If you appreciate what boxing experts call 'cuties,' then you'll love Mims. He didn't win with power and/or speed. He won with a solid overall boxing knowledge and skill. He boxed well enough to beat sluggers on points, and pressed well enough to outhustle boxers. Now his record is spotty, but his solid chin and great performances against IBOF competition makes him a great, although he never challenged for nor won a world title.
I had trained and sparred with Rubin in Ehsan's training camp in Chatam for several years with him and I also boxed for 2 weeks with Holly in DC. Mims was amazing and knew all the tricks in that ring. He gave Ray Robinson some great fight right after SRR stopped LaMotta, Holly was his next bout. There are some crazy behind the scenes stories about Carter v Mims, but the bout shows both men swinging for the seats.
That's gotta be the fastest left hook I've ever seen

They had this fight on ESPN Classic last night. Wish I could find the whole thing here on YouTube.
