  • "What is this, some kind of game?'

  • its funny cause this was filmed in uttoxeter where i live and its quite busy;)

  • 1:54 Where's his head going!? lolol

  • Hugh Laurie at 1:55 Excellent!!! :D

  • @dodger555 XD He just about beaned his own head on the table with that remarkable gesture!

  • damn damn double damn and another helping of damn, daaaaaaamn !

  • @JohnMYX You're mistaken - nobody uses the word "ass" in this video (I believe you are referring to the use of the word "arse")

  • No one says the word 'ass' better than the British.

  • @JohnMYX It's because we say "arse" :)

  • Maybe it's time I moved on and just blubblubbbbbbppp.

10 bucks says that scotch is apple juice. :D

  • When this was on we just thought they were taking the piss out of a tiny minority of quite ridiculous overblown scumbags. Now we know these characters pretty much describe a fair chunk of the population. I wonder if they knew what lay around the corner for Britain? I think if they did they would have both fucked off abroad and a lot sooner.

  • You're just going to lie down and, and, walk away?!

  • i want to lick stephen xD

  • 3:09

  • 3:56

  • Isnt this eerily similar to that priest one?

  • @Blasted2Oblivion It's the same characters, but the priest one is later in their career after their health club gets taken over by Marjory

  • That's a lot of whiskey.

  • 9 people are acting like DAAAMN AMATEURRRRRS!

  • A Sitcom with John and Peter is a great excuse for Stephen and Hugh to do something together again

  • DAMN, double DAMN, and an extra pint of DAMN for the weekend!!

  • SAME GAME JOHN....different RRUURRLSZ

  • Tony and Control - Peter and John

  • 'Don't har-assle me peter!' I saw this sketch ages ago when I was knee high to a bag of crisps and I still use that word if I find my self in a stressful situation involving someone else. I don't often verbalise it but I do mentally partake of a side of damn double damn and an extra plate of damn for afters. Gotta love Fry and Laurie. Comic gold!

  • 9 people that Marjorie has gotten to, DAMN her!

  • Fry desperately holds onto his composure 2:35-2:43 when Hugh's shouting in his face!

  • Comment removed

  • The great thing about Fry and Laurie is that they can take ordinary words and do extraordinary things with them. No one else has ever made me laugh as much at the word "damn" as these two men.

  • I could never 'lie down and walk away' from these great men!

  • My fave sketch by these two I think, couldn't stop laughing all the way through! Especially the bit about the car park lol

  • @pokerjack4356 I bet I know who one of those dislikes was: Marjorie!

  • 3:08 -- Best line in the whole sketch... but the whole thing is funny!!

  • You can see the boom mic in the reflection of the picture frame's glass at 3:33.

  • "Don't harrassle me." That's an awesome word. xD

    2:44

  • well wherever the blue rinsed hell she is! Watch Stephen Fry trying not to laugh when hugh Laurie confronts him up close, little things like that just make it even more endearing. Completely love whatever these two do.

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMNNNN!!!!

  • Don't harassle me!

  • FOUR YEARS HA..GA..BA..DA..BA

  • these guys are funny!

  • Don't harassle me!

  • "We pulled it down when we built the car park."

Well thanks, I spat yoghurt all over my homework.

  • @Idnarmadur That's what they call it nowadays huh? Yoghurt? ;)

  • one word... damn

  • What accent are they doing in this sketch? They've done so many it's hard to keep track!

  • @Drroxxette American, I think

  • @kklji i dont think american because... i dosnt sound that much like it

  • @sabrinamatis i think they are by the loudness.

  • @hovis1962 lol true......

  • @Drroxxette It's either a really bad American accent, or just their normal voices BUT REALLY LOUDLY WITH INTERESTING CHOICE OF EMPHASIS.

  • @Spazzbert typical americans.

  • "Are you just going lie down and walk away"

Oh Christ that is so fucking funny DAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMNN!!

  • "As a wife, or as a business partner?"

    "Is there a difference?"

    "I hope so Jhon..."

  • i wish they would come back for another series, would be extremely popular considering the lack of current comedy that is based around sketches

  • Peeeeederrr!!!

  • "Tell me what you see."

    "A car park."

"Well that's funny, John, because the last time you looked out of that window you saw an idea. Do you remember?"

"Yes, I thought that would be a good place to put a car park."

  • Same game, Different rules.

  • Has anyone else noticed how much whiskey they're drinking? DAMN!

  • no more than a bad joke and not even a very good one?

  • Hugh sounds just like Jeremy Irons in Die Hard: With A Vengeance when he says John.

  • @pippynip very true.

  • "harassle" to hassle AND harass at the same time! loving it. using it.

  • facebook honour this in the facebook group derwententerprises healthclub with peter and john

  • 3:08 to 3:11

maybe it's time I moved on and just *gurglegurgle...*

    Hi-FREAKIN'-larious!

  • "Same game John... different rules" Lol

  • Glad to see hugh laurie's american accent has improved somewhat!

  • This was great. I don't think anyone could have played up this stereotype to its greatness further than they did.

  • "You're just going to lie down and walk away?!"

    lmao

  • Damn those wet arsed college kids!!

  • I'd love to see them make a real show out of this! But i fear that would take out the hilarious randomness that makes these sketches so frigging good... who cares, i'd watch it anyway :-)

  • 3:09 Maybe it's time I moved on and just blbbbgblb!

  • Does anyone actually remember the type of show they were satirising? Those incredibly serious dramas revolving around small businesses where menial jobs were treated like life and death situations.

  • Comment removed

  • @PurushaDesa a 70's show called The Brothers would fit

  • @PurushaDesa I'm pretty sure it's baseds on howards way.

  • @londontrada Yes, The Brothers, Howards Way and all those 70s and 80s Sunday evening shows produced by Gerard Glaister, father of Gabrielle who worked with F & L in Blackadder.

  • Dammit four times around the parking lot and back in again for another 'dammit!'

  • @mph419 I think it was round the caah paahk they said. Love it though.

  • But damnit Marjorie was goood Peterr!

  • the diabolical marjorie

  • "what happened to the OLD JOHN?!?" "we pulled it down when we put in the car park D:"

    puns <33

  • "our marrige was nothing but a bad joke and not even a very good one" bwhaha

  • DAMN!!!

  • I love that its not one guy carrying the other, they are just both THAT brilliant :) DAAAMMNNN!!! :D

  • Damn those wet-arsed college kids.

  • DAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMN!!

  • DAMMIT PETER.

  • I don't think John and Peter would have worked as a series, but I do wish that Fry and Laurie had made a few more sketches as these two. The gag ratio in all of them is astonishingly high.

  • All their sketches are so JOYFUL, especially in the earlier seasons :) There's not much of that about, at the moment.

  • "Maybe it's time I moved on and just *bubble bubble*"

  • Don't harrassle me Pe-d-er! Roflmao!

  • I imagine YouTube couldn't stand Stephen's greatness at 0:30

  • "she licked me good and proper and..i've got that feeling again and it's sore peterrrr" lol

  • felt physically sick when hugh was on the actors studio & failed actor James Lipton didn't even mention Fry and Laurie, Damn Yanks wouldn't know comedy if it farted in their face DAMNNNNNNN!!!!!

  • " and you're just gonna ... just gonna lie down and walk away? "

  • " maybe its time I moved on and jusht blubbibbibbbubb ".

I used to love these 2 characters, someone please post the other sketches with John and Peter.

  • "If Marjory should call... tell her I'm BUSY!

    DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMn"

  • " Peter don't - Don't HARASSLE me I'm tired! "

  • "And now you're just gonna...lie down, and walk away?"

  • "Same game, John. Different rules."

Oh my god, that's amazing. It's like two trailer voice guys having a fight.

  • Incredible! Wonderful!

  • Dammit 4 times around the car park and back in for another dammit.

  • One of the best lines ever!

  • "Had? Had what? A marriage that was no more than a bad joke and not even a very good one."

  • DAMN they are such geniuses.

  • Lmao! At 1:55 lol the head turn is sooooo funny!

    same with everything eles,

damn dubble damn with with a extra bite of damn for the weekend!

    lmao!

if marjery calls, thell her im bissy---daaaaaaamn!

every one how thinks hugh is awesome say aye...

    aye!

  • I was acting like a DAAMN AMATEEEEUR!

I say that whenever I make a mistake now! It confuses some people!

  • Hugh Laurie is why I watched House.

And this is why I followed Hugh Laurie in everything he did.

  • "I was acting like an amateur"

    Genius.

  • the best one was the one in the lavatory

  • Their hair is AMAZING.

  • strangely enough I used to work in Uttoxeter

And the John WAS on a car park...(true)

  • Is this a game?

No game, just look out of the window!

    I see a carpark.

Yes, and do you remember what you saw the last time you looked out of that window?! You saw an IDEA!!

...I had the idea of putting a car park there.

  • Laurie sounds like Jeremy Irons in this skit.

  • They never have failed to make me laugh :)))

  • Hugh's hairdo is EPIC

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!!! hahahahaha

  • what was the sketch before this?

  • The best part is at 3:12 - 3:13

  • HAHA! I adore those two! They just drink whiskey and talk about ..... there isn`t even a word for it! XD Love Hugh! <3

  • I can never watch House without thinking of this sketch.

    Poor old Hugh.

  • OH, TIRED BE DAMNED!

  • A line frequently missed in this scene

"Are you just gonna lie down and walk away?!"

    GENIUS!

  • Probably my favorite line. Especially the look on Laurie's face and the hand gestures as he says it.

    Classic!

  • Any idea what kind of accents they're trying for here? Sometimes, I thought it was American (the attitude and phrasing were certainly that stupid "go for it"-style American business talk). Other times, mildly Australian. But it was probably some sort of British that I'm not familiar with.

  • Laurie plays an American in House doesn't he?

  • Er, they're not doing american accents... They're doing those kind of tough businessman mid-atlantic 80's accents you'd hear in programmes like Howards Way . They're doing it very well too! Jeremy Clarkson is a modern purveyor of said style...

  • Maybe it's time I moved on and just fablblblbl...

  • I nearly fell out of my chair at that one!

  • my favorite part of the whole scene! haha

  • Same game, John! Different RUUULZSZ!

  • if marjorie should call, Tell Her Im Busy!

    DAAAAAAMNNNNN

  • Damn it 4 times around the car park and back in for another DAMN IT!

  • Man I love that line!

  • It certainly made think of the town of Uttoxeter as a whisky swilling health club kinda town

  • Is it me or does Hugh Laurie use the same voice for Peter as he does for house?

  • I wouldn't be very surprised.

  • Nothing like it!

  • Nah, he sounds like Hugh Laurie as a cursing, drunken lout.

  • Don't harrassle me! Hilarious

  • DAMN, DOUBLE DAMN WITH AN EXTRA PINT OF DAMN FOR THE WEEKEND! :~)

I remember watching A Bit of Fry and Laurie when it was first out, when I was 11 or so. Loved it then and I love it now! Hugh and Stephen were my first comedy loves! Still 2 of the best in the business after all these years.

  • oh my god, how can they not laugh at each other!? Id be shitting my pants with laughter in that scene. But, I guess thats what seperates the amatuers from the big kahunas. They are masters of their art!

  • The old John? We pulled it down when we built the car park!

  • It's great when he says "motherfucker" Hehehee.

  • heard him say fuck up in an interview today too

  • This sketch is brilliant! Which came first, this one or the one with the religeous types ("Fry Laurie --- Damn it." in the Related Videos)?

But it's just... so funny! And Stephen trying not to laugh at 2:35. XD

  • absolutely brilliant

  • i love the face hugh makes when he says "YOU'RE JUST GONNA LIE DOWN AND WALK AWAY?" at 2:43

    i love this sketch <3

  • yeah, reminds me of when he played george in blackadder goes forth!

  • hahahahahhahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

these two are amazing!!! the most talented duo ever!

  • Same game John. Different RUUUUULZS.

  • Theyre both fantastic actors! I love this show

  • lol, I LOVE the ending! hehe! "DDDDDDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNN!!!!!!"

  • I always crack up when he keeps talking while he's drinking.

"Maybe it's time I moved on and just- -hubblebubble-"

  • Had what? A marriage that was nothing more than a bad joke, and not a very good one?
