  • great video.fantastico!!!. i feel your heavy, and big sphere but silence energy ki(気) in your kata.

  • Mr. Morrison, I apologize for the comments saying your kata was terrible, and then referring to Advincula Sensei as his source to say such a comment. Sensei would never say that. He may say it's different from what Shimabuku taught, or how you could improve something in a certain way, but he would never condone someone saying another person's kata is terrible. Many claim to be affiliated with Advincula Sensei, but his real students, or students of, would never say this. So pay no attention.

  • Nice sharp and solid preformance... It would look better in full uniform but otherwise a form well done... I think the different linages are interesting because each one is different and has subtle as well as more pronounced differences... Just because something is different does not nessicarily make it bad, its what makes the different styles of Martial Arts facinating because each one is unique and some decend from others like Taekwondo decended from Tangsoodo...

  • Master Shimabuku cals Sensei Advincula katagwa it means kata man, He was a student of Shimabuku for almost 17 years. And there was now one who traint that long time as Sensei Advincula. Most of the mariniers at that time was training for 12 or 12 month and thats to short to learn the katas well. So i mean that we know for sure how we do the katas, because Sensei Advincula teachst my Sensei v/d Vijver.

Sorry again i did't unrespect full.

    Hai

  • @Isshinryuboy1 I understand. I was curious how you do it differently. There are dozens of lineages from the original form & they all claim to be the original. There are a lot of differences between them all. My instructors learned from Angi Uezu. Take that for what it's worth. Historically we're equally close to Shimabuku. It doesn't bother me but I'm going to take the liberty of suggesting that you don't say something is "terrible" unless you're willing to show how and demonstrate.

  • @Isshinryuboy1

Personally, I never liked "name droppers".

    1) you start out by saying this man's Kusanku is "terrible"

    2) THEN, you post 2 times that you are "sorry". However, you imply that since your Sensei was a student of Sensei Advincula, that you are somehow qualified to critique Isshinryu kata as "good" or "bad".

    3) Sadly, you include no video of yourself so we can all see the "correct" way to do the Kata.

  • Haisai,

Wow what a comments on what i say. We dont put videos on youtube but theres a reasen for it. But I dont mean it onrespect full not at all.Sorry for that I think i used the wrong words. My Sensei doing Isshinryu for almost 27 years. Hes Master was Steven Armsrong Harry G Smits and A.J Advincula. But Sensei Advincula teacht him how the real Isshinryu katas goes. because Sensei Advincula was the first genaration of Isshinryu also Sensei Steven Armstrong.

  • Haisai,

I am doin Isshinryu for amlost 19 years and i can tell you the way you walk the Kusanku is teribble.

    Kohai Albert

  • @Isshinryuboy1 Then why don't you come out from behind the keyboard and show us how it's done?

  • Bio Please? Where you train, years in, rank and lineage, etc.

    Thanks in advance.
