dont buy daewoo's there a cheap hoe i dont like them they are ok for like what hes doing but save and buy a komatsu or cat they are good kobelco makes an alright hoe to
Depends on where, what equipment you can operate, and skill level obviously, and union or not. When I was laid off this past august I was making 17 an hour for a small company (thats after a few years experience, pretty proficient on the dozer, excavator, backhoe, and loader), could have been making 36 and hour in the union.
well im in high school right now and i go half day at my regular school and half day at a school where i learn how to drive. After high school im planning on trying to get into college to get my license or certification card or w/e it is to drive these.
I went to a trade school in NH to get my certification, good experience and good to get to know the ins and outs of machines but my certification didn't get me anywhere as far as getting a job. My suggestion to you, and this is coming from someone who is 23, is go to college and get a associates in something useful, then if your still interested in operating, try and get a job.
Operating is a great job and I loved everyday of it, but with this current economy guys with 20 years experience are laid off looking for jobs. Unfortunately they usually get first dibs on jobs simply because experience, even though you might be a great operator. I use to layout and dig a basement a day, compared to the older guys taking two or sometimes three days and I got laid off first simply because they were there longer than me.
thats the funniest thing because ive been looking at a heavy equipment trade school in NH! I was figureing on going there to get certified, I wanna get certified in crane too, Plus get my CDL license.
Crane certification is well worth it. I knew a guy in the union working in philly making almost 100 an hour in a tower crane. Big money in crane work.
@bill647 hey man don't get pissed but komat'su is a japanese cat just cheaper
