I had a similar experience in high school... there was a required Keyboarding class (for most students it was a half-year course, but the curriculum I was taking required 2 full years of it). On day one I clocked in at something like 90 wpm, so I didn't have to do squat, and spent two years messing around with Snake and the weird gorilla game in QBASIC on the crappy old DOS-based IBM computers they were still using.
Can I request in comments? If so, I request you play Meimon! Takonishi Ouendan - Kouha 6 Nin Shuu, at least for the first 2 stages, sometime in the far(or near) future.
in my programming class in high school, I hardly ever did anything. I was a freshman, and so I paired up with three seniors and a junior. one guy did all the work and we copy/pasted everything from him (we paid him about 50 bucks after the class was done though in appreciation). That year I had the teacher for programming and geometry, so I would grade all the geometry and programming papers in the classes. it was awesome. haha. I was even grading my own papers most the time.
Arkanoid is nearly unplayable without the special paddle controller that came with it. And it's much better in the arcade, where the paddle is weighted so you can really throw your ship left and right quickly.
Me as the computer wizard of the class, grouped with the teacher's suckup, the teacher's favorite girl, and two random freshmen, played games and nothing else. We passed the class with perfect scores.
The rest of the class was mostly freshmen, but halfway through the course they realized this was happening and joined us. Almost nobody even did the final for the class.
DERP! I need a laser or something. So let me never use the laser every time i get it, and let one deliberately drop, because the L on that one i think means LOVE.
I request that you try playing Super Ninja Boy for the SNES. It's a pretty unique game that not many people know about. I don't think you should beat it, though... it gets very confusing and rather boring later on. It's still a good game to show off, however.
I was totally singing the Star Tropics song in my head, then Zeta called me out on it. That was awesome.

Really? I was pretty sure that Breakout was a copy of Arkanoid.

@BloodyFlame0 nah, breakout was from the 70s, arkanoid was from 80s.

Is this the new name for the games that are good but you're not gonna complete them?

They actually made a special controller for this. Kind of a kick back to the days of the 2600.

It almost makes me miss Block Kuzushi!
The best part was how you would still PASS Tech Ed even though you were playing DX Ball and drawing numerous Magnemite in AutoCAD the whole time.
Those geometric are vicious. But I always love Taito games. They are my favourite old-school publisher. Our names are practically the same and all.

We still passed, but EVERYONE ELSE FAILED LOL

Aw man..that was Archanoid...and you made me laugh out loud at it. Zeta, you god among LPers. XD
Though I guess Arkanoid isn't that hard to laugh at if you only play it for a little while. <.<;
Also, playing Breakout clones totally was the best way to spend the school day. At least until the internet started being a little...good.
