  • Also can i use my pocket wizards to set of the lights instead of a skyport which elinchrom seem to pair up with?

  • Can i still shoot at 1/6000 shutter even with normal pocket wizards plus 2?

  • I was corrected this week on a lighting forum by a user.

    Note:

With S head connected to head A only, you get max 400 w/s

With A head connected to Head A only, you get max 265 w/s

With S head connected to A, and B you get 66/33 (of 400 ws))

With A Head connected to A and B you get 66/33 (of 265 ws)

thanks Vlordk! you were told correctly (for A head, anyway).

  • @mikewinburn With A head connected to Head A only, you get max 400 w/s!!!! no 265 )))

  • @parleonid ... well, i didn't go with the Quadra, and was told different things by different folks... in the end, if someone isn't a user, its tough to really trust their hear-say.... like mine :) Anyway, if someone who actually owns the product could chime in, that would be nice. thanks parleonid for the heads up!

  • i just stopped at a Superstore in NYC and had opportunity to handle the Quadra. Boy is is tiny and definitely portable. The heads are tiny as well.

Any way, the rep and printing on the battery suggested when using B head only, full wattage was available (400 w/s power). When using 2 heads, the B head becomes the speed head, therefore 66/33% on the 400 w/s.

f/16 at 2.2m is only 1 ilght attached.

Thanks Valordk for the information on the T0.1

  • another quick question...

f/16 at 2.2meters.... with one light attached or maxed even with 2 lights attached?

    thanks

    m

  • 400 w/s of power... hhhmmm... anyone know if its 400 w/s only if one light is attached, or is it 400w/s its max divided into the 66/33?

    thanks

    m

  • @mikewinburn I was told, you wont be able to get 400w out of a single head. The maximum output of a single head is 66% ouf 400 (around 265 W)

  • 1/6000 sec quote is a con to make people believe their flash units produce high freezing capabilities. In relation to freezing the truth is manufacturers who quote t0.5 ratings freeze 3 times slower on average, Quadra is nearer 1/2000 sec.

Only a few flash manufacturers use IGBT tail off technology rated to T0.1 - in other words if they quote 1/6000 sec it will freeze action similar to a cameras shutter at 1/6000 sec.

Look for T0.1 specs for true freezing capabilities and not industry cons.

  • Set with 2 Speed Flasheads, Ranger quadra porty with 2 battery packs -> 1900€

  • how much would one of these go for?

  • What beauties the Quadra Rangers are! Even more appealing than Profoto Acute heads! I'm salivating at the mere sight of them!..

  • Not sure what to go for, this or the bowens 500 Pro with travel pack

  • sweet

  • sweeeet!

  • I can't wait to get one.

  • nice
