Not going to say that country music is terrible and that I hate it but it will never compare to country in the 90's. There is something wrong when 'country songs' are being played on pop stations as well now..
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
@244tristian, Thank you! I thought I'd find it on Youtube. I'm glad I asked ! I knew I remembered that song, its just like I remembered it to ( cool )!
Any of ya'll know a song " I was coming out the door of the 7 11 with a bag o chips and some bean dip baby, she was singing like she got saved and waving her hands towards heaven and i said good lord if you gonna save this one save this one for me" I can't find the song I thought Rick Trevino sang it
@pnyxprez that'd be "save this one for me" and yes he sings it. there's a music video on yahoo music, and there's plenty of site's that have it, like grooveshark, and myspace
there's nothing i wouldnt do to see pre-2000s country music come back into the airwaves and all other media. these days are sad times for country music fans....anyways on a good note, rick's new album, "whole town blue" is finally available to listen to on myspace
I had almost forgot about Rick Trevino, but had a lightbulb moment a couple days ago while I was looking for good music to post!!! Thanks for posting!!
yeah country has really changed in the last 10 years! But now i dont feel alone having tatoos and piercings and listening to country... seams to be the norm today!
I'm almost 16 and I can say country music doesn't get any better than the 90s. There are some great artists today like Easton Corbin, Chris Young, James Otto, Billy Currington, Craig Morgan, etc. But Taylor Swift needs to go. I'm about the only person my age that I know of who doesn't like Taylor Swift. That is not music. Nothing beats Blackhawk, Earl Thomas Conley, Keith Whitley, even going as far back as Conway Twitty.
This young man can sing a song very well. This is what I wish we had today, More like him. We have to endure the Country POP Crap every 10 years or so. But I really wish we could just stay with good Country Music like this and others.
Damon Sharpe's character reminds me a lot of the guy in "The Notebook" movie. I love the love that you feel in the memories, the looks exchanged, the experiences shared. Whoever wrote the script did a great job.
I've never heard Rick Trevino before. He's got a really good voice & good talent on the guitar.
I really like it when Damon's peeling taters to the beat of the song. It made that portion of the story run noticeably smooth with the video. Great touch.
I have been looking for this song for so long, I am so glad to have found it, thank you for sharing it:), it takes me right back to the early 90s, some great times for country music, they dont sing like this anymore.... whats Rick doing now?
He only has a picture to remind him as he watches the house left behind by the woman that loved him. As he recalls the days of a life more relaxed with love and laughter filling his ears. If he only listened to her then.................their history could have been rewritten perhaps.
I have been in love with Ricksince i was five i got my first autograph from him I had the same music teacher as him both vocal and piano she was awesome obviously big up's Ms Cavendish
That was STONE country! I love all of the twang that Rick put into this song. I had all of these images of bull riders in tough competition for prize money at a rodeo.
i can listen to anything as long as it has a good beat to it.. but early 90's country, you can get no better than that... they just dont make country music like this anymore..
@oddstreetbob Early 90s country was very good. But around the mid 90s as a teenager I started not liking the mainstream country that was on the radio. Shania Twain killed country forever. I listen to Alt Country and I like more than just beat. I prefer lyrics.
I saw him in concert about a month ago and I will tell you that the guy is sooo totally amazing and talented. His voice was wonderful. My husband and I stool about 5 feet from him, and let me tell you that I am definitely a fan now.
I so loved this song and the video! The early to mid 90's were the best for modern country music. The lead actor in the video was easy on the eyes too!:-)
@giffeym Yep. The lead actor is Damon Sharpe. He used to be a dancer/singer & in a group from the 90s called The Guys Next Door. Now he's producing records, writing songs, even had his own music company. He has got an amazing singing voice. It's the kind of voice that can soothe the nerves. There are a couple of his solo songs on YouTube also.
Agree - 90's Country was the Tops with Rick, Ty Herndon, James Bonamy, etc. Today's cross-over Country/Pop (more Pop than Country IMHO) just doesn't work for me!
@tazntpa Um, Ty Herndon was Pop Country and he was mid 90s. Early 90s country was Alan Jackson, Suzy Bogguss, Pam Tillis, Highway 101, McBride and Ride, Garth, of course, and thats how dominated the charts, but they were good.
@windmiller1989 same thing people said back when this song was popular. And the generation before that, and the one before that. Everybody wants to like the previous generations music more. Someday people will look back and long for the "real country" of 2010.
Regardless of what country music era you prefer, I think it's hard to deny that country music really started losing it's soul over the course of the last decade. Now we've got garbage like Taylor Swift who has taken over the world, despite being one of the most untalented, generic "performers" around.
@tazntpa i totally agree....the 90's country was great, you can still find a lot of the 90's country in places like goodwill and such...ebay even has it...ive found tons of artists you never heard of but their music is so great!
I both like and dislike this video. But then, in this it plays to the two parts of who I have been having known this song.
The song is a cool divorce song for those who get in too quick. The video has no real play for this.
But the video is still interesting in the good 'ol church boy idea and loss that seems so important at the time, which the song can also relate to, though the lyrics don't exactly match up with that kind of loss.
Rick had some great chart toppers in the 1990's from bobbie ann mason, honky tonk crowd, doctor time, she cant say she didnt cry, learning as you go, i love all his songs got the complete collection, and i have over 300 myself.
I liked Rick's songs, but he has dropped off the charts and I don't hear anything about him or his records anymore. He resembled Donny Osmond to me lol But he had some good songs.
Rick has always been a good friend of mine..we grew up together and graduated same school same year in Austin Tx...he is a truly genuine person...Good job Rick...What up Adam??
Very true,cnlaw.

Country Music did not start in Tennessee, it started in the south west, with Mexican Cowboys and the Anglo Americans picked up on it.
