my gear soon, virgin kite surfer, you keep saying die and alive, how can this kill you?? i had 3 motorcycle crashes and am still 60% operational, i dont want to die drowning otherwise am good

  • I think that sitting here on our asses isnt gonna help much with the learning to fly the kite. We have to be out there and experiences ourselves.. all that thing the instructor said above its fucking confusing as hell u pull the bar u push the bar WHATTTT ?! However learning the basic things like setting up the kite and all the wiring helps a lot ! thanksss

  • @zero00tolerance well.. it's show and tell here on youtube, I had no problem understanding what he was explaining.. but as he said in the first vid "If you are too cheap to take lessons then this is for you" probably was a hint ;)

  • I wish some one would come out and land my kite when ever I tap my head....

  • 1:11 4. why not wear one at all times deep or shallo

  • hmm not bad but I'm sure u can make it more simple I'm still not sure how to teach my guys ^^ (I'm starting as a kite instructor this summer)

  • Great Video! First time flying, did everything as you said, had great couple of hours and didn't crash !

  • @chryyps you actually watched this video, got no help and stayed alive? good job :)

  • Why are there so many thumbs down on pretty much every comment on here???

  • bravo! thank you so much!!!

  • thanks for tips. keep it real

  • Very good video. I had no Idea. I looked this up after my pal was killed by being dragged 4 weeks ago. He was a watersports instructor and was blown headfirst into the slipway at the watersports centre. I'm a windsurfer and happy with the risks of that sport. Kitesurfing is much more dangerous than windsurfing. When this dude says "If you do it wrong you gonna kill yourself!" He isn't making a joke.

There's little time to react. I would ask : why no helmet in kitesurfing?

  • Agreed :) I'm a kiteboarder and I'm also happy with the risks I take with it ... why just this summer I suicided (and yeah I know its wrong to say it like that :P) into the beach from around 5 - 15 meters and stopped into a sigh xDxDxD but I'm kinda of a lunatic (more a adrenalin junkie) and I was laughing when I stopped into that sigh ... I like the risk because without it ... well let's be honest ITS NO FUN :D the danger and risk is part of it all :) and PS : He did say helmet in part one ^^

  • click on the ads inside the video if you liked it!!

  • Thanks very much. I will watch this again before my first lesson.

  • you should defenetly learn kitesurfing at a kite school!!!

  • Very helpful - I watched before taking my lesson and was able to catch on much more quickly. Thanks

  • I liked the assistant most :-)

Just kidding, good video, I am just starting....

  • Thanks for your time... I enjoyed your video

  • Thanks so much for the vid. Ive been looking all over for a 5 lining a kite and nothing until now when i wasent looking for it! Great video!

  • That's a good video.. Very good to learn some basics but... i think it's always better to spend some money taking lessons....

    Anyway.. very good!!!

  • This Dude IS hilarioussssssss , but best kites SUCK! never get one they are cheep but they dont work as well as other kites, if you want a great kite its goin to coust you more

  • that was an excellent video! superb!

  • Ha ha ha ha ha...... dude you're the best! Can you please explain in detail how to fly the kite at 4 o'clock? Ha ha ha ha.....People are going to kill themselves after watching this clip. To anyone out there.... TAKE LESSONS! Its worth it.

  • loveeed the video.. and the accent.. ur so funny bro.. "or ur goin to kill urself.." haha

  • hey thanks for the time you took to help me get into k.s. just got my 12m bow to get going. flew my trainer in winds today and tested out the landing and it helped. i'll let you know how it works out in kiting brasils tropical islands next month. I would figure not lots of first aid out in the jungle.

  • muy bueno gracias podrias ponerle traduccion en español gracias

  • thank you!!

  • Ha Ha it does!!!! Sounds like one of them...

  • Are you the voice for that character of Sesame St...???

  • ahhaha yesss. he sounds exactly like bert. lol.

  • actually i am an iko certified kitesurfing instructor...

  • @PrimalVisionsRadio Who said only certified people can give advice you morron ?!!! This guy is great and he's funny...unlike you !!!

  • thanks. I like that you don't waste time on obvious things like that tool from Miami Sky Banditz haha.

    Great intro.

  • thanks for the time looks neato!!

  • gonna be a pain in the ass you gonna break your back! i love this guy

  • Thank you!

  • Great video. The explanation makes sence.

  • That was neat to watch - I think I'll be getting into this next year!

  • this vid saved me money!

  • Please make more videos like this!!!

Watched many kitesurfing DVD's before, but in none of them was told how to fly kite so clear as you did. Thanks!

  • it is impossible to "fly the kite a 4:00." Unless you are about 60 feet tall.

  • lol thats true

  • excelent explanation

  • I dont know if I learned anything but its fun to watch you :D

  • This guy has something REALLY funny on him and I enjoyed the video with some hearty laughs - not to forget: this is one of the best tutorial videos for the beginners out there!! Simply great.. :))

  • It's nice to have an actual visual on this. Thanks!

  • And my kite has only small attachment robes (-+ 5cm) on the sides of the kite for the steering lines. (4 on each side) And one line in the middle with a lot of knots in it.

I attached the powerlines to the attachment robes on the front of each side, and the steering lines to the attachment robes on the back of each side. The 5th line I attached to the line in the middle on the middle knot. It did fly but I have no clue wheter I did it right or not. Was I close to getting myself killed?

    :)

  • I like this tutorial a lot! There is only 1 thing I don't get. What did you do with the 2 lines in the middle? Where dit you attach the powerlines?

And if you had a 5th line (like me) what would you have done with that?

  • Usually the outside (steering lines) go to the back of the kite. The middle lines go to the front to control the kites Angle of Attack which controls the power, greater the angle (longer lines) the more power. 5th line is probably a safety line.

best to read the manual or if you get a 2nd hand kite look for the manual online like I did.

  • confirmed, the fifth line (central one) is attached to the leading edge and is a further safety measure. Basically when you release the lines, the fifth remains attached and let the kite flip over, depowering it totally. The good thing is that you won't lose it.

  • Siilats - great video. I just have one recommendation for those who have never flown a kite before: buy a small traction kite and practice with it first. Learn control. The first kite I ever flew was a 3.5M HQ Beamer II in 35-40 mph gusts on land. It was impossible (for me)to fly standing up and I had to practically lay on my back to fly it in winds that high. A mistake like that (flying in too high winds as a beginner) will cost you body parts with a bigger kite.

  • Great video... but 4 o'clock is below the horizon isn't it??

    Cheers,

    Tom.

  • 3 words "I LOVE YOU" make more videos!

  • Siilats, are you also gonna make some instruction movies for the starting part in the water and for the waterrelaunch for example?

  • When are you going to a part 3 and 4 .

    Thanks

  • " i wanna see agressive movements.. " what he means he asked me to make the kite turn agressively pressing and holing down the bar to the right and then fast press the bar to the left.. and leave it on 12 oclock.. to be honest i didnt suffered any accident but after the lessons i got kind of scared of the sport.... is the instructor bad? or is it just me?? on your video i dont see u making any agressive movements..maybe i should go another kite school.sorry for my english.

  • Just go on..He wants you to be more agressive-means turn the kite faster cause thats how you learn the power stroke. This is the key to getting up on a board for a beginer. The goal of these motions is to develop your memory of turning the kite around prior to crashing on the land or water. If you turn too slow, you will not get on the board.

    your english is perfect!

  • i agree, at the end of the video i am showing faster movements, you have to learn them

  • today i took my first lesson.. basically just controlling the kite on land.. but the instructor told me..

  • Why the hell does he reccomend not using a secondary leash if your a begginer? thats wrong.

  • because i havent yet seen a beginner who can figure out how to use it. i have seen plenty of twisted arms though. the ones that velcro around your arm are the worst

  • Great tutorial. I've never been kite surfing but this was a fine introduction to the basics and I enjoyed it. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

  • Kite will always be down-wind to the person flying it!!! Agree??

To take it to 10 O'clock the kite needs to-go-to over your head then must come down to 10 O'clock. Cannot pass 12 O'clock as the kit will catch all the wind. Is this right people?

  • clock is 2D whereas the wind window is 3D. you can be 12oclock above your head, which is safe, or you can be 12 oclock deep in the power zone which is not safe

  • In terms of explaining based on Clock (imagine if u draw a clock on the ground flat, with 12 O'clock straight down wind):

2 O'clock and perhaps 10 O'clock is most important to know (after watching the guy explain). If 4 O'clock the kite is up-wind, this is will not happen.

  • Buy a $10 kite. Learn how to keep it up and stable, then hovver it 18inches off the ground for and aft. Do loop da loops and whatever. If you cant do it with a $10 kite, dont risk your neck!

  • just look at related videos, other people have done it

  • Dude, you should also make a video about waterstarting etc.

  • Hmm not sure about not having the secondary safety line attatched, i thought that was crucial to have on unless it is absolutely necessary to release

  • nice tutorial, i like how you actually say like and something a lot, not trying to be hell formal like most tutorials...

  • Not a bad tutorial, but there is still no way that I would start kiting without first flying a trainer (4m or less) and a short lesson. Watching this video only means that you will be a little more informed when you go for your lesson.

  • pls just need a close when he is setting the lines thats the important thing, if you explain it in a close are just showing how to set up the lines will be great you know some people never get to the instructors to start kiting.

  • there is an o at the end of the line. put the same line through the o, so you will get an o that adjusts smaller and bigger, then just slide it over the other lines knot

  • wtf i cant understand whut the hell this guy is saying it is not hard to kitesurf anyways!

  • damn estonians with their accents :)
