  • Very true,cnlaw.

  • Not going to say that country music is terrible and that I hate it but it will never compare to country in the 90's. There is something wrong when 'country songs' are being played on pop stations as well now..

  • Country Music did not start in Tennessee, it started in the south west, with Mexican Cowboys and the Anglo Americans picked up on it.

  • Proof us Mexicans like country music...this is how we impress the white girls :-) Dont hate been married to her for 12 years and counting.

  • Country Music was at it's peak with FARON YOUNG in the late 50s and early 60s! not the 90's!

  • Go ! fighting texas aggie !

  • this is back when country was good.

  • this is country music i wish they made music like this today

  • We need Rick and all the other singers of the 90s, who went under the radar to come back. Today's country music just sucks.

  • @cnlaw SO TRUE!!

  • can anybody link me legit chords to this? the ones im finding are all way off

  • @244tristian, Thank you! I thought I'd find it on Youtube. I'm glad I asked ! I knew I remembered that song, its just like I remembered it to ( cool )!

  • Any of ya'll know a song " I was coming out the door of the 7 11 with a bag o chips and some bean dip baby, she was singing like she got saved and waving her hands towards heaven and i said good lord if you gonna save this one save this one for me" I can't find the song I thought Rick Trevino sang it

  • @pnyxprez that'd be "save this one for me" and yes he sings it. there's a music video on yahoo music, and there's plenty of site's that have it, like grooveshark, and myspace

  • hes my uncle! dang how i miss this music...

  • Im doing crowd control at his concert at the end of this mounth in Georgetown Texas

  • there's nothing i wouldnt do to see pre-2000s country music come back into the airwaves and all other media. these days are sad times for country music fans....anyways on a good note, rick's new album, "whole town blue" is finally available to listen to on myspace

  • I'm loving hearing his vocals again! I was blessed hearing tem in high school! You rock Ricky!

  • sexy man

  • Beautiful song, awesome subtle twang. Love it! Wish there was something like it today.

  • My mommy took me with her to see him when I was really young. <3

  • I love this song...forgot all about it. Newly divorced, I feel like I'm learning as I go. Great song to dance to.....just need a cowboy!!

  • I had almost forgot about Rick Trevino, but had a lightbulb moment a couple days ago while I was looking for good music to post!!! Thanks for posting!!

  • yeah country has really changed in the last 10 years! But now i dont feel alone having tatoos and piercings and listening to country... seams to be the norm today!

  • Where did the good artist like this go?

  • Great song.

  • I'm almost 16 and I can say country music doesn't get any better than the 90s. There are some great artists today like Easton Corbin, Chris Young, James Otto, Billy Currington, Craig Morgan, etc. But Taylor Swift needs to go. I'm about the only person my age that I know of who doesn't like Taylor Swift. That is not music. Nothing beats Blackhawk, Earl Thomas Conley, Keith Whitley, even going as far back as Conway Twitty.

  • nothing will replace 90's music or even the 80's. i dont like much of the new country that is out now. bring back the good ol' country.

  • he is so hot!

  • Mr Trevino would be my ideal man....where you at????? --ndnmamaof_2@yahoo.com email me..... :(

  • is rick trevino still singing??? I love this song!

  • @CalebsMomJess Yup down in austin where i grew up , Austin Texas , where there is live music every night of the week all year long .

  • This young man can sing a song very well. This is what I wish we had today, More like him. We have to endure the Country POP Crap every 10 years or so. But I really wish we could just stay with good Country Music like this and others.

  • I wonder where he went off to, He is a great singer

  • I was listening to this when I was younger Im 24 now. Wow days fly by to fast. This was the best country

  • totally agrees with oddstreetbob

  • Damon Sharpe's character reminds me a lot of the guy in "The Notebook" movie. I love the love that you feel in the memories, the looks exchanged, the experiences shared. Whoever wrote the script did a great job.

I've never heard Rick Trevino before. He's got a really good voice & good talent on the guitar.

I really like it when Damon's peeling taters to the beat of the song. It made that portion of the story run noticeably smooth with the video. Great touch.

  • I have been looking for this song for so long, I am so glad to have found it, thank you for sharing it:), it takes me right back to the early 90s, some great times for country music, they dont sing like this anymore.... whats Rick doing now?

  • some spanish country thing,

  • He only has a picture to remind him as he watches the house left behind by the woman that loved him. As he recalls the days of a life more relaxed with love and laughter filling his ears. If he only listened to her then.................their history could have been rewritten perhaps.

  • This song reminds me of a girl from India that went to summer school with me when this song first came out.

  • Great song by a great singer and a great guy. I saw him in concert back in 1994 and he signed every single autograph in the line.

  • rick trevino is AWESOME!!!

  • hey he goes to my church and just preformed there last night i dint know he was famous

  • you can tell him that he has fans down in the pacific northwest!!! it would be awesome to get an autograph..

  • Where at? He was one of my favorite country singers in the 90s then just kind of disappeared.

  • you gotta be kidding me! lucky!

  • I have been in love with Ricksince i was five i got my first autograph from him I had the same music teacher as him both vocal and piano she was awesome obviously big up's Ms Cavendish

  • this is my favorite song. i saw rick trevino in concert and got his autograph. that was the best night of my life

  • I love this song. Thank you for sharing.

  • That was STONE country! I love all of the twang that Rick put into this song. I had all of these images of bull riders in tough competition for prize money at a rodeo.

  • Wonder if I'm related to him.. WE share the last name and both from Texas. hmmm

  • i can listen to anything as long as it has a good beat to it.. but early 90's country, you can get no better than that... they just dont make country music like this anymore..

  • Amen!

  • @oddstreetbob Early 90s country was very good. But around the mid 90s as a teenager I started not liking the mainstream country that was on the radio. Shania Twain killed country forever. I listen to Alt Country and I like more than just beat. I prefer lyrics.

  • @VASINGER i agree w/o good lyrics, a song is lacking

  • @oddstreetbob yes i know, it's quite troublesome

  • Wow !! Great song and vid.

  • Miss him so much!!!Love this song!P.S. I agree--with tazntpa

  • I wish that he would come out with a greatest hits CD. That would be awesome!

  • This song has a special place in my heart but i really dont understand it is he talking about his first love or is this a divorce song?

  • This is a boys first love, although I am 63, It still puts me in that special place

  • He graduated from the same high school i'm to right now.

Westwood high school in Austin, Texas.

  • I saw him in concert about a month ago and I will tell you that the guy is sooo totally amazing and talented. His voice was wonderful. My husband and I stool about 5 feet from him, and let me tell you that I am definitely a fan now.

  • Rick played at my cousins grad party. Pretty cool dude

  • I so loved this song and the video! The early to mid 90's were the best for modern country music. The lead actor in the video was easy on the eyes too!:-)

  • @giffeym Yep. The lead actor is Damon Sharpe. He used to be a dancer/singer & in a group from the 90s called The Guys Next Door. Now he's producing records, writing songs, even had his own music company. He has got an amazing singing voice. It's the kind of voice that can soothe the nerves. There are a couple of his solo songs on YouTube also.

  • Could you by chance find "Just Enough Rope" by RT?

  • "So girl take it easy, on this heart of mine." Love this song. Brings back great memories. 1990's Country was tops!

  • You said it! '90s country was awesome!

  • Agree - 90's Country was the Tops with Rick, Ty Herndon, James Bonamy, etc. Today's cross-over Country/Pop (more Pop than Country IMHO) just doesn't work for me!

  • @tazntpa Um, Ty Herndon was Pop Country and he was mid 90s. Early 90s country was Alan Jackson, Suzy Bogguss, Pam Tillis, Highway 101, McBride and Ride, Garth, of course, and thats how dominated the charts, but they were good.

  • @tazntpa you hit the nail right on the head there. that song ole george straight does

"someone comitted murder on music row" is true, this country now a days isnt country at all

  • @windmiller1989 same thing people said back when this song was popular. And the generation before that, and the one before that. Everybody wants to like the previous generations music more. Someday people will look back and long for the "real country" of 2010.

  • @texasusa05

Regardless of what country music era you prefer, I think it's hard to deny that country music really started losing it's soul over the course of the last decade. Now we've got garbage like Taylor Swift who has taken over the world, despite being one of the most untalented, generic "performers" around.

  • @tazntpa thanks for the names, i grew up listening and loving 90's country but its hard to find the good ones

  • @tazntpa i totally agree....the 90's country was great, you can still find a lot of the 90's country in places like goodwill and such...ebay even has it...ive found tons of artists you never heard of but their music is so great!

  • Love the video..But where did the "Separate Ways" video disappear to?? :-( I miss it!

  • One of my favorite all time country songs. I have a lot of memories when I hear this song.

  • i love rick trevino,i miss him and his wonderful music.

  • Haven't heard this in forever !! Love this Song!

  • This reminds me of when I was lil, listening to this song in the car.

    i miss the 90's music.

  • Man, this takes me back.

  • i dont do the white thing or the country but theres sumthing about him that makes him sexy lol idk

  • I both like and dislike this video. But then, in this it plays to the two parts of who I have been having known this song.

The song is a cool divorce song for those who get in too quick. The video has no real play for this.

But the video is still interesting in the good 'ol church boy idea and loss that seems so important at the time, which the song can also relate to, though the lyrics don't exactly match up with that kind of loss.

But whatever, maybe this is useful addition.

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • Rick had some great chart toppers in the 1990's from bobbie ann mason, honky tonk crowd, doctor time, she cant say she didnt cry, learning as you go, i love all his songs got the complete collection, and i have over 300 myself.

  • I liked Rick's songs, but he has dropped off the charts and I don't hear anything about him or his records anymore. He resembled Donny Osmond to me lol But he had some good songs.

  • true. I see a lil bit of Donny.

  • I got to play with the guy who wrote this song, Billy Lawson, very nice guy

  • Very nice song..I love his voice...Needs to make new album...very cool video

  • Rick has always been a good friend of mine..we grew up together and graduated same school same year in Austin Tx...he is a truly genuine person...Good job Rick...What up Adam??

  • Thanks lizzy, I wondered when someone would upload it. Itunes didn't have it. My introduction to country. I love his voice.

  • Ricks a cool dude. He needs to come back w/ some more music.

  • Amazing song and story! Takes me back to the good ole Bluefield Days!!!

    Eric
