@hellolizgarcia the movies are not in the contirty of the series. so you can watch them after a certain point like R you can watch anytime after Rini finds out who the scouts are. the S movie anytime after she gets the Purty Chalice. and the SuperS movie anytime after the Inners get their Super Upgrades. or since the movies are not part of the series you could watch them after the season but i think it works after a midpoint

I love the vhs versions of the movies it was great Pioneer went back to using the DiC dubbed msic though they were limited on what they could use & what attack names they could use. If you notice Aqua Illusion was changed, Fire Crash, & Thunderclaps Zap. All were used in the DiC dub & Cloverway dub but they were hardly used in the 3 films & if they were they were only in S. I like the movies for the music but that's pretty much it the changes afterward the 4 seasons were dubbed & then the movies

@ yuri40890 do you think with the original japense version of sailor moon and its content it would pass the parental guidelines for children? Heck even on primetime network tv there is a lot of fuss about gay people kissing, let alone how people would react to a cartoon. Do you remember the fuss people had over the teletubbies and bert and ernie on sesame street? Politics are the reason why the english version and translation happened.

@ThePoopy111 it'd be too hard for them to dub successfully without cutting out a lot of content. and by that season, the translations of anime symbolism was too embedded within the mechanics of the show (mainly with the Starlites and their male-to-female transitions, and the fact that the final battle heavily relied on a naked Sailor Moon, which only represented wholesomeness and innocence in anime, generally not something sexually suggestive).

I'll note this--"Super-S the Movie" had the best Moon Tiara Magic sequence ever, however short it was. As a side note, it was also the last actual time that attack was used in the SM canon.

Not for this movie. In the movies and the first 64 Episodes of Sailor Moon, Mars was voiced by Katie Griffin.

Emilie Barlow (who voices courtney) voiced Mars for 18 episodes and Sailor Venus for S and SuperS. However, Stephanie Morganstein voiced Sailor Venus for the first 82 Episodes of Sailor Moon and the Movies.

Mars=Same always

Mercury= Same in 1 and 2 then changed after everytime

Jupiter= Same

There was no way for them to edit much without people still noticing the...some..."parts". As for the anime, well I guess the creator rushed for an ending. Maybe she was tired of the series. I just wished that she ending it more like her manga. I wanted to see Sailor Cosmos!!!!!!! T^T

@kinglouis1993 Did you even consider the time period when this show came on? Adult swim hadn't been on and tv wasn't showing stuff like that during the time. So, when Sailor Moon became a bit too much for children to handle without noticing some things about the anime, they took it off tv. Now days children are more adapt to seeing things like this. So, before you try to contradict me about why Sailor Moon was too inappropriate, I suggest you think of the years when it was shown on tv!

And think about what was on the anime that most parents wouldn't have wanted their children to see at the time: cursing, nudity, panty shots, homosexuality, and maybe even violence. As much as I love Sailor Moon (Pretty much all my life) I sort of agree to why they took it off tv. I'm happy just watching the series on here and on my dvd boxset. Think more like an adult, kid.

See the things is only "adults" would think like that but we "kids" just enjoyed the show for what it was:a cartoon with action adventure and romance and stuff not for the cursing or other thees plus shows like family guy and the simpsons were on at the time(and stil are) and IMO it just wasnt rite that it cancelled

When I was 9 and they released the season that introduced Haruka and Michiru, I defiantly could tell that they weren't just cousins.(As they were addressed in the dub version) So, wouldn't you say that it would be confusing for children to see the Sailor Starlights change from men (their disguise forms) into women in scandalous revealing outfits? I'd say that was too mature for them.

It was pointed more towards adults than children, where as Sailor Moon was on CN's Toonami, where they only showed children's programs. I heard that they were gonna put it on adult swim but they changed their minds b/c that would just make young children watch more adult themed cartoons. (Which is what most of us did anyways back then) xD

"I'm sure no one agrees" Everybody loves Susan Roman, she is jupiter. It was probably the best voice actor casting for the entire dub. Terri Hawkes does a lovely sailor moon as well though.

@Rydellx Lydia Mckay would be a far better choice for Setsuna, and Emily Blau an infinitely better Usagi. And I have to say, Jeff Lumby as Prof. Tomoe was probably the best. Roman made Setsuna sound prepubescent at a lot of points, like when she revealed the third pure heart crystal to Eudeal and formed the Holy Grail.

I completely agree, I think Susan Roman did an excellent job while voicing her, and it's really tough for fandubs based on the "English Adaptation" to find someone who can portray a voice like her's.
