Holy crap! Even on a thin, distorted recording like that you can hear the power they generated. When Moon does the steam engine at 3:08 it's like a freight train -- must have blown the audience out of their seats!
Anyone who wonders how they got their reputation as the best live band need only listen to this and compare it to what other bands did on stage back in '67. Of course the following year, they did it again for 'Rock and Roll Circus' and forever preserved the legend.
Sounds like the studio version to me.
