i luv watchin ur channel..im intersted if u went to school for broadcasting if so where did u attend?? im jus a college student that is eager 2 drop in the bussiness that seems u have ventured in..thanks and peace
Wouldn't just using a little conditioner achieve that look? Maybe even a cheep $1 gel to give it that crisp look. Even shingling with somebodies creme to make the curls fall and lock. I wish I knew how to post a pic of here for you. I'd show you mine. What it really comes down to is learning to love your hair, not anyones look. No need to constantly experiment on product. Hair should be easy if you let it.
I am also natural & everyone's hair is different, texture wise and curl wise so what may work for one person may not work for another, I basically do the same stuff she does minus a leave-in conditioner or two lol and that's how my hair stays healthy and moisturized and for me it helps cut down on frizz. I think she's fine as long as the products stay on her hair and don't cause buildup at her roots.
But basically to each their own, what works works as long as you & your hair is happy & healthy!

That is way too much work and product. I don't recommend any of this. I've been natural for 2 & 1/2 years and I can honestly say that none of that is necessary. I'm actually upset that black women think they have to go through all of this by just watching this. Utter ridiculousness
I'm totally open to your tips/advice on how to maintain your hair. I made this video because people were asking ME specifically how I get that particular style BUT if you have a less timely and inexpensive way to take care of your hair, im sure EVERYONE on this chain would love to hear it. Shoot, I know I would. And to keep it 100, it's nothing to get upset about. We're all here trying to figure out how to take care and LOVE the mane that we were blessed with. It's a new world to some.
If you don't agree with any of the tips, don't use them. Obviously they don't apply to you. I've been natural for 5 years and I'm still finding different products that work for me. It's not up to you to recommend anything anyway, because you aren't the one that posted the vid. Stop hatin'. Everyone at their own pace. Not every product works the same way for everybody. Hair should be easy, once you find the right product that works for you.
I may do a video tonight, you guys. I got it done last weekend and this lady put so many cool oils in my hair, I havent seen my hair maintain this texture in a minute. I also trimmed/cut it. yay!
You hair is gorgeous! Love the video, but you didn't tell us how you get it to fluff out like that after you take the twists and rollers out. Thank you.
hey guys! im just now seeing all of these replies. im a slacker. i'll try to do another hair video at an actual hair salon! in the mean time, thanks for the support!
I have natural hair. I like to press my hair and over time, the ends seems so straight after I wash it that it has a tendency to look like a permanent relaxer. I have been natural for 7 years and find this video very informative. In result of that, I have been staying away from the heat so that my hair can recover from the damage. My hair has grown out more and now it looks half healthy and half damaged. What should I do? I just want my hair to curl up on the ends like I see yours. Thanks.
I use to wear my hair like that when i had a relaxer and i put those perm rods on the end it really works. I bought that carols daughter leave-in and it smells, great i also bought that curls whipped cream.
Thank you for the tip. I am new to the transition and still have perm on my ends. I find that when I do the two strand twist the ends still stick up so I will invest in the rollers for the ends until I am totally natural.
Please, pleasae, please do another hair video. Your hair is bomb! I've been natural for 3 1/2 years and was thinking about relaxing it in August. Luckily, I stumbled on this video and you totally inspired me to make my natural journey work. Thanks a bunch, you are my fave natural.
well i live in mississippi and never in a million years did i think anywhere here would carry the product roots, shockling I went into this store called beauty warehouse, which is just like any other beauty store, owned my chinese people and wa la there was the product..so I purchased like 3, so basically what i'm saying is check the local beauty store!
I just did a review on the Curls Whipped Cream (wasn't to thrilled with it). But, since I love CD's Healthy Hair Butter, I'm going to try mixing them together like you did and give it a try. I hate wasting product!
these fab sistah friends at frolabDOTcom tracked me down at Rock The Bells this weekend and i was more than happy to take a pic (no pun intended!) go to the frospotting section!!
thanks! silk scarf usually does the trick. if i want it to last longer, i need to twist it up everynight. but i get lazy sometimes so i end up loosing the curl after about 2 days.
LOL you misunderstood me i was just joking lol ImNotRacistImBias cuz your not sounded funny (no offence) i was not really calling you racist! (geez tuff crowd)
I had to research that hair texture/scale stuff cuz I didnt have a dog gone clue what my hurrr was. but after doing some research, I believe that on the LOIS scale im a "O/S". I think i may also be a 3C. I just know my hair needs ALOT of moisture. I did a wash and go this weekend. Left ALOT of the conditioner and applied a bit of Kinky-Curly and it turned out nice. my boyfriend even noticed the difference. it was really curly.
it depends on what you do in between. stuff like sleeping with a silk scarf, re-twisting before you go to bed, how long u keep the twist in all factor in. I kinda like it when its the second day into the style cuz its a lil messy. when day 4 rolls around i try to do something else. im too lazy to retwist and stuff at night, so that may make a difference.
Oh wow.. Thank you so much! I just cut off all my locks (had sister locks for 7 years)and wanted to keep my hair natural, or I wanted the whole big fro thing happening. I think its so pretty! Anywho, before I got my locks I wore a perm so I have no clue how to wear my hair natural without locks. Thank you so much. (side note) I have most of the stuff that you put in your hair already. SO I'M ON THE RIGHT TRACK! And I love the Black Vanilla leave in conditinor. Smells so good! Aganin Thx
My hair use to be like that, but now i cant get it bk that way. My hair has a mine of its own.lol Plus my hair is long, so it takes forever to brush and co.. it. But thank you for showing this video, i am going to try your way after i buy the products
Agh, I love your hair. I wish I could find more males talking about hair, since that would be a greater help. But you pretty much fill that empty void! Thanks so much for this.
no, i havent. i am although willing to try new stuff. I'll probably order/pick some up after i run out of the current stuff. i just wish they sold it in more stores.
can you cut my hair? I usually go for a low taper, but I'm willing to leave myself in your capable hands. Just make sure my waves is spinnin'. Good stuff Moxie!
I want to go natural but I have a relaxer and I don't want to cut my hair. I just want it to grow out the relaxer. Would would you consider? Your hair is beautiful. I want my hair to be that long.
you're gonna have to cut eventually unless you want to run around with two different textures in your head that's gonna be kind of difficult to comb. with regular trimming, you can wear transitional styles and get rid of the relaxed part over time
She's natural :) She was saying that if you are transitioning and you want to blend the two textures together, you can use the plastic sponge roller part to set the relaxed ends of the hair. Either way, I have seen some people transition successfully for 2 years or more without doing a big chop :) Some hair types can take it, some can't. I HAD to do the bc because I was too anxious to see my natural hair.
