@GuidesAndMetal no... not really... it just slips of the variator. but to take the variator you need some thing to stop it spining when ur undoing the nut. i used a metal wedge between the variator cog and the case as in the video shown.
i see you put the washer back on which you told us you could take of to get an extra 7-8mph why did you put the washer back on after replacing the belt? thanks
the washer That im describing is just a small thin metal or sometimes a plastic washer which is about 15mm in Diameter and 2-3mm thick, little like the washers you find under a nut on most bolts. but this little thing has an effect on the way the belt & variator works! its unnecessary resistance that slows your moped down. PLEASE DO NOT confuse this for the long metal PIN (2-3inch long) that goes onto the Cranck shaft which the belt spins and variator sits on. hope this helps
@TheRepublic1 who know you need to do a dyno test but my guess is that you'll probably get between 60-65mph out of it (assuming you have a 17.5 carb with 65-72 Jet)
Hehe well, i cleared up the lubrication, then tested and no avail, then becuase i fitted a new air filter i cleaned up the carb, and still no avail. im about to reattach the old air filter as i think it may be causing my scooter to cut out! i have yet to add a new leo vince exhaust, and a 70cc bore kit. Exhaust is being a pain as the nuts are rusted and the tool needed to get them off just slips off. also ive just added a new soundboard which sounds awesome :D thanks for the reply :)
@ScottWebster94 apart from you being unable to remove the exhaust whats actually happening to ur scooter at the moment....? I may be able to help with tuning advice ;D
this helped me alot today, hardest but was to wedge it to get the nut off, anyway i fitted everything but the belt seems to be slipping. Maybe because there is some crap my dad put on it, but ill wait for it to dry and see if it stops slipping. thanks for the guide :)
@ScottWebster94 Im glad it help you and gave u an idea on how things work, the belt & variator has to be dry. NO lubrication at all! you can apply only some very very slight grease on the variator where the rollers sits but thats all. Happy Tunning ;D
