@pancraslesly yea man. as far as main stream goes, kurt cobain put the nail in the coffin for the 80's and made something new called "GRUNGE". all the bands of today (that are rock/alternative) have one thing in common: they all descend from grunge. theres no doubt.

Because I'm sure Muse is just as big of a fan as you are...why else would they play one of their songs at a concert where half the people probably have never even heard it? I mean, let's be honest with ourselves here, about 80% of the people that have commented on here were born AFTER Kurt died.
I love Nirvana, don't get me wrong, and Kurt is my fucking hero, but I also think very highly of Muse as they are a very complex band, mainstream or not.
Besides, take note that Nirvana was the equivalent of Rihanna in the 90's in terms of popularity.

i dont really like muse, but since i was at roskilde this year i thought id see them, and when they played this school. my mouth just dropped. im myself a huge nirvana fan. at ive never experience that before. first i thought it was a rip off cause they just started playing another song right afterwords like it was a part of one of their own songs. but they didnt :P
