if a fire was blazing like that in ur face u wudnt be like omg lets jump in it he pod crew had to watch the fire right before the drive into it because it was infront of the start line putting out a jet car fire aint easy its like puttin out a plane fire
@Zakdogblue because obviously if u were placed in the same position you would have saved the day in 5 seconds right? try being in their shoes before u judge their performance
@lerroc I race there a lot, and expect a fire to be extinguished instantly. That was still blazing after 1 minute of the crew arriving, it hadn't been put out when the video ended.
Compare it to pit lane fuel fires, which are out in a second or two.
I pay for the use of the track and associated services and expect a professional reaction to an incident, this particular event did not reflect the usual standards of the Pod.
Its an old video so I assume things have been upgraded.
No Way I was Aty The Bottom Ove the hill such a scary time for tony the driver as i am a santa pod regular such a bad moment to see yet another fire force drop to the hevans of drag racing
Im also a pod regular, nice to see that the crew built a further two jet funny cars, to clyrenternal: fireforce 2 was the one featured on top gear, frying another car :) lol
@steveyonder I beg to differ. Fire one was rolling and after him before it had stopped. They jumped in while the car was on fire - that takes guts. Could you do it? The fire was so intense and the car was laden with aviation fuel. Do the math. Sorry to be blunt but those guys are life savers. At a different angle you can see the fire truck after him.
Scarey to watch it go past, but even scarier that it stopped right in front of there I was stood. It's only just now that I saw the detail of how it started; I saw it, but only from quite far off. It was really bad :S Is that the same car they had on Top Gear once?

Likes it how it takes ages for the track crew and frie engine to get to him. Love Santa Pod so much, definitely best place to be :)

That parachute didnt help at all, probebly cause a bigger fire all at once being a most probable flamable material
