Ok, its pleasing to look at. But taking some grandiose meaning from it is just stupid. Its the kind of thing that the art world is full of - snobbery. Throwing together a painting in less than ten minutes can't have given that artist any joy or pride. Giving it some high falutin concept is a cynical exercise in raising the price of the picture...
So many haters out there! Notice how the only people being critical are the ones who probably spent way too much money on college and then an art grad program. I thought art was in the eyes of the beholder? If someone can connect to a piece of art, who are you to tell that person that it's not? The definition of technique: is a procedure used to accomplish a specific activity or task. If smearing paint on a canvas with her hands is her technique...then it's her technique. Stop hating!
@KeeganRiotto If you take a look at today's art or the art from the 1950's to now so much money is spent on work like this, other than work that takes a lot of time and effort for someone to do such as a nice realistic paintings. And about art school, you can't make art if you don't know anything about it. Even abstract artist like Picasso had a method of meaning to what he did, and you learn that In ART SCHOOL.
@KeeganRiotto You cannot be more correct. I am new to the art world, only 1 year but I have found that "artists" are the most pompous, haters around. I am a 4th year medical student living in Manhattan. Never took a single art class but just had my first solo exhibition last week, now that really upset all the art majors and struggling artists.
its not necessary that every people likes modern -contempory art, person who loves art, they of course like this art too, myself,im not professional artist, but i love modern, contemporary art than others.i like this art, really awesome.
I think we need to be a little bit more constructive with our comments here. I do not think that this is art. Abstract art in my opinion needs to have an objective as I think all art do. Technique is what you need in the piece itself. take time to learn a technique, and learn what art truly is. Art is about connecting to oneself to others. The more oneself is familiar with art then that persons art will show that of them.
@Z4N4RD1N3 Agreed. Just another talentless Pollock wannabe throwing paint on a canvas and thinking that their random piece of trash possesses some kind of 'deeper meaning' This modern hipster crap art needs to end.
1) Look like you are definitely aware of what you are doing
2) Create something that can be as flexible as possible so that you can add explanations like "tranquil excursion from subconscious to the state of conscientiousness without being comprehensible and rational bla bla"
3) Ignore people who criticize
4) It's always better to have art education before so that you can tell people that you wanted to go beyond the limits
Abstract Art has become the art form of the untalented, only appreciated by those who believed in the 'emperor's new clothes'. Skill is replaced by ecentricity and passion is replaced by pretentiousness. Its growing popularity only goes further in proving how backward the human race is going.
@RedRebel8 Although I could add that, it's growing popularity as you put it, proves that we have what they say "dictatorship of the many". Skilless/talentless people are farmore than skilful/talented people so they have created this safe net where all the unworthy "artists" praise each other and attack the few good ones when they try to rise their voice against it. These "artists" are just people who want to be famous and important and they chose art because it's the easiest way today.
i love it ! it was inspiring watching you. once my space is set up, i want to be able to do something like you do as I feel my mind works that way when it comes to art. realism seems to confine me and thus is not really for me. interpretive work and abstract are perhaps best for me... thank you so much for sharing!!!
i wish i were her-- in that very instance of creation, feeling the very feelings that no one but her, the artist, can feel, the very instance when the art and the artist become one and indivisible.
Fabulous, you inspire me! Right now, I would like to use an hand method only to experiment with coz I only knew to use with brushes, never with hand before
Im sorry, but i have to completely disagree with this "art form". From my perspective this is absolutely garbage, to think that you can create "art" in minutes. Apparently adding lines and colors that have no relation what so ever creates art? When it takes me endless hours to create a painting(which i enjoy and love). But this is the reason why i did not major or study art any longer. People like this with no respect what so ever for art principles. Ha...this video is so wrong man, hollys**t
@richy12377 I hate to do this, but to answer your question; i went to West Leyden H.S. you can go and see what i donated to them, or you can go to flashpoint academy downtown chicago and see what i've done for them. This Contemporary art?- wow.
@Ronnieg10UFC I hate to do this. I did not go to art school, I went to medical school. I started painting 1 year ago. I live in Manhattan and just had my first solo art exhibition with 26 pieces.
@AstronomyGuru1 In today's art world, anything can be accepted as art. A man can frame his skidmarked underwear and get his own exhibit. Because of this, a lot of garbage has been accepted into the art community. Abstract painting is garbage. I want you to send me videos, links and pics to change my mind.
@StudzMcSexy I can see your point; any asshole with some paint can make abstract art, and thats because their is no real artistic skill being brought to the table most of the time. Now some abstract artists paint and you can really see the depth and talent in thier work. To be honest real live portraits, landscapes, etc are much harder to do, but they are tacky and are not a desirable piece on someone's modern home.
@AstronomyGuru1 No such thing as simple realism. Creating the illusion of realism is the most difficult thing an artist can do. Where as, any retard can slap some paint on a canvas and call it a deep meaningful masterpiece....How is that equal? Abstract art lovers seem to think that their mind is in some kind of advanced state because they appreciate abstract art, when in fact they sound like morons when they say "The colors are awesome!" "I think i see a cow right there!".
Most abstract art is impossible to reproduce and not rewarding enough to even attempt. Realism and abstract art can NEVER be treated as equal just for the simple FACT that ANYONE can create abstract art. When I say anyone, I mean ANYONE!! How many drug addicts love painting abstract garbage?? The elderly can paint abstract, so can toddlers with limited motor skills, anyone can do it. I absolutely HATE the image that abstract art gives the industry as a whole.Hope its a fad
I love how the artwork goes from a softer lighter tone to a much more serious tone lower down. The use of yellow was brilliant and it would have not been the same without it. Great job, I truly experienced a mixed of emotions throughout the whole work.
Abstract, as long as you conveyed the essence of something such as space, it works. But if you left an area feeling flat then you have ruined it. lol. Representational art is nice but may be a bitt confined depending on your point of view. I, personally, do all genres of work and have spent over 100 hours on a still life painting with a pyramid composition and all but yet my strongest piece of work is considered to be an abstract painting i took 12 hours on. hmmmmnnn. hahaha...
Abstract is for the untalented. It's a shame that the video poster wasted such a nice looking canvas on garbage art. There are 4 year old abstract painters...4 YEARS OLD!!! Find me a 4 year old realist and i'll start to treat abstract art as equal. If you can't paint what you see, you become an abstract painter, its a cover for artistic weakness.
@StudzMcSexy: Speak for yourself! I can paint realism and abstract, and everything inbetween. It's called talent. Something you obviously lack. Not to mention you poor sense of judgement. It's a shame that you had to waste your time writing such a comment.
The only art I really enjoy doing is abstract painting. Each painting is unique. Realism is stressful and in the end produces a picture like a million others in the world.
@artistdalehammond this is because you don't understand realism in painting or drawing. Realistic art is not copying nature, but understanding the science of seeing and constructing nature using the knowledge of anatomy, light, and perspective. Realist art can be created in infinite styles because artist can interpret light, proportions and anatomy. After that, artists can advance to cartooning, which is an exaggeration or "abstraction" of real or imagined objects.
this is BEAUTIFUL! all the people talking smack, you have nothing better to do but try and put people down when all they are doing is sharing what they love to do with the world. it doesn't matter if you don't think it's artistic, it's a hobby, a passion and a love. so fuck off- art is art, there is no definition. this is wonderfully brilliant!!!!
@clarkecass2011 Yes i agree, i feel if it makes you feel good that is what counts, art has changed my life drastically, to a depressed dragged down person, now that i paint im feeling good all the time, and i have my paints, brushes, knives and canvas to thank for.

You do know, knowledge of a language shows no sign of intelligence... Knowledge of a language simply shows your ability to memorize certain facts, which is what major educational establishments and mainstream government throw money at then anything else... True intelligence is Creativity, Critical Thinking, Logic, etc. So, technically, EVERY piece of art is a measure of intelligence, we all have different views, but try to understand the viewpoint of another rather then becoming confrontational.
@JusticeXavierH Your last phrase is amazing, considering how you wrote your last two comments! I never meant, and you would have understood that if you were not so excited, that someone actually went to you and gave you a list of paintings you should like and dislike. The conditioning was done gradually through the media, the schools and the "experts" in the museums. I explained it all in my "Art" video, but I suspect you wouldn't understand a third of it.Did you go through the US school system?
@JusticeXavierH No one told you? Have just arrived from outer space and so have not been subjected to the system's propaganda. No one ever told you that modern art is as worthy as classical, in school or on the media?
The very advanced visual culture that was achieved in middle age Europe (and Asia) had to be destroyed. The group who took over pictorial art as well as music in the early to mid-20th century, redefined those two arts for very clear political purposes. As a result, Art in the 21st century has no meaning whatsoever. It’s WHO promotes it, WHO sells it, WHO markets it, WHO appoints the "experts" that tells us what Beauty is. I expose that in my "Art" video.
Wow! That is stunning! Looked like you were having so much fun. I'd love to know more about this process. What are you thinking and feeling when you are doing this? Does the subconscious take over? How long have you been painting? Really, really cool...just beautiful!!
Awesome choice of colors, movement, composition! Not sure if you're using oil or acrylic ~ just remember they're hazardous to health (esp. oils) like you don't know...lol since I can understand using gloves would probably remove part of the "connection" between you and that living moment.

VoiceofSelf 1 year ago 29
@VoiceofSelf Actually, knowledge of a language does show intelligence, it's called linguistic intelligence and it's one of nine intelligence types.

@VoiceofSelf Damn! Spit that knowledge!

I explained it all in my "Art" video, but I suspect you wouldn't understand a third of it.Did you go through the US school system?
thegreatfearblog 1 year ago

SO NICE!
Awesome choice of colors, movement, composition! Not sure if you're using oil or acrylic ~ just remember they're hazardous to health (esp. oils) like you don't know...lol since I can understand using gloves would probably remove part of the "connection" between you and that living moment.
Can't wait to see more! Thank you.
U go VERA!
