  • my idol, absolutaly

  • Definitely a different David Gilmour, but nice to hear him play Les Paul. Sounds more bluesy for sure.

  • Les Paul, P90's and a Bigsby too? Different for Dave.

  • @echosyst actually this is the very guitar he used to record the solo for "Another Brick In The Wall". A Goldtop Gibson Les Paul with P-90s and a Bigsby tremolo.

  • The best

  • Beautifil Les Paul! *_*

  • if nobody remembers, pink floyd was actually originally blues. and thats what david signed up for...a blues band. but then they experimented and went to psych/prog rock. they brought back a lot of blues material post-barrett and post-waters....

  • What a player - though I prefer his less-dense soloing usually, this is really well done for a little heartier approach.

  • David Gilmour is basically a blues player , don't forget it ;) great solo , a lot of feeling .

  • best i've heard him play

  • 00:41 00:43 :o dave !!!

  • How can someone even dislike this? did he not play good enough?

  • Dave, would you please release another album ?

  • 3 dislikers are Lady Gaga fans on pills got here mistakenly

  • I love David Gilmour, he's the best, but his playing here is not so good, he's overplaying it a bit

  • gilmour on a les paul..strange sight haha

  • Actually, Dave plays not only great bluesy stuff, but also he's gotten into more classical style work as well. Check out some of his classically-styled renditions of Pink Floyd songs, it's good stuff. He also still does his tradition psychedelic stuff too; check out his modern versions of Echoes, for example.

  • btw, most of the wall was recorded on a Les Paul

  • @jimmcmil1967 what? really? i thought that only the brick part2 solo was recorded on the les paul.......

  • wtf you mean awefull? the timing was perfect and the tone was perfect, your a tard

  • is he playing a goldtop gibson les paul?

sweet i have one pretty similar to it

  • If you close your eyes, till 2:00 don't even seems to be david gilmour playing. At least not the way I'm used to see him playing.

    Pretty, pretty cool.

  • Dave's always been bluesy.

  • He played one on The Wall with a fixed bridge.

  • David Gilmour on a Les Paul, that's awesome.

  • This is like sex to my ears!! Awesome, David Gilmour<3<3 I LOVE YOU!!!!

  • yep u know that screaming guitar is gilmour...amazing

  • is it just me or has David gotten a more bluesy feel over the last years ?

    sweet : D

  • he's always had it!;)

  • he's been bluesy since I was a kid I remember him coming over in the early 90's and playing dads martin d28 and from what I remembered it was a great 12 bar blues I wish I saw a lot more of him :( but he's always busy

  • oh uau tell me more about that story!

  • @blsnewreligion It comes standard with the Les Paul ;)

  • @blsnewreligion Since he is getting old his soul is getting old too, so that makes him go more on blues i believe :D

  • Gilmour used the same Les Paul on the solo of Another Brick in the Wall pt. 2

  • its actually not that exact guitar. Gilmour has got two goldtops; one with a bigsby tremolo, and one with the original bridge :)

  • and it was recorded direct, later on they amplified it to get the "amp" sound on the record

  • Great! Thanks for all these videos.

  • It's the first time I see Gilmour playing a Les Paul.

  • Yeah it doesn't happen often, he said once that he didn't really prefer the feel of them.
