  • Good observations here concerning the flamenco influence on this classic song .

  • Thank you so much for this great lesson. I'd love to see you playing this masterpiece on stage, the alchemy way, with the quiet moment @ roughly 6:00, before the storm. I love this song.

  • non ci incastra niente con mark questa roba.

  • non c'entra niente con mark questa roba.

  • Wow im spanish and im a fan of Knopfler however Im dont know too much about flamenco style. I have just watched this video and i felt like " damn i got this incredible techniques just in front of my face for all this time..". It seems that the fusion of different styles/cultures allways brings nice stuff :D

  • Dude. You have completely changed the way I view fingerstyle electric guitar.

Are there any particular exercises you can recommend for helping one build up a decent rasgueado? Also, are nails an issue? I know that some flamenco guitarists have long fingernails, are they necessary for this particular technique?

  • what about the pickups??

    nice video!

Maybe you can help me.. Im looking for a strat pickup with a very soft and creamy sound, wrongly I bought Texas Special wit appears to me the extreme oposite specially when loaded in a strat with maple fretboard and ash body.

What do you recomend? fender 54, fender 69 or dimarzio area?

  • Ingo..

This one keeps me busy now..

I am happy you share that rhythm technik to us.

Have a lot of thx and greetz from germany...

  • Just the right stuff i needed to resume playing guitar! Thanks Man

  • Thank you very much!

  • Thank you Ingo! Especially for that part between 03:00 and 04:00, I've always wondered how you do that. Thanks!!

  • Excellent stuff Ingoand thanks once again. Your philanthropic attitude to teaching this style and you technical ability is worthy of high praise ;-)

  • Grandios, Ingo!

    ;-)

  • you have a great playing style

  • It is not all original (e.g. the pickguard is not) so it is not a collector piece anyway. It was refinisihed with thick poly some time ago but sounded much better after stripping the poly finish. I got used to the wood look, I think you can refinish it any time, no hurry.

  • The rhythm figure is SO HELPFUL. Thank you so much for explaining that... I've seen you doing it in other videos and have been dieing to find out how you pull it off.

  • its too much theory to play MK style! but usefull

  • too much theory? What do you mean?

  • @ArthurBrendler Its not too much man. This video is the great way for sultans of swing

  • what kind of fender is that?

  • '62 Vintage Strat

  • Thank you Ingo, excellent tuition. hope you dont mind if I add you as a friend.

  • Nice lesson. thank you.

  • Thanks man! I was always wondering knopfler got that watery rhythm and now i get to see it closeup

    thanks a bunch!

  • Thank You Ingo! Very Great!

  • Very good teacher
