Ok. I have an issue. Freecorder is recording my program in sections. So instead of 1 continuous program my program is coming across in segments that range from 17 kb to almost 13 mb. I went into the settings area (the wrench icon) and upped my video capture settings to 192222 - some random number larger than 500 mb. No difference was mad. Do you have any suggestions for me, or how to get all these pieces and parts to assemble into one whole file? Thanks
@EvansProductions4 What browser are you using? And did you try restarting your browser? If firefox make sure that you are updating the add ons. Let me know if that helps.
I just got the recent update. Did the Record Audio recording tool change drastically? Because I just checked today and the design looks drastically different and too complex.

When I click on the audio record button a window never pops up and yes I double checked setting to make sure that option was clicked on. And I have pop ups enabled please help when free. :<
@grinningfox Please be sure to start the audio recorder before browsing to and playing the audio that you’d like it to record. The audio recorder needs to be started first. If you’re using Windows Vista, be sure to enable the Windows Vista Audio driver in Freecorder’s audio capture settings.

You can reach them by going to the applian technologies website and clicking on the support tab and then following the links to freecorder. they will help you get everything up and running again in no time.

@Hillybillytomahawk Freecorder 5 will convert audio and video files downloaded by Freecorder 5. If you are trying to convert a video that was downloaded by another program it won't be able to. We are just days away from releasing Freecorder 6 which will allow you to add files from your PC to the converter - stay tuned for that.

@pumperking Yes it does. Freecorder will work in Firefox 8. Please make sure that you clear your browsers cache. Also, in Firefox, go to add ons and make sure Freecorder is enabled. Hope that helps.
cool i got it, i had it for a wile! but i am having problems with it, so i wanted to ask you! does the toolbar you got uninstall it self often? because mine does, and now i cant un-install the program.. to install it again, i lost the tool bar and without it i doubt i can record any videos.

@Bodybypt Alas - no. BUT we do make a Mac product that will download and convert Youtube videos for FREE in demo mode - it's called Jaksta for Mac. You can just download the demo and use it that way - don't need to pay. Hope that helps. And no such thing as a "rookie question" :)
@Residew I'm not lying. The program installed an adware called "PriceGong" on my system after I downloaded it. It kept giving me stupid suggestions of unrelated crap whenever I searched for certain brand names on any search engine. Also, it took me like two hours to uninstall it.
I honestly think it's sad that a program that works so flawlessly as this one has spyware attached. Applian could make a fortune if they just took the ads off and charged like 2 bucks for installation.

I used this program to make a weekly video version of the Billboard Country chart. But I got to the point where I couldnt convert the flv videos to avi videos. Which was a big problem. I had to quit making my videos because of this :-/

Ok well my convert tool works fine, but once I have saved and converted a video it loads into where I want it, but not the whole file just the first 3-4 seconds or so :/ Please help!
All of a sudden my Downloader is having some problems capturing videos. And my converter has pretty much stopped working altogether.. It will start the conversions and then two seconds later it will say "finished converting" when it didn't do anything at all...

@Bayliss95 Hi, thanks for your comment. We've heard of a couple recent cases where people are experiencing issues with the convert tool, so we are looking into it.
@6double1agent6 Do you see the Convert button? Once you click it, a window appears with a list of your recorded files. Click the check box next to each file you want to convert.
@ApplianTechnologies The files don't show up there. I think it has to do with the same problem that causes the "reinstall toolbar error." But I've done that and made an exception in my firewall though I still get the error.
Except, when I downloaded Freecorder 4, it no longer works - I hit the history icon and get the error message "The FreeCorder FLV Service is not running. Please re-install the Freecorder Toolbar". (I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling -- to no avail).
@Worried57 If you've re-installed and you still get this error, it is likely due to security software on your computer that is blocking the FLVSrvce from starting. The Freecorder Toolbar is safe and virus free, so it is safe to have your security software allow access to FLVSrvce.exe.
Okay, I love this program - I downloaded it on my computer and it worked perfectly - I was able to download videos, etc... then I got a bug in my boot driver, and one day when I restarted my computer, it wouldn't boot up. Long story short, I had to completely re-install my XP operating system. I have been going back, downloading some of my favorite programs/installing updates/getting my computer back to how it was before the s%#$ hit the fan...
I've just installed Firefox 5 so that i could use this, but it doesnt seem to work! The Freecorder toolbar doesnt appear in the browser:( does it not work with firefox 5???

For some reason since yesterday the convert tool on the toolbar doesn't work anymore tried to convert several times to wmv and it acts like its going to do it but it finishes within 2 seconds then it says its done so I check the converted folder nothing is there with the file name I gave it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it no luck this used to be a great program
Everytime I install this it worked. But know, why doesn't the freecorder toolbar show up? it's just blank in my toolbar. If there is a solution to my problem that would be really helpfull.

@DragonFilmsSeattle It's only for Windows, but you might want to check out Parallels--have you heard of it? All Applian recording products work in Windows on a Mac.
@ApplianTechnologies Yes I have heard of it however the problem is that it want me to spend a lot of money just to be able to convert simple videos I want and or need. @strawbongwae Some security software is understandably responsible for blocking any file that can read or save your browsing history. In this case, FLVSrvce.exe is a file used by Freecorder that allows the video history tool to save videos you’ve played from your computer’s cache. Some antivirus software tries to stop it, but it's safe to allow access.
@thanatonaute24 Ah, do you have security software? It's likely trying to block a certain (non-malicious) file. Check out the Freecorder 4 site, FAQ section.
Problem is it cuts off too early when someone talks, and sound files end up with half a word unpronounced, there should be a setting to continuously record.
Well it works... kind of. It crashes several programs before the damn thing even starts up. Programs include Windows Explorer, Google Desktop, and even the taskbar disappeared on one occasion. Very unstable software.
can i record parts of videos with freecorder? or only the whole video? (f.e i dont want to record a whole 5minute youtube video, i only want 30seconds from it, can i do that?)
The software works great with no viruses but the problems i have is that when i open a video from a site its downloading the same file double or triple times when i check in the video history box and im not able to cancel the duplicate files. if u can see in this video that slumdog millionarire is downloading triple times so the download speed reduces and also internet bill soares up because instead of downloading one 40mb file(for example) it downloads 3 same files for 120 mb
yeah and if you download this your computer will be infected with shopperreports which will infect it with the most anoying pop ups in the world ever, and you will want to take a light weight ball peen hammer and smash it the best you can. then move up to a larger hammer such as a 3.5lb club for any bits missed. after that a base ball bat and finally petrol and a match followed by a beer and a b&h gold.
When I click on the little "file" icon on the toolbar that let's me see what I've recorded, I get an error message saying that the location is unavailable.
I can't watch youtube video's (they won't load), my pages take ages to load, .. and it all started from when I downlaoded this f*cked up toolbar sh*t!!!
@mrg3org3 yeh, trough this toolbar a hacker got onto my internetports, he uploaded my frequency from my computer to his computer, so my download limit was full and he could download more...

@p3r0uE Please make sure the toolbar is enabled in the browsers add ons. Clear your browsers cache. If you still don't see the toolbar,
make sure that you have administrative rights and that you disable any anti virus software you are running while installing Freecorder.

Okay, I love this program - I downloaded it on my computer and it worked perfectly - I was able to download videos, etc... then I got a bug in my boot driver, and one day when I restarted my computer, it wouldn't boot up. Long story short, I had to completely re-install my XP operating system. I have been going back, downloading some of my favorite programs/installing updates/getting my computer back to how it was before the s%#$ hit the fan...

I've just installed Firefox 5 so that i could use this, but it doesnt seem to work! The Freecorder toolbar doesnt appear in the browser:( does it not work with firefox 5???

For some reason since yesterday the convert tool on the toolbar doesn't work anymore tried to convert several times to wmv and it acts like its going to do it but it finishes within 2 seconds then it says its done so I check the converted folder nothing is there with the file name I gave it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it no luck this used to be a great program

Everytime I install this it worked. But know, why doesn't the freecorder toolbar show up? it's just blank in my toolbar. If there is a solution to my problem that would be really helpfull.

Curious is their another download for mac? Or is it only for windows ? I love the software and does an excellent job in ripping the files I want without any hassle in youtube or any other website with a video content within it. If not then could you please tell one format I could use please

@strawbongwae Some security software is understandably responsible for blocking any file that can read or save your browsing history. In this case, FLVSrvce.exe is a file used by Freecorder that allows the video history tool to save videos you’ve played from your computer’s cache. Some antivirus software tries to stop it, but it's safe to allow access.

Problem is it cuts off too early when someone talks, and sound files end up with half a word unpronounced, there should be a setting to continuously record.

Well it works... kind of. It crashes several programs before the damn thing even starts up. Programs include Windows Explorer, Google Desktop, and even the taskbar disappeared on one occasion. Very unstable software.

The software works great with no viruses but the problems i have is that when i open a video from a site its downloading the same file double or triple times when i check in the video history box and im not able to cancel the duplicate files. if u can see in this video that slumdog millionarire is downloading triple times so the download speed reduces and also internet bill soares up because instead of downloading one 40mb file(for example) it downloads 3 same files for 120 mb

yeah and if you download this your computer will be infected with shopperreports which will infect it with the most anoying pop ups in the world ever, and you will want to take a light weight ball peen hammer and smash it the best you can. then move up to a larger hammer such as a 3.5lb club for any bits missed. after that a base ball bat and finally petrol and a match followed by a beer and a b&h gold.

If you have a Spyware/Addware problem after downloading this.
Disable the Web browser Add-on: "Conduit" or "PCCBHO.CPCCBHO" in Internet Explorer.
this should stop the Pop ups from appearing.
