  • Hello igvmyslf1000pts,

I just had to come by again and re-watch this video. It's fun, funny and haunting at the same time.

I hope all is going well for you. May you keep doing these for as long as you enjoy doing them.

    -Sal

  • Wow - great version of this song. Will you be doing a version of my two favorite Merkin songs. . .I'M ALL I NEED and OH WHAT A SON OF A BITCH I AM?

I have two version of the HM movie, and neither of them have the SON OF A BITCH song. The only difference between the two versions I have is that one has an extra shot of Milton Berle pouring blood on a girl during the Satanic ritual scene.

  • Awesome choice of material and a terrific version. Love the "Little Merkin" doll(s). By the way...and I'm asking this wherever I see a Heironymous Merkin vid...do you actually know what a merkin is? It adds a whole new dimension to the title when you do. I've had the lp soundtrack (2 copies actually) for the film for many years but only recently discovered some of the film posted on YouTube. I'd LOVE to have a copy & be able to see the whole thing.

  • HAHA, yes, my friend and I found out the hard way just what a merkin is. We even found t-shirts with like... well never mind.... o.O

Unfortunately, the only available copy of HM you can get a hold of now is the CUT version, which I didn't know until I watched it and saw that some of the songs weren't in it... like the "Son of a Bitch" song, which is the best one, so it was disappointing. :( Maybe someday whoever owns it will get their act together and release it in original form.

  • Is the company that put this DVD out called "Five Minutes To Live?" Just wondering as I just ordered it from them. I can only hope this is the uncut...the company has a lot of out-of-the-way titles on their website, but who knows how they get them? Please let me know if this is the source of your DVD so I can know what level of excitement to adopt...PS: What exactly is "the hard way" with a discovery of this nature?

  • Almost forgot...t-shirts with what? I must know what a t-shirt featuring a merkin is like...if the world isn't quite ready you can always send me a private message. The curiosity is keeeeeling me...

  • I imagine they would be quite....uhh, fuzzy

    XD

  • I thought you were cool.

    Now I know...

    You are god.

  • I just saw this movie last night and let me tell you, you have Anthony Newley's vocal mannerisms down pat!

Now do "I'm All I Need"!

  • Wonderful, Melanie.

You may not be an ACCLAIMED singer, but you're a good one.

You've also produced a creative video here. I'd love to see your version of "On The Board", from the same movie, which myfirstlovesong has posted.

I hope to see more from you.

    Thanks.

  • Ha, well thank you very much. And I WILL be getting my version of that song up SOMEday. I started a project MONTHS ago to do that one and a few others, but I never finished for some reason. I WILL though. I just have a couple more shots to film.

    Thanks! :)

  • wow, it was weird, but i liked it. And you look pretty in that video ;)

  • I can't get your version out of my head

  • Oh my you are a hoot ,keep it coming

  • loool! I've never even heard of this film, but I couldn't stop giggling at this (your voice is classic, lmaO!)

I could never tire of your special brand of crazy Mel :) you rawk!

  • LOL, yeah, it's not too well known except among the Newley fans. It's like this... BAD, x-rated, semi-autobiographical movie musical he made in the late 60s... HAHA. My friend and I haven't seen it yet, but we're on a mission to perform all the songs from it. THEN we'll watch it, and see how unrelated our videos are compared to the real movie. LMAO

    Mel

  • Twud be unbelievable funny if they were close to the film. Yeah I looked it up after watching this. It sounds.....weird to say the least. Where the Hell did you even get the songs from? lol

  • The shot of Ken driving away makes my tears well up every time. This is actually pretty close to how the number is set up in the film. But wouldn't an inflatable doll give you more dramatic options?

  • You look like the love child of one of the Ramones and Cher... and I mean that in a good way.

  • WTF!!!! is that u singing???

  • HAHAHAHHAA, UM. Yes. Yes it is. I don't sing.

  • Oh,hon u r rely good... BTW were u about to eat Ken????

  • Every one a classic!

  • ...oh dear.

  • LMFAO! You guys make life so much more entertaining!

  • REALLY good, Mel! I wouldn't say ya butchered the song; more like made it your own. *I particularly liked you flying @ 1:16-1:35*. This is almost (but not quite) as good as the Producers Medley you did (we both know nothin' tops the 'ducers) a year or so ago.

  • Love the hair!

    It's so butch!

  • *backs away from MrsNathanLane and bows her head. Letting her comment first* lol

  • LOL. Well. I mean,

    IT WAS MYEE IDEEEUUHHH. XDD

    Just kiddin'. ..But it was.

    M

  • It was a good one! *claps for Melanie and MrsNathanLane* hehe

  • LLLLMMMMMFFFFAAAAAOOOOOOOO.

Words..cannot even describe. Oh my God. AHAHAH.

    M

  • Oh...boy.... hehehe. Good job that looks like it took some serious work. *claps like an angry seal*

  • I'm commenting this before I watch it so I'm first. Just in case somebody who doesn't get the depth of the inside joke comments before me. Who is more deserving of being first.

    So. That's all.

    M
