Dang, I live with my mom who is 88 and can't chew hard stuff. But all these raw food recipes look so super yummy... Maybe I can do a steamed version... Thanks for the good video!
Hi Johny!!I love avocados too but ana wouldnt let me eat any fatty foods either!!!I am an ex obsessive candy eater cause i really got hooked on sugar...Anyway i just want to say you are fantastic and keep up the good work :) You are helping everyone with your recipes,art,vlogs......Take care!!!Pearl
wink, try it and find out... hehe no really - to be chard is slightly sweet with a great crunch. i love love love it in green smoothies. it all depends on what you are going for. choose your green to suit your needs and appetite. salty/spinach, crunchy/romain leaf or bok choy, slightly sweet/chard, spicy/asian or mustard greens, green tasting/collard, more mild or bland/leaf lettuce - red or green,
LOLOLOL*^^ i have the same spoon mine is a baby spoon teeheehee i like to eat from baby spoons and forks, tiny lil tea cup bowls and lil mini baby plates it makes me feal a lil more comfortable when i eat ya know?At least im eating and doing the best i can do to promote recovery for myself right?hehehe!!!
Oh my, ANYTHING you heart desires. Play around with ideas! cucumber? juilened carrots? sliced bell peppers? avocado and mango? tomato slices and basil? zucchini strips? baby bok choy? broccoli? mixed sprouts? all of the above? smile. Fill it like you would your favorite veggie sandwich/wrap. The possibilities are endless! veggies galore!
this looks so easy to make! Very yummy too. which is good because i have a toddler and a job and I need things to be done fast. i am going to try this over the weekend :)
Hi. I enjoy your videos. I'm thinking about eating raw too. Is it only fruits and veggies that are eaten? I'm in recovery from EDNOS. Thanks for all your wonderful vids!! <3 <3
Wonderful, no it is not just fruit and vegetables that would be imbalanced. A raw food diet should consist of balanced raw and live foods... fruit, vegetables, sprouts from vegetables, grains, seeds and legumes... raw nuts, raw seeds, super foods, etc.
No dipping for this one, pretty hearty themselves. These things are so universal, you can do just about anything with them!!! If you want to jazz something up a bit with a wrap - raw spring rolls are a good choice with a nice sauce like a raw sweet n sour... raw tahini also makes a good dip for wraps and such : )
I just got back from the store and I bought all of the ingredients (dirt cheap btw :) I also have some dipping sauce to go w/ them. I love your raw recipes vidoes (and isforbliss).
I made this today. Well, not exactly, but I used the same basic idea. I used swiss chard, avocado and sprouts, but then I used some red onion and tomato. It was INCREDIBLE. I've never had avocado before and it was definitely a delicious ingredient. :)
It looks wonderful, Johnny! I'm so happy that you found a suitable diet that will help you recover. You inspire all of us, and you should be really proud. I hope you know how fabulous you are. :D
P.S. You used brussel sprouts, not broccoli sprouts, but that's okay. We knew what you meant. :P
I used a whole wheat tortilla and wrapped a bunch of veggies, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and black olives, thank you for the inspiration Johnny,it was a delicious healthy treat!
Good for you! Something I love to make my mom consists of whole grain pita pocket, hummus spread, harvarti cheese and grilled eggplant and zucchini! You can also make wonderful pita pizzas with them for those eat enjoy cooked foods!
I love veggies on the grill and omg I really love hummus, yeah I do eat cooked foods and pita pizzas are a great idea, can't believe I've never done that,we're both italian btw lol,I'm gonna use the Paul Newman tomato sauce and some shredded mozzarella, yummy, thanks again, you're the best!
I very much liked the way that rawrap turned out. Not only is it nutritious but so attractive as well. As you know, I'll eat almost anything, but when it's presented so artistically prepared, it certainly turns me on a whole lot more. Good Job.
Hey Cool Video! I like the cooking theme (well raw cooking)...I hardly ever cook...but you know what...I just learned how to cut an avocado up from this video! LOL You're awesome Johnny...hope you enjoyed your yummy meal!
Thank you my dear. I honestly would go crazy-mad-depressed without my avocados. I need 1 every day and I really get off in joy by the fact that I eat the entire thing which is essentially 8 servings --- the size i buy would be about 4 though, sometimes I slurge an enjoy a large one though. In anorexia, I would avoid fats at all costs - even healthy ones which ana will not allow one to believe are healthy Education on healthy eating has really helped me kick anorexia as much as I have thus far.
ohh Nice! I took note of the ingred and plan to include it in my meal plan for this coming wk being I have some of the food already :) TY for sharing these clever dishes w/ us, it gives me something to look forward to. Is excellent to be able to use Fresh Produce from your own garden. Looks like your garden is doing good then, judging by that :) Take care
wow that looks really good. i loved those crunchy sprouts as a kid! i really wanted to order from the farm fresh to you people but they don't deliver to my area. :(
thank you, i am more of the simple raw foodist rather than the "throw 20 raw things together to make a dish". simplicity is key for me and best for my gi tract. as for cooked food, i have a history of knowing how to do that pretty well too and love to cook for people who don't do raw foods - like my Mom for example, she likes the raw stuff i make and also the cooked stuff i have made her and my exes too, lots of love there.
it looks very delicious. i can't wait to see what you next post. it makes me wish that i wasn't on the oppisite side of town from the organic and health food stores. it's hard to eat healthy when your surrounded by the stores that price the cookies and chips lower then then veggies and fruits.
I understand and things are a hell of a lot pricier which sucks because a lot of people miss out. However, there are ways to work around some things... For example: One who cooks/heats food - can get bulk bags of legumes, grains, etc for cheap and are good sources of whole grains. Local farmers markets are also a lot less expensive for produce, not sure where you are though.
i would do that only it's pretty hard to manage in tucson,az. especially when one has no car or job. the nearest place i can buy food is walmart or safeway and what they offer generally is very overpriced for what you get. it's rough being a fulltime student and finding a job so that i can help with the bills around the house. i'd cooks beans and such only the rest of my family aren't cooperative when it comes to trying to eat healthily. not to mention they love so much of the processed food.
Hard situation, would need lots of loops and turns to change things around if you can't buy your own food. The good thing is that once you can buy your own food you will have more choices, so keep focused on that if it's something you opt to change!
Dang, I live with my mom who is 88 and can't chew hard stuff. But all these raw food recipes look so super yummy... Maybe I can do a steamed version... Thanks for the good video!
